Did I make a mistake by offering a guy my phone number?

I'm a 26f who works at a small deli. And I have this regular who comes in. Idk how old he is, he looks older than me and a few of my co-workers think so as well (he's at least over 21 he's been buying beer here for a year that I've noticed him)

Anyways, the past 2 or 3 months, I've noticed he's nicer than most regulars who come in. And in the past month, I've noticed he will complement me, like saying he likes my hair or that the sweater I'm wearing is pretty. And he's always smiling at me even if we're not saying anything. Last week he came in 3 times and on the last time he told me what city he lives in asked if inlived around the store.Idk I just got the vibe that's he has some interest in me.

I only see him on Tuesdays. So I pre-wrote my number on a piece of paper with my name. He came in, and we talked a bit. He told me the cardigan I was wearing was pretty and that he liked it. We said bye and he started to leave. So I thought fuck it, what's the worst that could happen. I offered him my number.

When I asked him if he'd like my number, he looked kinda lost. And didn't say anything at first. So I told him not to worry about it, just thought I'd offer. He said he didn't have his phone on him and started checking his pockets. So I held up the slip of paper, and he took it. He told me his name then said he'd text me.

But now I'm kinda freaking out a bit. I feel bad because I know it can be really hard to reject someone. And I don't want him to have to feel weird and burdened by me offrening my number. But I guess I'll know how he feels about it if he ever does text me.

Was it weird to do that?

I'm a confident person in a nervous skin suite. So I'm melting about this. All i can think about is how uncomfortable I probably made him feel.

Edit: No call. But thats okay, I appreciate everyone's input. I hope everyone has a good rest of their week!

Abbie Rabbit

My rabbit passed away this last may. I feel like it took me till now to process it fully. She was 6. Abbie was a rescue, so I got her when she was two.

And let me tell you. I still cry when I think about her. Her passing was really hard because it wasn't sudden. It was months of vet appointments, medicines, helping her eat. The vet still wasn't sure what was going on by the time we made the decision that she had to be put to sleep. It was months of trying everything and nothing working.

I put my mattress on the ground like it was when I first got her because she couldn't use her stairs to sleep on the bed with me. She slept by my head every night.

My room stayed the same for a few months after. I didn't want to move her things because I couldn't realize she was gone. I still check my feet before I take steps (just in case).

She was my little familiar. Abbie went to college with me. Move appointments and dorms with me.I used to tell her about the house we would get together. And how much more room shed had to run. I know they don't live forever, but i wanted her to see me graduate at least.

She was such an amazing, curious, and sassy girl. The same girl who bit 3 vet techs charged at them grunting then shoved her head into my arms and shivered when I got back into the room. (When she was younger).

I never want any other pets again. Sounds dramatic. But losing her sucked so badly, I don't think I could go through it again. At the same time, I don't think any other pet could live up to her. I don't know how or why, but i feel like she was a piece of my soul.

I hope she's up in heaven playing with all the other well loved bunnies.

[26/F] from the U.S. looking for a pen pal

Hello, I'm a 26f from the U.S. looking for a pen pal. I don't really care about age or gender. Just someone to write to.

I've always liked writing, and I'm sure everyone else on here does too, haha. I think it's been a cool experience since I've never really written and sent letters before.

I also like making small crafts and trinkets. So I think it would be fun to exchange things like that back and forth.

I'm a pretty outdoorsy person. I love nature and catching critters. I just graduated with my degree in environmental science.

My current small obsession is keeping isopods. I have a small colony of about 10 Japanese magic potions. I also like to cook, collect fossils, and other weird trinkets.

Let me know if you be interested in writing back and forth. I think to start off, I'd be more comfortable with emailing for a bit before giving put my P.O. box info.

Thank you for reading.

Should I trade my car in or sell it privately?

My car is a 2007 dodge caliber. In the past few months, I've been dumping money into it. And it keeps having problem after problem.

Two months ago, I got a new battery, thermostat and cover, wiring, vacuum hose, and a few other things. This week, I spent 700 to get new motor mounts, and now the alternator needs to be replaced.

I looked it up, and my car is only worth 700$. Should I try to sell it privately or just take it to the dealership?

It's not a pretty car. It has some rust. The seats are beige, so everything stains them. Even the cleaner I used to try and get the stains out.

I'm just done with the car, and I'm wondering the best way to get rid of it. If someone buys it, they would have to tow it away.

I've also been seeing some things that a dealership wouldn't give me anything for it. Do people want to buy a car like mine? Or should I just eat the loss and let the dealership just have it?

Also my driver side door doesn't open from the outside :')

Do I have to worry about a pericing closing in one day?

I just woke up and checked one of my nipple pericing. Because my chest hurt. I look down to see one of my end balls fell off.

I'm dog sitting at someone else's house. I've had them done since December of 2024. I consider them healed. I don't have any issues with them.

Am I safe to go to work today without that bar in? It hurts a bit because the bar is slipping back into the hole. Do you think I will have problems getting the jewelry back in tonight?

I've checked everywhere and I can't find the ball. Should I rush home before work to grab an extra?

How can you tell the difference between manipulative crying and real crying.

I 26f have a co-worker 20f who crys at work alot. Like I'd say 2 or 3 times a week. And I can't tell if their real tears or it's a manipulation tactic. I also feel like half to time it's been because of me.

At first I noticed they'd do it because I noticed them sitting alot while I'm working and I'll say "hey whats going on?" Instead of just saying they need a break they get up fast and walk past me. Then they start slamming thing or go to the bathroom for a long time and come back teary. A few time they have even asked me if it looks like they have been crying, pull up their glasses to show me their eyes.

The past month I have been getting increasingly more pissed at the fact that they will let me do all the work and sit on their phone the majority of the shift. I will have to help customers, cook food, and answer phones while they either disappear for 20 to 30 minutes or go to the bathroom.

So I will admit I have been asking them to do things more. I will say things like "Hey can you please do this next." Or "Hey when you can please get on this." I get i have a more monotone voice so I try to keep it natural and say thank you.

Today i was busy writing up an order. They were ignoring a customer at the deli, so.i asked the lady what she needed, took it out of the case and asked them to get her the food she wants. So I could continue to finish my order. This was met by them slamming the blows down and huffing. And doing this to the next 3 customers.

When I work with them most of the time I won't be able to use the bathroom when I need it. Because they are in there or Mia. I get pissy I won't lie. But I don't slam things. I don't yell, I ask them to do more things. They get mad and start crying. No one asked them what's wrong because they do it so much.

I feel bad, but also shit I can't do everything by myself.

Are they real tears? And I being a jerk?

They will also stop crying about 20 minutes before the shift ends every night. Then sit out by my car looking sad at me until I offer them a ride home or indirectly ask me for a ride by saying, "I gave no way home *sigh*"

I, 25 f, recently felt comfortable enough telling a close friend 26 f why I don't hang out with a lady 26f (rn not back then ) that I used to be close with. It actually just kinda fell out of my mouth, unfortunately, and I got that weird pitty/sad/ angry look from her. When I apologized and told her that was weird, I shouldn't have said that. She told me that what I experienced might have been sexual assault. But I don't know. And that she has never experienced SA so she's not sure either.

A few years ago, when I was 21. I came back from college on summer break. A close friend I had since middle school wanted to hang out. It was June, and my birthday was in July. She came over with a car trunk full of presents. Like 300 worth of crap. I was confused, but she said she was just excited I was back home and couldn't wait. She actually just came over without an invitation and asked to hang out (pretty normal for us. The gifts were not normal, tho.)

She invited me to her house, I said yes, but I need to shower first. While I was showering. She took my car without asking and filled up my tank and tires. And even bought me a new tire air guage. She suggested actually staying at my house (my parents' house). I said that was cool. Also my parents went gonna be home until tomorrow. But she had a full house at hers. So it seemed like the better option.

She also bought food and edibles while she was out with my car. We started eating, and she casually brought up that we should have sex. I said no, I had a boyfriend for 3 years at that point to. I just brushed it off. We took the edibles. She asked again. I said no. This time, she started explaining that it's because she's never had sex before. And it's not fair for her. We're girls, it's fine. My boyfriend doesn't have to know. I said no again. And she did that "but whhhhyyyy" thing. I ignored it.

After an hour I am very, very high. Like, I don't remember how I got upside into my bed high. She asked me again before we went to sleep. I started feeling bad. Because she had bought me all this stuff. And I felt bad she didn't have any experience. So I said yes. Things started happening, but It was me mostly doing things to her. It was about 2 minutes in where I felt like I was gonna puke. I got up, washed my hands, and laid back down facing the wall.

I don't remember speaking to her. I just silently laid there. I don't think i closed my eye at all. In the morning before she had left. She told me not to make a big deal out of it. As soon as she left my house. I got up and started sobbing. I drove to my then boyfriends house. I told him everything, fully expecting him to break up with me because I cheated. He said he didn't blame me and he wasn't going to break up with me.

That day, I told her we crossed a line and I don't want to be friends. She was upset.

A year later, she messages me saying she's changed and she misses her best friend. I blamed myself for it mostly and still feel bad. So I say okay. A few months in, her grandfather died, and she had a full mental breakdown. Like she was the new Jesus, and I was her disciple break down. I was watching her while she was going through it. And she started saying that she had always loved me and wanted me and her to be together and she'll even let me keep my boyfriend. That she'll learn to love him too. I got really creeped out by this. And told her to stop talking.

I got her admitted to a hospital and then tried to distance myself. She got mad and said that I'm always trying to control her. And that she always has to do what I want and I don't think of her. I'm doing this because she had to go to the mental health hospital.I cut things off anyway.

It's been like 3 years since. I've finally gotten to a place where I don't feel so guilty and gross about it. So I let it out to my friend. I never thought about it as SA. I thought I just did something bad. I also talked about the fact that she was high, too. And I said yes. So the whole thing is morally gray and questionable. I've always felt very weird ,grossed out, and mad at myself about it. So I'm confused about it.Was that SA?
