How much of this area can be mangrove forested without having to dig fishbone channels?

[also i don't know whether this question is suited for this sub so mods pls delete it if it isn't]

Location 23.736093,68.382084

Basically I was looking at the part of India delta present in India and was wondering if all of it could be forested with grey mangroves. Now from my limited knowledge from highschool I know that in deltas like these if there isn't adequate drainage of seawater back into the ocean after high tide it will evaporate and increase soil salinity making it unfit for mangrove growth and thus we need to dig fishbone channels to train the sea water. So I was wondering from looking at this picture how much could be forested without having to use fishbone channels

If you could remove/modify one corner on the Callender, which one would it be? (Mine is qatar turn 1)

This modification makes turn 1 a heavy braking zone and allows divebomb moves by cars and thus helps overtaking in f1 while not completely ruining the flow for moto gp

Who would have been a better king : prince baelor breakspear or lord bloodraven? [Spoilers main]

Imo prince baelor.

Bloodraven was effective and ruled for many years as hand but I think baelor during the 10 or so years he was hand, he helped the country recover from the first blackfyre rebellion. Given how bloody the first one was it's no doubt that he must have been good at ruling and we all know how good of a person he is.

George literally made the perfect heir just to kill him off

Who is the better' fighter: feanor or fingolfin

Feanor : squared up against multiple balrogs at the same time and held them up for a time until he got tired and overwhelmed

Fingolfin : dueled a weakened morgoth and wounded him 7 times and gave him a permanent leg injury with his dying breath.

Rhaegar is overrated [SPOILERS PUBLISHED]

Some of the biggest arguments used to protect rhaegar are

  1. him running away with lyanna was consensual and lyanna is equally at fault

  2. he made sure that elia and her children were safe \[fking bs\]

  3. he did not think it would escalate to war and thought hiding was enough

  4. he did what he did because of the prophecy and thought that jon was the prince that was promised

So let me give my opinion on each of these

i.

>him running away with lyanna was consensual and lyanna is equally at fault

We don't know if it was consensual or not but even if it was consensual, how can you blame lyanna? She is a 14 year old girl who just stupidly fell in love with someone in a tourney. But rhaegar was 25 years old with 2 children and a wife. Even consensually taking the daughter of the lord of one of the great houses for the sake of having a child with her without telling anyone and disrespecting his own wife and children is fking insane no matter.

ii.

>he made sure that elia and her children were safe

This is the part that infuriates me the most. So you think that putting your wife and infant children on your island, that is 3 days away from kings landing where you have your crazy father that you have been falling out with for years and tensions are near dotd level is safe? If he cared for them he could have sent them to dorne (since they were still in dragonstone when rhaegar came back to kl) with his loyal men but no he lets them stay there thinking that his father won't do anything stupid? Does he not have the mind to think that if say he wins the trident and aerys would grow paranoid and potentially hold them hostage? him keeping three kingsguard to protect lyanna but not giving a shit about the implications of what will happen to elia if he left her near kl shows that he didn't care about her

iii.

>he did not think it would escalate to war and thought hiding was enough.

If he really thought this way he is perhaps as dumb as balon greyjoy. You really think that kidnapping (at least from the rebel pov) the daughter of a lord paramount, who is promised to wed another hot headed lord paramount, who is pretty much the foster som of another lord paramount and the girls hot headed brother is getting married to the daughter of another lord paramount would not escalate into a war? Especially when his father is so paranoid that he kills anyone who even dares question his power? Tf was he thinking that just cuz aerys hated him meant that all the criticism would fall on him and his father won't be questioned about this?

iv.

>he did what he did because of the prophecy and thought that jon was the prince that was promised

Now if somehow he had urgent visions regarding the others or if lord bloodraven was playing tricks this would be invalid but if this isn't the case then tell me how you could justify a man who left his wife (who nearly died giving birth to his children) because she could no longer give birth because of a stupid prophecy he read in some book in a library that said that the third head of the dragon was the prince that was promised? And those that say 'if it weren't for him jon would not be born' I mean yes but does that excuse all of his actions against elia, aegon, rhaenys and the 10's of 1000's that died during the rebellion

Does anyone else think that dorne has.....plot armour during aegon's conquest? [Spoilers Main]

I mean look at it this way :

  1. dorne is basically the Egypt of westeros. It is a dry desert with 3 rivers in it and with civilization only being at most 1 km away from those rivers and the coastline. If that is so, then why did aegon not burn the major settlements in the area and have some 10000 men come and hold those depopulated or abandoned settlements (especially now that he is kind of the 7 kingdoms)? Like there is literally no way any major desert force can survive without being near water sources right?

  2. aegon was very generous to those who bent the knee especially former vassals. Powerful kingdoms with much more gold, grain, men and pride bent the knee after little more than a single battle with him (especially the starks of all people). If the dornish are so relatively depleted in resources, especially after aegon burned everything, even if old woman martells pride was preventing her from bending the knee, then why didn't any house martells competition vassals come forward to aegon? Especially the yronwoods (who from my memory fought against the martells in 2 or 3 blackfyre rebellions). So why didn't they do what the tyrells or the tully's did?

Forgive me if I'm being ignorant to some facts but personally it doesn't make sense. I mean even Egypt had been occupied by foreign nations before and the invaders didn't have any sort of advantage other than men and maybe superior equipment.

How well do you think A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms would have done as a movie? [SPOILERS MAIN]

Basically since all 6 episodes are more or less 30 min long, if all of them were clubbed it would make a 3.5 hour long movie. Do you think the movie would be as successful as the show?

How the hell did the riverlands have so many men and food even after aemond burned everything? [Spoilers Main]

I mean in GOT the riverlands are basically completely bankrupt, lost many men and starving due to lack of food cuz of a normal war involving men and tywin occasionally burning the lands whenever he has an itchy arsehole. Then how the fuck did they manage to be so strong when aemond started torching them with a fucking 100 foot long dragon? They were spawning armies even after the gods eye and helped feed the northmen. I mean how? Even kings landing would have faced food shortages after the wot5k if not for the tyrell alliance. Or did george just kinda forget?

TIL that the previous layout of the yas marina circuit was literally the worst racetrack 21st century f1 has raced at (SO FAR madrid might beat that record)

As a fan who came in during mid 2024, I was always wondering why older f1 fans hated the yas marina so much. The current layout has 2 solid overtaking spots a spoon curve and a singapore type final sector which while being average is nothing as bad.

That was until today when i looked at the abomination that was the old layout. Tf even is that the 567 chicane ruins all the momentum and spreads the cars out onto the first straight making the 89 chicane useless then 11-12-13 chicane makes sure that all the flow is ruined and overtaking opportunity due to an alternative line into 89 is also ruined. Cherry on top is that the 11-12-13-14 complex slows the cars so much that whatever satisfaction in driving the final sector is gone.

Kimi summed it up best "the first four corners are good the rest are shit"
