They always did Kyra wrong.

A lot of people on here talk about how Kyra missed out on her trip to England (which she earned for making stellar grades) because Cheyenne blew off her classes. Yes, this was incredibly frustrating. However, this was far from an isolated incident.

There was a time in the first season where Kyra got straight A’s. Kyra said that she’d be happy with cash as a reward (knowing she would likely get overshadowed). But Reba insists that they have a dinner to celebrate. Of course, this gets blown off by Van’s drama with his family.

Another time they grounded Kyra for not checking in with both Brock and Reba before going to a party. They always let Cheyenne get away with way worse, but they punished Kyra for only checking in with one parent?

Then when Kyra wants to move in with Brock and Barbara Jean, Cheyenne guilt trips her by calling her selfish, saying that she’s hurting Reba, etc. Then when Kyra calls Cheyenne out on her bullshit, Cheyenne cries like a middle school girl who dishes it out but can’t take it.

When Kyra was getting bullied at school because they said Cheyenne was a slut and Kyra was gonna be just like her, Brock dismisses it by saying, “When things get tough, you stick to it.” Yeah, like he leads by example there 🙄

It wasn’t just the England incident. Kyra was always put last. That was just what stood out.

Customer pulled the race card because I told him where the line started.

I am biracial but “white passing.” I live and work in a suburb that is primarily Black.

A Black man was walking up to the register without going through the line. There was a dad with his daughter who had just gotten in line. I told the first man, “Sir, the line starts over there.” Because he was closer to the register than the dad and daughter, I said I’d serve him first but told him in the future, he needs to go through the line.

He went on to say, “Caucasian people are always wanting things to be done a certain way. It makes me feel unheard/uncomfortable (can’t remember the exact words but it was something along those lines). You guys need to do better.” I tried to explain I wasn’t trying to be like that (really trying to be polite and deescalate). He then was like “I know you people can’t help it, just do better.”

I then took his money and tried to bag his stuff and he was like, “I don’t need no bag. Just give me my change in a prompt manner” (after I’m nervously freezing because he’s treating me like I’m racist). I then told him to have a good one and served the dad and daughter. I then told the assistant manager ASAP what happened in case he calls and accuses me of racism. Thankfully, they all know me and know I’m not like that.

All because I told him where the line starts.

Decent paying jobs that are easy to get.

I’m in LSU Online’s MLIS program and work at a clothing store for $11.15 an hour. This obviously isn’t enough to live on my own, especially as a grad student.

I’ve had a couple interviews for library jobs, records analyst positions, etc. I’ll complete the final interview and then get told “Thank you for your interest, but we’re going with another candidate.”

Are there any places around here that pay better than my current job and won’t just throw you away after interviewing? I don’t care if it’s relevant to my field of study as long as it pays decently. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Waste my time, and I’ll waste yours.

I work at one of the few clothing stores that still do layaways. This requires a lot of extra bagging and hangers, stapling papers, tying the bags, and it forms a line. Obviously, this is time consuming.

Around 20 minutes before closing, a woman decided to do a layaway. Mind you, the music was already off, so it was clear we were about to close. Usually, I give the customer the receipt before bagging so that they’re free to go. But since this bitch wanted to be a pain in the ass, I refrained from handing it to her and had her stand there until I was done putting everything together.

Keep wasting my time, and I’ll keep wasting yours.

96 yo great-grandmother in hospice for terminal lung cancer and dementia, estimated time left.

My great-grandmother will be 96 on Wednesday. She has both terminal lung cancer and dementia. She has been in hospice for 73 days (about two-and-a-half months). She’s constantly in pain and my grandparents give her morphine (I work retail and am a full time grad student, so I’m not home as much to know what exactly she takes). My grandfather told me her hallucinations from the dementia are getting worse, which is a sign that it’s getting closer. However, she is able to walk short distances (usually the bathroom or the kitchen). The pain seems to be getting worse though and there’s a lot of heavy breathing (but not quite the “death rattle”).

Is there an estimate on how much she has left? I know it’s impossible to be precise, but I want a general idea. I don’t want her to suffer anymore, and as selfish as it sounds… I want life to be normal again. I really hope that doesn’t come off the wrong way, I just want an idea.

Do you think Nicole eventually came back?

NOTE: I am talking about the CHARACTER. Not Alexa.

At the start of season 3, Zoey assured Lola that Nicole wasn’t gone for good, but was just going to “be away for a while.”

Season 3 lasted a really long time (September 2006-January 2008) and Quinn mentioned in season 4 that Mark broke up with her “after two years” (despite season 1 being in 2005). Therefore, in the show’s universe, seasons 3 and 4 combined probably lasted about a year rather than a year-and-a-half.

It’s plausible that Nicole’s parents only sent her to the all-girls school for a year for her to get over her “OMGD” and then send her back to PCA after the show ended. I’m pretty sure the show ended with their junior year, so I could see Nicole coming back their senior year. Thoughts?

The last season of this show was almost completely unpleasant and disappointing.

First, making a whole emotional ending to season 3 by having Zoey leave for England, only for her to come back almost immediately was just unnecessary.

Second, Chase not being there for most of the season was awful. They already lost Dana after season 1 and Nicole after season 2. Now they lose Chase?

Third, James was a nice person, but he was incredibly bland of a character.

Fourth, the anger management episode was complete hypocrisy. Logan gets punished for yelling at Dustin, but the rest of them get away with constantly antagonizing him?

The ONLY thing I liked about this season was Logan’s character development when getting with Quinn.

I know the last season of the show tends to not be great, but season 4 of Zoey 101 was just plain insufferable.

This sounds like common sense, but it happens far too often.

Yes, there will be days where they’re occupied with work and appointments. However, if they go weeks and months without seeing you or even a good text conversation here and there, they’re not busy. They just don’t care about you.

Forget about them. You deserve better.
