32” 4k monitor that doesn’t cost a fortune?
So I need a monitor upgrade from my 10 year old LG 1440p 120hz IPS monitor. Last year I built a new computer and got a MSRP 5080 FE, 9800x3D and cheap compared to now 64 GB of DDR5 ram. I feel like my monitor is keeping me from having a much better experience.
I feel like I want to upgrade in both size and resolution, but it seems like everything in this spec category is a really pricey OLED. I see 27” 1440p OLED for like $350 but then it seems like every 32” 4k OLED is $800 which is a lot more than I want to spend.
Any advice for something in between?
Was the Yoshi-P shirt actually hinting at both jobs in Evercold?
We already got the first job, Bastion, which is directly referenced on the shirt. The job is directly modeled after Rhitahtyn sas Arvina.
There has already been a leak stating that the new job would be called Zephyr. We have the audio hints from Soken confirming that there is a bird sound associated with the job, and the extended trailer showing a bird.
However, if we look at the meaning of the word zephyr: "In European tradition, a zephyr is a light wind or a west wind, named after Zephyrus, the Greek god or personification of the west wind."
West wind...
Cape Westwind...
It's literally the trial where you fight Rhitahtyn.
Can’t decide what OLED to upgrade to. 1440p, 4k, ultrawide? What works best for my specs and use case? Help me narrow it down?
I built a computer last year with a 5080, 9800X3D, 64 GB of 6000 mhz DDR5.
Right now I’m using a 10 year old LG IPS that is 1440p 120 hz. It’s serviceable for sure, but the brightness is low, blacks look grey, and it’s not really pushing my system in most games.
I think I am pretty sure I want an OLED. I do play long stretches of Dota and Final Fantasy 14 so I worry about the static element burn in. But on the bright side with those two games, I am sure I can push a 4k monitor with good frame rates. I do play a lot of other games and very rarely am I playing AAA titles so I’m not too worried about 4k.
I stream a lot to a 4k tv and so whereas I don’t really have a lot of issues with moonlight with the 2k resolution switch, I do worry about getting an ultrawide. Similarly, I have a small YouTube channel where i record games in 2k right now. I think I’d enjoy gaming in ultrawide but I don’t think I want to mess around with getting decent looking YouTube videos, 2k or 4k would simplify that.
Rigjt now i am leaning toward the Alienware AW2725Q which is 27” 4k.
But part of my wonders if i should get 32”. Any advice?
My (37M) girlfriend (34F) doesn't want me buying a new gaming monitor, even though I can afford it.
This isn't a huge deal; I just want to figure out a way to articulate this in a mature and respectful way to my partner.
So, gaming is my primary hobby. Last year, I built a pretty top of the line gaming PC. My monitors are now 10 or so years old, so I am not really getting the most out of my computer. I want to update to a nice 32" 4k OLED and have budgeted around $600-700 or so dollars for this purchase. It's something I really want; I tend to do research on something new for months. I do get very excited about purchases that I make, but otherwise I am pretty frugal and try to make good financial decisions.
I mentioned it one night recently to my girlfriend who lives with me and we've been dating about 1.5 years. She got upset and said I don't need it and we need house stuff. She's not wrong, I bought this house last year, and I have been slowly fixing it up. Eventually, I need a new kitchen, and there's still lots of painting and decorating to be done, but the house is clean and safe for the most part.
Here's the reality though. I pay 100% of the bills, I do 100% of the home maintenance. Sometimes she buys us groceries, but I do the bulk of the cooking and cleaning. I work really hard as an ICU nurse, and I have no debt besides my mortgage. I make a lot more money than she does and bought this house for myself and my dogs to have a backyard. We are not currently planning on getting married anytime soon, and we don't have any shared finances currently.
I could buy it and not worry about her feelings, but she is very sensitive to not feeling listened to and I do not want it to turn into a thing.
Obviously we have differences and priorities but how do I navigate this situation?
edit: There are no unsafe parts of the house. The appliances are new, the HVAC and roof are 5 years old, the plumbing and electrical are all good. I wrote that to say that there's nothing inherently wrong with the house. It could be cozier and I acknowledge that, but the basics are there.
Will Alienware release a new 32” 4K OLED?
I’m not in a huge hurry to buy. I noticed they have a new 34” ultra wide, a 27” 4k, and announced a 5k2k.
I just want a 32” 4K OLED with the updated stand/aesthetics. Any idea if they’ll refresh the AW3225QF?
Who should star in the Meccha Chameleon movie besides the obvious?
$30,000 loans, PSLF is a factor. Do I choose IBR or RAP?
I am having a hard time figuring out which plan is right for me.
I am currently in SAVE with a total balance of $30,479 and monthly payment of $253. I have made 8 qualifying payments; I should have been better but got super confused with all the student loan forebearances.
I am being offered IBR which makes my monthly payment $327, total to be paid $36,625 and end of term date 10/2035. I would
I am also being offered RAP with a monthly payment of $462, total to be paid of $35,199. Says I would be paid off 10/2031? No PLSF, but seems like I am paying less overall?
I theoretically can do the $462 payment, but it will probably mean some budgeting and overtime at work. I get that IBR makes my payments lower, but I also don't like the idea of paying on my loans for 5 years longer, just to get very little forgiven, hoping that I actually get it forgiven.
Are these numbers right? Am I considering the right things here?

Roborock Qrevo S Pro or S5V? Or something else for less than $500?
1400 square foot house. 3 dogs. All tile but some area rugs.
Qrevo S Pro or S5V?
Not sure what to get. S Pro is $399 or S5V for $449.
1400 square foot house, all tile, some area rugs. 3 medium sized dogs.
Brand new to the game. How come there aren’t any big, burly tank heroes?
Like there should be a buff, manly hero that can jump in, taunt everyone and force them to attack while damaging them back. Maybe he could have a big hammer and we can call him Hammer.
