Torn about quitting my job 4 months before my wedding and moving abroad / Family says stay, fiancé says quit

Hey everyone,

I’m (30F) getting married this December and after the wedding, I will be moving to another country to start our new life together. Right now, I’m at a massive crossroads regarding my job and really need some perspective from people who understand the wedding planning chaos.

To give some context: I work a regular desk job handling daily analysis and reporting requests. The work itself isn’t overwhelmingly complex or high-stakes, but being in the office 8 to 5 every day, waking up at 6:30 AM every morning, is completely draining me. I simply don’t have the mental space or energy to juggle a full-time corporate routine, plan a cross-border wedding and mentally prepare for moving abroad all at once.

I desperately want to resign now so I can spend these final months focusing on myself, quality time with my family before I leave and getting everything sorted for the big day without constant exhaustion.

Here’s the dilemma:

  • My family and friends are strongly insisting that I keep working until the very end. They think leaving early is unnecessary since my job isn't overly stressful on paper.
  • My fiancé is 100% supportive of me quitting. He tells me not to worry about finances at all and wants me to be stress-free. However, he has a much more demanding, high-responsibility role than mine and the last thing I want is to add any extra burden onto him while he handles everything.

I feel caught between trying to be practical and wanting to protect my peace during what should be a special, once-in-a-lifetime transition period.

Has anyone else quit their job a few months prior to their wedding/move abroad? Did you regret it, or was the extra time and mental relief worth it?

My close friend’s (32M) girlfriend (26F) is a pathological liar about her entire life. How do I tell him without ruining our friendship?

Hey everyone, I’m in a really tricky situation and could use some advice on how to handle this delicately.

One of my closest male friends (32M) has been dating a woman (26F) for a while now. My friend is a genuinely great guy, he graduated with top honors from a prestigious university, has a well-established career, and lives a very comfortable life by our country's standards. Ironically, he is actually a psychologist by profession. He’s an honest, empathetic person who always tries to see the good in people, so it hasn't even crossed his mind that someone could lie on this scale.

The issue is that his girlfriend is a pathological liar. She lies about literally everything: the university she graduated from, her salary, her social circle, her family background, you name it. In reality, she went to a low-tier regional college and has a completely average background. Having an average background isn't a problem in itself, but she has fabricated an entire fake identity and persona just to impress him and fit into his world. We are not talking about small white lies here; it’s a fully constructed web of deception.

To make matters worse, I want to keep my distance from her completely because her behavior is unhinged and extremely aggressive. She gives off major red flags, and I refuse to confront her directly or get dragged into her drama.

I feel a strong obligation to help my friend see the reality before things get more serious, but I'm terrified of doing it the wrong way. If I approach him too directly, he might get defensive and side with her, putting me in the position of the "bad guy." I'm unsure whether I need to gather solid proof of her lies first or just gently point out the inconsistencies I’ve noticed, all while making sure he knows this comes purely from care and protection rather than judgment.

Has anyone dealt with a situation like this before? What is the best way to open his eyes to the truth while keeping myself safe from her aggressive reactions and preserving my friendship with him?

TL;DR: My close friend (32M), who is a psychologist, is dating a woman (26F) who lies about her education, salary, and entire background. She is also dangerously aggressive, so I want zero direct conflict with her. How do I reveal her true identity to my friend without driving a wedge between us?

Wedding in Dec/Jan, currently at my highest weight, need advice on home workouts & getting dress-ready! <3

Hi all!

I’m getting married in late Dec / early Jan. I’m currently at my highest weight (173 cm / 83 kg) after gaining some relationship weight. I'm honestly very happy with my life and comfortable in my skin, but I do want to make sure I can wear the wedding dress of my dreams!

I'm starting dress shopping in October. I used to do reformer pilates for a year, but currently, home workouts fit my lifestyle best.

What home exercise programs, routines, diets or approaches would you recommend for someone with my stats and timeline? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Teşekkürler :)

Getting engaged soon, but I have absolutely no idea what kind of ring I want! Need advice for a casual/colorful style.

Hey everyone!

My boyfriend and I are getting engaged soon and he asked me what kind of diamond rings I like so he can start looking. The problem is... I have absolutely no idea where to even start!

To give you some context, we are currently long-distance (he lives in another country), so going to a jewelry store together to try things on isn't an option right now. I have to figure out my preferences online.

Here is a bit about my style:

  • My wardrobe: Very casual and vibrant. I mostly wear long skirts, jeans, colorful button-downs and bright t-shirts.
  • The vibe: I want something that looks organic and effortless on me. I’m terrified of getting something that looks "fake" overly gaudy or like it belongs to someone else's style.

I’ve recently discovered that I really love the look of colored diamonds/gemstones, which I think would match my colorful wardrobe perfectly. I've also heard a bit about "lab-grown" options, but I don't know much about them.

For those of you who were completely clueless at the beginning:

  1. How did you finally decide on your ring?
  2. Given my casual and colorful style, what shapes, settings, or stones (like lab-grown or colored diamonds) would you recommend looking into?

Would love to see pictures of your rings if you have a similar casual style! Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone!

My partner and I are planning a destination wedding and we've decided on the UAE (either Dubai or Abu Dhabi). Initially, we were looking at Italy, but we shifted to the UAE because it’s much more convenient for our guests regarding visa requirements etc..

We are looking for something simple, elegant and chic rather than a traditional over-the-top ballroom wedding. I personally love the vibe of Yas Links in Abu Dhabi, but I’m open to other suggestions, specifically golf clubs or venues with beautiful greenery and an "outdoor" feel.

For those who have tied the knot in the UAE or attended a wedding there:

  1. Do you have any venue recommendations that fit this "elegant & green" description?
  2. What would be the best month for an outdoor ceremony? We are considering Autumn (September or October), but we’re worried about the humidity/heat. Would November be a safer bet?

Would love to hear about your experiences and any "hidden gem" venues! Thanks in advance!
