74 Days Si Zuo Lou
Aren't they too dark? I heard that excessive sweat can make them go into "soy sauce" color...
它们是不是有点太深了?我听说手汗太多会让核桃走酱色……
Wenwan Master shows his Treasure
Dialogue Transcript:
OP (Original Poster): Hey grandpa, what kind of treasure do you have hidden in your bag? Mind if I take a look?
Old Master: (Pulls out a massive, deep crimson, glossy pit) Here, take a look.
OP: (Holding it in disbelief) Wow... What variety is this? What do you even call it? Wait, listen! The seeds are still inside! You can actually hear them rattling when you shake it.
Old Master: Tell me its name first. Do you think this is a regular walnut (Hetao)?
OP: No, this definitely isn't a walnut. Is it a "Steel Peach" (Tietao)? I can see the distinct texture of a wild peach or plum pit. And you can clearly hear the dried-up kernel ringing inside.
Old Master: Exactly, it’s a peach pit. It was harvested back in 1974!
OP: No way, 1974?! That means it's over 50 years old...
Old Master: Yep. My son used to roll it in his hands when he was just a little kid. It was literally his childhood toy. Look at it—both sides are perfectly symmetrical and uniform. Back in those days, they used to make children's toys out of this wood. Then I took over and kept playing with it, and that’s how it got this look.
OP: Incredible. It looks exactly like a piece of rich, dried persimmon! Such a deep, rare patina.
OP: This is an absolute rarity, I’ve never seen anything like it! What else do you have in that bag?
Old Master: (Smiles and tucks the bag away) Nope, no more peeking! There’s nothing else to see. Remember this: when it comes to collecting and rolling, you only need one truly high-quality piece. One good piece is more than enough.
Old Master: (Points to the bracelets on his wrist) Instead of hoarding a bunch of junk, it’s much better to have just one premium strand like this. Look at these beads. If a piece is properly aged, fully developed, and well-maintained, that’s all you need. These are peach pits in the "Toad Head" (Hamatou) shape mutation, right?
OP: Wow, they really do look like toad heads!
Old Master: Exactly. But even if you play with ordinary ones, as long as they become clean, glossy, and beautifully translucent—that’s already a win.
OP: I got it. Thank you so much, grandpa!
Old Master: (Walking away) You got lucky today, kid. You really expanded your horizons and saw what a genuine, deeply-aged piece looks like!
OP: Absolutely! Thank you!
Old Master: Next time you show up, I’ll open up my secret second stash for you!
Help with ID
Got these 2 pairs as a gift.
The first one looks like Píngguǒyuán, the second one I have really no idea.
What do you think?
Possible wax on boar bristle?
My walnuts get darker and a little bit sticky after brushing them first time with boar bristle striking viking.
After a closer look, I have noticed that there are a little yellow spots on the bristles, can it be wax?
Is my pair ruined now or I just can continue and the wax will go away?
Second photo — 66 days pair, brushed with the same bristle
Fusion Sword as a base for new game/DLC?
So we know that we weren't be albe to never use the Fusion Sword due the lore canon, but let's think about an entire game, or Revelation DLC, where finally we get at Advent Children point and Cloud finally have access to the Fusion Sword.
The game can be changed drastically to more action gameplay with style changes by assembling/disassembling the only one weapon usable in the game.
In addiction to different styles brought by different fusions of the blade, we can have also different materia combos, set for every blade/blades.
Maybe can be too complex, but I think possible in a way or another.
Did you ever thought about it? This doesn't look like complete madness, if we take a look at combat system in rebirth now, and Job system in revelations.
Please Square, make it happens, tyty
Started to play with my tri ribs
After ~10 days of chill prep, started to play with these tri ribs, they feels awesome, so spicky, ponty tips.
Just wonderful!
My prep setup
Head flashlight, needles, soldering magnifier and a toothbrush.
So good that you can see every black spot and remove it super carefully without mass brushing everything!
In photos, 2 magnification levels.
Btw it takes sooo long to clean it completely
Staying like about 1h in a single hole is a normal thing lol
Looks cool
Found this kind of reparation on web, didn’t know is even possible, looks cool!
Color comparison
When you play only with one pair you don’t realize how much it changes!
The upper left ones are 39 days, the small ones unknown because came prepolished, the lower ones are untouched.
A natural “Y” shape
Another buy from aliexpress, natural 3 ribs shaped as Y, need to be cleaned from a lot of black dirt, but already looks good, what do you think?
Price: 60$
Mini wenwan
Just arrived today from aliexpress, looks prepolished, but natural, no strange odors, price 20$.
Good buy?
Official’s Hat just arrived
Got it on aliexpress, for ~40$.
Looks a little bit pre polished and have some black spots.
Can these be removed in some way?
Is it good overall for that price?
Trying to undervolt on 1.27.0 BIOS
Hello, some years ago I was able to enbable the undervolt function on my G5 5590 be disabling the CFG Lock and Overclocking Lock in my BIOS following this guide:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/comments/kpaouc/g7_15_7590_uefi_unlock_undervolting_and_remove/
but now, it looks like an update slipped in and I have the 1.27.0, I tried to follow the same process, but with the both flags at 0x0 throttle stop does not work...
I also tried to restore the bios to the factory settings, but it didn't help.
there any workaround to fix that?
I used
setup_var "Setup" 0x5C4 0x0
setup_var "Setup" 0x660 0x0
which are my cfg and overclock offsets.
Also, after a factory reset, the 660 flag, the overclock one, was already 0. Is that normal?
so, what can I try to do?
Need help with brushing
Hello!
How do I understand which brush at this point I need to use?
I’m been rolling/brushing them for a month.
I was using the soft brush, and hard tooth brush.
Today the missing brushes arrived, the hard and the medium one.
Also I have the polishing gloves.
So which pipeline should I use?
Usually I do brush->roll->brush, and roll with gloves once in ~3 days, sometimes I use a needle to remove very deep white spots.
Also overall rating is welcome! Are they a good pair?
Hello!
I don’understand if I need to do something about these white spots, do I need to use the steel brush on them?
Or I just use a normal brush to spread the patina?
This is how they are after ~2 weeks
