Cat Rule

My neighbors have had several cats and dogs that they just let free roam and when they're inevitably hit by a car (because we're on a backroad where most people do 60+) they just get a new one. The amount of people that just absolutely don't gaf about animals (and choose to get them anyways!!) is genuinely depressing. I wonder if having pets is like having kids in that most people just get a dog or cat because it's just what you do rather than an actual desire to have and care for one. I may get a cat in the future when I move out if I am financially stable enough to do so, but there's no way I'd ever have a dog again, I don't like having an animal up my ass 24/7

Unmotivated Rule

Ngl one of my favorite things ever is seeing a horse and buggy casually parked at a Walmart or whatever. It must be a fucking insane experience for the horse.

Real Life Rule

Our new neighbors have goats and if I have to work early + get scared by nearby animals (mostly just deer and someone's cat running around but hearing and not being able to see another living creature in the dark is still unnerving) as I'm walking to my car I remember that the goats are also outside with me and it brings me comfort for some reason

I'm so fucking sick of having power outages like it's not even an "oh noes no lights or Internet🥺" situation at this point it's "god damn it AGAIN!??!". gonna take one of my edibles with cbn to knock me out and if the power isn't back when I wake up in the morning I might finally lose it

When I still had TikTok one of my favorite accounts was one that just posted random snippets from the DOAWK books, some of it was genuinely funnier to me as an adult than when I initially read the books as a kid

Shit Burgers Rule

Stardew Valley is great because immediately after you complete the community center and save the town from the big bad corporation you get to get involved in a wizard's marital disputes. Walked up to the train station trying to find Linus only for the wizard to start traumadumping to me about his marriage that he ruined

Holes Rule

It's really hot and sunny so I keep going to sit outside and soak in the sun but my parents' dog is incredibly clingy and NEEDS to be with you at all times for whatever reason so in an attempt to still be able to enjoy the nice weather and not have the dog die from heatstroke (even with her cooling mat/bandana + cold water it's too damn hot for me to feel comfortable with having her outside for long periods of time) I have to grab my keys and make a big show of putting my shoes on and leaving so she thinks I left to go somewhere. Probably should have grabbed sunscreen and water before I did so but oh well, we die like men

XM5 case took a trip through the washer and dryer, safe to keep it around?

No idea where else to post this so I guess I'll ask here.

I left my XM5 case (luckily the actual buds were in my ears at the time) in my pocket when changing and did laundry shortly after; I didn't even realize they were in there until I found them in the dryer after taking my clothes out. I've already confirmed the case is cooked. I can order a new one on eBay so it's not a huge deal, but is it safe to keep it in the house after being exposed to heat for a prolonged period of time? I'm afraid of it catching fire overnight.

I'm sorry to all the house md fans out there but I watched part of the first season and it was boring as hell. It's one of the most formulaic shows I've ever watched and the plotlines aren't even that interesting

I hate that cringe therapycore self care shit actually works. I sat in my car and wrote stupid affirmations after work because I've been having a hard few days mentally and I was really fucking upset and it was effective enough to bring me from borderline actively suicidal to still pretty upset but hopeful. Sometimes you have to be cringe to survive

What the fuck am I even supposed to do at this point man

Fifteen minutes ago I was crying (or as close to crying as I can get, I can't fucking cry except when I'm in front of other people apparently) and googling ways to end it and now I'm just sitting here like a dumbass all strung out. My head hurts and I'm so done with everything. I called off work today because the idea of socializing and being perceived was too much to handle and I just spent the entire day in bed, but I can't do that tomorrow (really I shouldn't have even done it today) because I need the money and I don't want to accrue points just in case I do get sick or something. I hate my job but it pays well for what it is and I need to save up money so I can get the cert that will hopefully help earn me a better paying one, pay off my car, and hopefully hopefully hopefully move out so I'm not so fucking miserable all the time; if I got fired I probably would just finally kill myself atp. I want to take a bath, it used to be my #1 way to destress, but I can't even do that because the dysphoria from having my chest in direct view for that long would probably put me in an even worse place. What the fuck did I do to deserve any of this? God or the universe or whoever could at least make my headache go away if anything goddamn

Polar Bear Rule

had a nap dream where I was playing Stardew Valley and it was raining in-game. my character started coughing and wheezing and holding their stomach and the energy bar was completely drained except for a small sliver at the bottom which was replaced by a tiny blue square with a clock on it, then they straight up just fell over and the game cut to a cutscene of them sick in bed. then for some inexplicable reason it changed to like a Tomodachi Life vacation style montage where they were like having fun with their friends (no idea if it was the villagers or what) and at the end it was a school-style group photo of everyone. no fucking clue why my brain tried to show me a shitty creepypasta and then faked me out but I barely feel any more well rested than I was then. I need to stop playing that damn game
