Brad Pitt took "Heart of the Beast" to try and rehabilitate his image

After his history of domestic abuse with Angelina Jolie and his poor relationship with his kids re-entered the pop culture news cycle a little while ago.The story broke in 2022, with more details emerging in court documents in 2024, coincident with their divorce.

The project was filmed in 2025, and he has a full producer credit as well as the starring role.

My reasoning:

  1. The dates at least make this theory plausible

  2. It's a very one dimensional, feel good film which Pitt a) does not need to take at this point in his career, nor has he shown a prior affinity for them

  3. It's a wholesome film which does not rely on familial relationships. This means that you can watch it without those stories taking you out of it

  4. It plays heavily into hoo-rah support the troops sensibilities, focusing on veterans and animals, which inherently sympathetic to majority American audiences

First original: The Cherry Pomb

I've recently started getting into mixing drinks at home, trying to incorporate things I have lying around.

I've been refining this one for a few weeks trying to get my ratios and I'm fairly happy with it but also curious about possible feedback

Cherry Pomb

• 50ml scotch whiskey

• 25ml cherry congac

• 20ml pomegranate molasses

• 20ml lemon juice

• sugar syrup to taste

• 2 dashes orange bitters

Combine in tin and shake with ice

Garnish with a maraschino cherry and lemon twist

I'm open to suggestions for alterations, and any similar recipes that people are fond of

Spending might multiple times on a 6/4

Can someone please educate me on how this interaction would go?

• Wound roll is made needing a 6/4

• Player chooses to spend might, meaning that they only need 5/3

• Player rolls a 5, then a 2

• Player decides they want to spend an extra might to turn the 2 into a 3

Question: is this second spending of might allowed?

Thanks in advance

Looking for examples of the Feminine in allegory/ metaphor in the Bible

I'm doing some personal writing on how gender is employed allegorically in the Bible and I'm looking for examples that I might not have considered

The two main examples in working with so far are Eve (as read by the majority of contemporary western Christians, as far as I understand), and the metaphor of the Church as the Bride of Christ.

Can anyone else give me any other examples of passages where the feminine is invoked in an allegorical or metaphorical sense?

Thanks in advance

Falafel/ Ta'ameya help

I've recently come into a reliable flow of fresh broad beans and I've used it as an excuse to start making Egyptian falafel/ ta'ameya

I'm struggling to get the cook right; either I'm getting them cooked through but overdone on the outside, or too wet on the inside but an acceptable but still very dark crust

Is this because I'm using fresh beans? All the recipes I see use dried beans and my guess is that as they're fresh they have more sugar and less starch so they're browning too fast. Or is this just a skill issue and I need better oil temp control? Falafel/ Ta'ameya

Recipe (From middle eats on YouTube)

400g Split Fava beans

100g Spring Onions

100g Leeks

50g Coriander

50g Parsley

4 Cloves of garlic

2 Tsp Dried Coriander

1 Tsp Cumin

1 Tsp Cayenne

2.5 Tsp salt

1l (1 quart) vegetable oil for frying

Thanks in advance

Is this a rip off?: Trickster entity based on the Outsider (Dishonoured)

I am in the process of world building for a fantasy world inspired by late medieval/ early modern Scotland and Ireland.

As part of my world, I'm planning on having a mysterious trickster being who grants supernatural abilities to characters in the world based on a whim, not because of any particular goal they have, but because they think it will "make things interesting"

Obviously this is very heavily inspired by the Outsider character in Dishonored universe. I love the vibe of those games, and I plan to explore some similar themes like fate, magic as a heresy and the academic understanding of magic in conflict with that

The main difference in my story is that there will also be a lot of other stuff going on in terms of magic, namely that I'll be using Scottish/Irish mythology surrounding the Fae/ Fairies and the Celtic Otherworld, so this "Outsider" character will only be one part of the story rather than the sole source of magic in the world

For those of you who are familiar with the games; if you read a story with a character like this, would it immediately read as a rip off and break your immersion in the story? Or is this Trickster character common enough in fantasy that you would regard them as both being inspired by a common archetype?

Does the Fall mean that humans are more bad than good, or just that we are unworthy of heaven?

In discussions concerning the supposed fallen state of humanity, I often hear exchanges in which a non theist asks this some variation of the question;

"Are people more bad than good?"

And a Christian will reply with some variation of "Without God, yes , we are"

My question is this; Do you as a Christian feel doctrinally committed to replying "Yes, we are".

I ask because my understanding of the situation is that all that a Christian worldview commits you to is believing that

A) As we all sin, we all fall short of perfection

B) As God is perfect, this means that we are unworthy of his presence and the gift of it eternally

Neither of these things necessarily entail that we are "more bad than good", but often in theological discussions, and in pop culture, I see Christians who seem to feel that that's a hill they need to die on for some reason

I'd love to know people's thoughts on this topic

Tough to beat the coco sandwiches at this tier, and these holy moly snack pots are pretty damn good

Søren Kierkegaard means "Stern Graveyard"

Danish Philosopher Søren Kierkegaard is often cited as the father of existentialism. He seems by all accounts to have been a pretty melancholic guy, he lost many of his siblings and his mother before reaching adulthood.

I've never seen anyone commenting on the fact that his name literally means "stern graveyard"

Anyone played Serpent horde at a tournament?

I started collecting them right before the announcement of the new edition, but never got to play them before the changes. I'm approaching the point where I'll be able to bring an army to the table but I don't fancy my chances

With Suludan, the betrayer and serpent riders all being more expensive, shift in the fight value meta and changes to heroic strike, it seems like they're in an incredibly weak position compared to last edition

In all the content I've consumed about the game since the new edition dropped I think I've heard a total of zero serpent lists discussed in a tournament context

All that is to ask; has anybody taken them to a tournament, or seen them being played? Did it seem viable at all?

Edit: serpent guard -> serpent riders

Will my Laptop run BG3?

I'm sure this has been asked a million times but I haven't been able to find a close enough answer for my specs. My suspicion is that I'm fine on everything apart from the graphics card.

Specs

OS: windows 11

CPU: i7 150U

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 (4 GB)

RAM: 16GB

I just got a new laptop and all of these components came standard in it, thought it might be worth checking how good it is here. Thanks in advance
