What to expect if you strip your Hot Toys Vi

[Overall, this post is for people like me who aren’t crafty, don’t know a lot about figures/dolls, but are big Vi and Arcane fans who wanna mess around with these specific figures].

This might be a little niche, but there’s not a whole lot out there about this, so I wanted to make this post. The armour on the Hot Toys Vi figure isn’t made to be removable, I wanted to remove it, and I’ve seen others talk about wanting to do the same. But it’s an expensive figure, and that can be kinda nerve wracking… so I bought a second one to screw around with lmao.

To elaborate on some of the captions - her chest piece and belt had to be permanently cut to be taken off. However, they hold their form decently and can still be propped back on. It’s not perfect, but it’s possible, and if you’re crafty you may even be able to make it into something that can be taken on and off again.

I ripped the pants at the seam, and did not have to damage any of the fabric itself. Again, if you’re crafty you may be able to use some kind of fastener to make them permanently detachable. Buuuut… the material doesn’t feel well made for that kind of thing. The rips in her pants have started to fray slightly here and there, they aren’t made for a lot of handling. For me, the pants are a permanent removal, not worth the hassle. That being said, you can slide a lot of looser pants over top of them without having to remove them, if you prefer that option.

The pants need to be removed if you want to remove the tank top without damage though. The tank top is glued down on her crotch area, but it came off very easily. A negligible amount of paint from the figure came off with it but… it’s her crotch. You don’t see it. Even with the figure completely bare it’s not a noticeable defect unless you’re really looking like a freak. Most clothing can also be slid over the tank top of course, it’s not totally necessary to remove, just like the pants.

The doll clothes market is huge, but this is a Hot Toys figure, and they aren’t really geared towards that. If you make your own clothes there’s not much of an issue, but if you’re like me and want to buy some, it can be hit or miss. So far, I’ve found “curvy Barbie” clothes work best. She’s got fat thighs and wide shoulders, so standard Barbie clothes don’t work that great (hit or miss). They’re also typically very feminine and not her vibe. Most male clothes for Hot Toys, Ken dolls, etc. are going to be big and fit awkward, especially the shirts. I’ve found some Ken pants to be decent as a baggy fit though.

The doll clothes market is very… “gendered,” so it’s hard when you’re looking for things for our buff, masc leaning friend. My dream was to find some formal wear, but custom is probably the way to go for that, and doll clothes are expensive. Cozy simple clothes aren’t too hard though, you can find a lot more affordable options, and there’s a decent amount made for “curvy Barbie,” which so far has worked best for me.

And for a final note! If you flex her torso too far forward, the silicone can get all bunched up on her back (last image). This is more likely to happen if you remove her armour, since it’s easier to bend her that far. She can still bend far enough for it to happen even if you don’t remove it though. This is just general advice for anyone getting the figure, be careful of that. It’s easy enough to adjust when she’s stripped, but a pain in the ass when she’s still got everything on :(

Again, I know this is kinda niche, but if there is anyone genuinely wanting to do this too, let me know if you have any questions and I can do my best to answer!

Edit: I forgot to add this, but I would highly recommend clothes with Velcro fasteners. Initially I wanted seamless clothing, but constantly taking off her head and bending her arms to extremes is tedious at best, and probably not good for the longevity of the figure at worst. She’s not really built for all that. Shirts with Velcro prevent a decent amount of that, and good quality clothes will look good regardless of the seam!

Edit: thank you. It’s a far walk from me and I’m not super familiar with the bus routes, but I think I’ll be most comfortable going to the hospital. I have a very hard time speaking in this state so phone calls may be difficult now that I think about it. I’ll make my way over there in the morning (and maybe pack a bag or something?). Again, thanks.

Need help, not sure if I just dial 911 or some kind of non emergency number, or some kind of hotline. Or if I can just walk to some kind of services.

I am feeling suicidal, but probably not at risk of suicide (as far as I know, I will always seek help before going through with it). But I can’t eat or interact with people, and I had to leave work. I’m going to therapy twice a week, but had a scenario with my therapist yesterday and don’t feel comfortable reaching out there right now.

I have a lot going on with trauma, neurodivergence, and hormonal imbalances. I moved here in November and haven’t been set up with doctors yet, I don’t know what to do or where to go for anything. I don’t know what to do or what I’m really looking for anymore.

I immigrated to the US in 2019. I left back in November, will not be returning, and will be filling out the forms to turn in my green card.

I believe it was sometime in 2024 when I got my first name legally changed. I got around to updating some things I used regularly (state ID, with social security, my bank, tax stuff), but I was taking my time with things and never finished before leaving. Health insurance, some credit cards, and most notably my green card, still have my old first name.

Will that cause any issues? I’d rather not have to submit all the name change stuff and then turn things in. Also, should I report my departure to other agencies as well? I’d like to remove all ties from the US.
