I'm looking to upgrade, and I came across the G765 from Microcenter as an appealing option. However, I have the uncanny ability to buy parts as high as possible (see 3070 purchased in the middle of the mining boom smh), and I would like a second opinion. I know the period for "freak out and buy everything" has basically passed, as parts are already inflated to shit.
My current system is my WFH system, as well as a hobby and social hub. I've also experienced freak accidents where parts simply cease functioning, and I'm becoming increasingly nervous about something tremendously expensive giving out unexpectedly- I feel like I'm due for my luck to catch up in that way. I figure that, if worst comes to worst, I upgrade now and keep my old system to the side for parts (if needed), and I would have redundancies in place to insulate myself against the rest of this shitty AI wave. Plus, selfishly, it WOULD be nice to have a new beefy system.
Is this a sensible course of action? Or am I being a big greedy rat? This is the upper limit I would be willing to spend on a PC of all things, and I don't see much in the way of price relief coming before '28.

I used canned peaches in juice, frozen to the FREEZE* line, and about half a bottle of Pillars drinkable peach greek yogurt!
