Got my first glasses with astigmatism. I have questions

Hi. I've got my first glasses and I also have astigmatism. Right eye is -1.75, - 1.0, 150 and left eye is -1.0, -1.0, 23.

This is not my "full" prescription, I have stronger myopia and stronger Cyl whyle Ax is the same. Doc told me that I have to adapt before he would be able to give me full prescription.

First of all, holy hell I was blind. Second of all, questions.

  1. Does it suppose to distort image at the edges? My lenses are not old tv shape, but image at the edges distort. Like lines are straight but they are not vertical where they are supposed to be. Also everything seems to be closer than usual.

  2. Is it safe for glasses to wear headphones while wearing glasses? Frame and handles are thin bc I have sensitive eyes and thick frames are big no.

  3. How to care about glasses? What I'm supposed to do and what not to do?

How this shape is called?

I will pick up my glasses tomorrow evening (longest shift ever I guess). These are my first glasses and I sensitive eyes so small frames are big no for me. They are not compatletely rough though. We'll see about distortion and stuff bc it's - 1.75 -1.00 on one eye and - 1.00 -1.00 on other

Fueling before short runs after whole day at office

Basically this. Only time I can run is after working at office. Yes I have good breakfast and lunch, but I am usually fatigued or very tired before run. My solution is teaspoon of honey, although I'm open to other options. It has to be something usual (not gels, fancy smoothies with 101 ingredients and not something very local

Any chance I can run 5k before November 1st (and not be the last one on the race)

Hi. There is a nice opportunity to run 5k in my hometown at November 1st. I can run 2k without stopping at 6:10-6:20. If I try to run slower my weak knee will hurt, so I run consistently on 6-6:30 pace. I run 2 times a week, 3 times a week I'm lifting weights. I run for 3 weeks or so.

Is it wise to sign up for this race? It's a bit pricey for me but I really want to participate in it

Forerunner 165 or 170

Hi. I'm not wealthy person, and I want a smart/fitness watch (I don't have watch at all). I'm lifting weights, hiking and running as my main activities. Forerunner 170 have some nice options like training readiness and others, but how useful they are? Do I actually need them? Are they actually useful and worth that difference in cost that can cover nylon band so my skin will be fine (I had problems with silicone bands in past). Also, how accurate heart monitor is? My previous noname watch was "recording heart rate" even when I wasn't wearing it.

Any thoughts or insights would be appreciated

Faster pace doesn't hurt my knees as slow pace

I tried running at 7:00-8:00 pace but my knees hurted. 5:30 was too fast for my lungs and heart but knees were fine.

Can someone please explain why does this happen? Should I do something about it?

Can someone please explain how to run midfoot and not just slam my whole feet

Hi. I've tried running after doing stepper for past couple of years. While running slow (≈6/km) I've noticed that I'm basically slamming my foot down, putting all of my weight on leg and repeating the process. This causes pain in my knee. I don't have this problem when running fast (chasing bus or something similar). I was not over striding

I've read that running midfoot is best for knees but at the same time I can't see the difference between running midfoot and gently slamming my foot down.

Why my storm sorcerer tiefling can quite successfully read thoughts?

I'm newbie to dnd and game. From what I see it's not via tadpole bc it doesn't have tadpole animation. And I need to throw dice. My tiefling (she is also outlaw or how that third criteria is called) is successful in that at for 3 hours of game I never failed once.

Have I did something while creating a character or is it common ability for dnd/bg3?

How are you waking up early for cycling

So for work I usually wake up at 6am to get dressed, have breakfast and take a bus. Cycling to work is NOT an option bc it's a 2 hour ride to different city, most of the time in underground metro.

I see how you manage to wake up at 5 and I am wandering HOW. How much hours of sleep do you get?

Silly question - how are you visiting bathroom while cycling

For the first time in my life I went on "long" cycling trip - about hour and a half. Before that I had half a glass of water and bathroom visit. Half of the trip in I wanted to visit bathroom. I wished I was able to cycle more but I had to finish it early due to bathroom break.

I'm cycling on the forest roads. There are occasional people and cyclists so finding nearest bush is not an option - also due to mosquitos and other stuff. And I want to drink water too but it means even more bathroom breaks.

Any tips please? Sweating all the water out is not a really good option here.

Advices for newbie

Hi. I was cycling my whole life but it was never serious - just fun rides around neighborhood. Now I want to take it more serious. I don't have any big safe places to ride around as I see in tiktok or insta. Maximum is several blocks away from my home. I don't want to go to gym bc you know, fresh air and so on. Any advices please?
