I updated my Civilization VI auto map pins mod after all
Hey everyone,
I originally did not plan to keep updating this mod, but it turned out to be one of the very few things I made on the internet that some people actually liked. So I decided to come back to it and make an update.
The mod is called Mega Auto Pins. It automatically places suggested map pins for cities and districts after you press Shift + G.
Main changes in this update:
- Reworked city and district placement logic.
- Improved recommendations for existing cities.
- Added safer next-city placement logic.
- Better checks against placing new cities too close to existing cities, city-states, or enemy cities.
- Improved Harbor placement.
- Improved Aqueduct checks.
- Added stronger protection against placing districts on valuable resources.
- Added builder hints for improvements like Mines, Quarries, and Fishing Boats.
- Shift + G now clears old player pins and recalculates a fresh plan.
- Fixed several bad or invalid placement suggestions.
The mod is still experimental and far from perfect, but it should be much better than the old version.
It works best together with Detailed Map Tacks.
Thanks to everyone who tried it, commented, or gave feedback. I honestly did not expect anyone to care about this project, so it was pretty cool to see that some people found it useful.
