Is it unusal for all 5 of my Aeron casters to disintegrate at the same time?

After 14 years of using my Aeron, all 5 original casters are starting to break apart, with little pieces of the tread breaking off day by day.

Given they all started to break at the 14 year mark, does that mean the wear and tear applied incredibly evenly over that long of a period?

PSA - If you own property, you should sign up for fraud alerts

https://recordsearch.kingcounty.gov/LandmarkWeb/FraudAlert

I just learned that King County provides an alert system any time a document is recorded to your property parcel ID. I went looking for this because I watched a Youtube video on deed fraud (via quit claim) and another video on illegitimate liens.

Seems like a no-brainer alert considering your property is one of your greatest assets.

My Aeron casters are end of life - Should I replace with HM, knock-off, or 3rd party casters?

After many years of service, my casters look like this. I just threw away the little pieces that broke off.

I can replace with official Herman Miller casters (which are the most expensive option), or I can buy some knock-off with the same design on Amazon, or I can replace with a totally different caster design entirely.

Just curious what all of you decided to do, with preferably a short review of your replacement casters.

What do you want changed AND preserved for next official standard Xbox controller?

My #1 item to change would be to have quieter buttons, especially the ABXY buttons. I want them as quiet as high end office mice have gotten. To me that's the standard.

My #1 item to preserve is the removable battery. I like a quick battery swap and never having to plug in wires.

Fidelity FullView - needs disclaimer for level of security for linked accounts

When I link a financial account to FullView, there are two options:
- login to the external account on the external bank's official website
- provide the external account's login credentials directly to Fidelity

The former is a lot more secure because you are simply authorizing Fidelity to view your balance from your external bank. You are not directly providing Fidelity (nor any other 3rd party) with your login and password.

There really needs to be a disclaimer so that the average person knows the difference between the two linking methods, and that one is inherently safer than the other. It's also possible that the latter breaks the terms of use of the external bank, which many people don't realize.

SpeedX - why am I unable to update delivery instructions?

In order to update delivery instructions, I have to use the AI chatbot. However, when I actually provide those instructions, it's unable to do it for unknown reasons. Any help?

[WA] [Condo] My state does not seem to have explicitly-worded safeguards for how funds are kept

I was just reviewing the laws and WA state has no safeguards for how funds are kept.

In my HOA, the Bylaws currently state that all funds must be kept in federally insured (e.g. FDIC) accounts. However, the Bylaws can be changed by just a majority vote of the Board.

That means the following scenario could technically happen:
- Board votes to remove the "federally insured" requirement.
- Board decides to place common funds into risky investments or high-fee investments.
- Common funds balance loses value and everyone suffers.

The above scenario should not even be possible at all. It's insane my state doesn't have tighter guardrails.

Still finding my Xbox controller from previous gen useful, except for the rubber being worn off. What do you all purchase to renew these sticks? I'm in the United States.
