I made the day 116 dish!

Followed the ingredients list, but quadrupled the recipe, and for both cinnamon and vanilla I measured with my heart!

They were so damn good I forgot to take a plated picture. My 3 year old housed one and asked for another, my 11 month old ate some, my wife loved em and said I need to make em again!

Gonna look into food prepping these puppies and I'll report back!

Thanks for the awesome recipes Sticky!

Had this guy at a local restaurant for lunch

On it was - Cheddar - Cayenne Butter - Spicy Mustard - Pickled Jalapeños - Red Onion - Dill Pickles - Lettuce - Tomato

Wasn't crazy spicy, but it certainly was tasty!

Let's keep this going!

First family camping trip with the little ones under our belt

Got invited to join the in-laws on their lot as they got a lot for their trailer for the long weekend and it allowed a tent.

I bought the Coleman 8 man when it was on sale and did a test setup in the backyard, but this was my first time doing a tarp setup. So glad I got the large tarp I did because there were torrential rains on Sunday.

Packed up the tent this morning and it was still bone dry! First pic was my initial setup, second and third were the final iteration to help direct the rain away from the tent and it worked! Will probably pick up a few more tent poles for the tarp to better set it up.

Edit to add setup and more info as a few people have asked for the info:

For the poles I used SANLIKE Telescopic Tarp Poles Heavy Duty, which I found on Amazon. They are a 4 pack that I got on sale for 75$. They are sturdy and held up well, but they don't have a drain hole, so after all the rain, as I was collapsing them, they shot water out like a SuperSoaker. I'll have to drill holes in the bottom to not have this issue next time.

The tarp is a Vevor 10mil 20x30 tarp, also found on amazon. I also purchased 300 feet(overkill) of Sumise 12 strand Parachord to use as additional guy lines and for anything else I needed. I ended up using 1 roll to make secondary guylines for the poles as their instructions say to use 2, but they only give you one per pole.

I started this build with the tent going up first, then I laid the tarp behind it and tried to get it evenly spaced on both sides. Then I staked the tarp and dragged it over the tent. From there, I just eyed where I thought would be the best placement for the poles and figured aligning with the corners of the tent would be the best option (turned out to work really well).

The first night it wasn't windy or anything so I only used one guyline per pole, then the following day I made new lines from the parachord I bought and attached those to the poles. I also then adjusted the tarp so there were two points of egress for the rain once it started falling.

In the end, I managed to put the tent away dry and everything under that tarp was bone dry as well.

I hope this answers everyone's setup questions, if not though, don't hesitate to ask!

I can't wait for the mods to open up picture abilities

I finally managed to pull off the full calling peanut butter challenge, but alas, the no photo uploads all of a sudden means I can't show it off. I hold the image ban gets lifted soon enough.

Some cauliflower tacos I made the other night

Bought the tortillas at a local shop that specializes in making them from scratch in house and the cauliflower at a local market.

Roasted the cauliflower for 20 min, then coated it in salsa matcha and roasted for another 10 min tossing halfway.

Topped them with homemade pickled red onion and lime cilantro crema. Diced and salted tomatoes, cotija (underneath so it got a bit of a melt) cilantro and diced up jalapeno.

Sunday night dinner

Hadn't made burgers in a bit and kept seeing some delicious ones on here so I did it.

Sesame seed bun, on top there were pickles and baleron, in the middle was the patty (extra lean beef mixed with some pork, veal and cheese), 2 slices of American cheese melted, then shredduce, salted tomatoes, chopped onions and jalapenos. Both sides of the bun were smeared with burger sauce.

Made one without the jalapeno for the missus, and a plain ketchup only one for the wee one.

They were pretty dang good!

Quick sandwich after a morning walking around a bog

Made this little guy today. Bottom up: Mayo, mustard, salt and peppered tomatoes, Black Forest Ham, herbed havarti, baleron, iceberg lettuce, mustard and mayo. It's on a poppy seed egg bun bought at the deli I got the meat from.

Came out pretty solid for a quick sandwich.

First attempt at Pikliz

Tried my hand at Pikliz the other day. Cabbage, carrots, green onions and then a small bit of Scotch bonnet for the heat. 4 days in and the flavours are coming along nicely!

They tried to talk me out of going Thai spicy

Went to a local place for their pad Thai as I heard they made it delicious and proper spicy. Got there and they had heat levels 1-5. I asked about thai spicy and the owner said it was possible but maybe I should try level 4 and they could give me a small bit of extra chilies in case I wanted to make it to a 5. When I said I'll go with the Thai level she questioned again, so I reassured her that I wouldn't complain if it was "too spicy". Turned out delicious and had good heat but definitely I could've gone hotter. I'll try Thai level 2 next time as I heard they do that.

First pic is Thai spicy, second pick is level 1 spicy.

Looking forward to going back no matter what as the flavour was great.

Blackout blinds vs thermal blankets

I'm finally getting back into camping with a 3.5 year old and 9 month old. We got the Coleman Hampton tent(10x14) and when testing it it's bright as hell once the sun hits it. I've been seeing on this sub mention of using blackout blinds or some store thermal blankets as sun reflectors. What I'm wondering is what do people think is a better option to help with both heat reduction and sun blocking so that I'm not woken up at first sunrise, but also to help my kids fall asleep when it's still bright out!

Thanks for any help and advice you can give me! I'm super excited to finally get back into camping.

▲ 6 r/tall

Hey tall guys, just found this sub and I'm hoping y'all might be able to help.

I'm looking for tank top undershirts. Fruit it the loom and Hanes used to be decent with long enough undershirts to be able to tuck in and not pull out of my pants constantly. Now though, they are short and cheap in quality, often ripping or getting holes, in a short period of time.

Any recommendations for tank top style undershirts to fit a longer torso?

PS - I'm only 6'3" and the "long" undershirts from the previously mentioned undershirt companies just aren't long enough. Also, I'm located in Canada if that changes things
