Introduction advice?

Hi guys!
So im introducing my ~3 yr old resident cat to a 4 month old kitten, and it isn’t going badly, but I would like some advice. And my BF is new to cats and is very worried about RC never getting used to our kitten.

We’ve scent swapped a ton, had them eat on opposite sides of the door, and put the kitten in a playpen at least 1-2 times a day, and I usually go in there with him so he can play. We’ve done this for about a two weeks (maybe less).

RC will usually look at him and sometimes hiss (but the amount of hissing for every look has gone down significantly), but sometimes she will walk over (one time she ran over) and hiss and swat at him, then then just loaf nearby, usually watching the bird videos on tv. While i’m in the playpen, my bf usually gives her treats as positive reinforcement. Is her behavior a cause for concern?

I hate the way she approaches just to swat, but the way she then loafs next to the playpen, sometimes yawning and with her back to him implies that she isn’t that stressed. For reference, she shows no signs of stress besides hissing. No airplane ears, normal posture, etc. The pic I used is an example of her doing that, but she’s often closer to the playpen.

Also, she’s only met him outside of the playpen once, and when she did, he only approached her, she tried to keep her distance.

I’m also wondering if she dislikes that I’m in there with him, since i’m her favorite person. Please tell me if i should be doing anything differently! Does it sound like she’s making progress?

Also, he’s getting neutered next week and i’m wondering if his unfixed hormones might be bothering her? idk. She is spayed btw.

does this mark look like ringworm on my arm???? not itchy

It’s very small, not itchy at all, but such a perfect ring shape that i’m convinced it’s ringworm. I don’t see any other similar spots anywhere else.
I’m in mexico and someone on the trip got a parasite so i’m a bit nervous (not that this mark is that parasite, just in general)

Told My Roommate About The Spiders

Yesterday I finally told my roommate about the spiders that live in my brain and control my thoughts. I was really worried she would react like others have, by calling my parents and telling them I need help, but she actually took it very well.

Weirdly, I did notice she’s started locking her bedroom door at night (I was twisting the knob to try to get in) and I thought that was a little rude. Maybe the spiders have started controlling her thoughts too?

Help me w indecision

I absolutely love coloring, but my inability to make decisions is lowkey ruining it. I open the coloring book, can’t decide which page I want to color. If I pick a page, I cannot decide on a theme or color scheme or even pick a single color for one item on the page. When I had only a few markers, I’d tell myself ‘i’ll do this page when I have X specific color’ and now that I have a lot, I feel overwhelmed by choice. A lot of it comes down to perfectionism and feeling like I might make the wrong choice, so why make a choice at all? Does anyone have advice on just coloring for the fun of it, putting less pressure on the end result? Or really anything that helped you with indecision?

Ringworm advice?

My sweet baby (10WK, male) has mild ringworm. We’ve only had him for 4 days, and just found out from the foster that some of his siblings were diagnosed.

He hasn’t met our (2F) resident cat, and the rescue and foster were telling me it’s unlikely that she’ll catch it if we keep him separated. I have a few questions for you all.

One: the foster said she’s willing to take him back for the duration of the treatment (4 weeks). Is this a good idea?
Honestly, I don’t think I’d have the heart to do that, plus our resident cat has been getting used to his scent and I don’t want to start again from square one.

Secondably, (assuming we don’t temporarily return him), what advice do you have for this situation? How did you navigate ringworm and stay sane? Any advice at all would be so helpful.

Cat introduction success stories? (tell me I’m being ridiculous)

I’m introducing my resident 2yr old cat to our new kitten, who we’ve had for not even 24 hours. And trust me, I’m well aware that what I’m about to describe is normal. I’d just love to hear people’s introduction stories as reassurance.
Our resident cat barely cared when we first brought him home, (we were keeping him separated in a room she doesn’t go in much), but we had to transfer him to our bedroom temporarily and now she’s very upset (I think because she likes the bedroom).
The kitten, of course, can’t wait to meet her.
She gets angry sometimes when I try to pet her (but she’s falling asleep on my lap right now and I definitely smell like him). I’m not used to her being less affectionate, I’ve never seen her hiss at me or get angry before. I’ve introduced cats before, but our resident cat is my actual baby and it kills me to see her upset. However, no puffy tail, or arched back. Just hissing.
Someone please remind me this isn’t gonna turn her into a different cat, and she isn’t gonna hate me forever!

Name update- meet our little baby Butters!!

We went with the name Butters because it goes perfectly with our other cat’s name and we enjoy south park!
Every suggestion we got was adorable (shoutout to the person who suggested TomTom) but Butters checked all the boxes!!

Need help with a name for my new kitten! (male)

Adopting this little guy very soon, cannot think of a name for him! He’s 9 weeks old and just adorable. He’s gonna be a companion to my 2yr old girl, Toast. I’m open to a name that goes with Toast, but equally open to something unrelated.
Human names and food names are my favs. Bonus points for a historical or reality TV theme.

i’m pregnant and it’s chatgpt’s fault

I sent chatgpt all my personal medical data and asked if I should rawdog my man. Chat said I was “”unlikely to get pregnant”” but to “still be careful” so of course, I let my man rawdog me like crazy.

Now my period is late…. can I sue?

I asked chat if i’m pregnant and it literally told me to “”take a pregnancy test to know for sure”” now i’m fuming.
