Pain in my right abdomen side

Hi just looking to see if anyone has had any pains around their right abdomen side? Not sure if it’s normal. I am around 29 weeks and haven’t see a midwife yet for the 28 week check up it’s next week due to the community midwife’s availability and I don’t have access to her either. But gosh today I keep getting weird pains that come and go from my right side not super painful but enough to notice for sure. not sure if that’s baby moving or placenta or just round ligament pains. Wanted to ask if anyone else had these before potentially ringing triage unit.

Tmi: third trimester discharge

Has anyone else had similar experience? Been getting some light green watery discharge recently. Just randomly and nothing too heavy and it usually goes back to its previous color and texture. Went to my ob and midwife who recommended a swab and was negative for everything. Few days later went for movements and they offered to check again with speculum its just recurring thrush. Been given some medication to help it go away! But was wondering what’s the discharge situation like in the final 11 weeks ? My midwife said hopefully the thrush will
Go away after birth but for now stick with the pressarys

Partner traveling around 32/33 weeks

Is it risky or is it fine if my partner travels 2/3 hours by plane for a weekend trip? I know it’s early in third trimester so i provisionally agreed to him going. No one else in the city that I know of who can help incase anything started early. Would you be okay with it? Or is it too close to birth?

I love my mum but her advice can be overbearing.

She’s had 4 kids in her time. Each one was vaginal and all healthy apart from us being lazy and her going in for reduced moving in the end. She’s been super helpful and excited but now that I’m
Closer to my birth month she keeps asking about delivery and pushing me to take long walks everyday. If I mention my symptoms she’s like huh what is that? I always back it up with what I’ve been told by midwife or OB. Like I had some bleeding in second trimester which was scary so I was told to
Take it easy. I was also told my placenta is low lying so most likely c section among other medical issues I have. (Tokophobia) she was pushing a vaginal birth on me. But recently she’s always asking why I’m not constantly being active. I have broken sleep low iron and I’m tired. She also has mentioned I’m getting fat. I’m not even that big tbh. I’m getting tired of her comments. I feel bad because she does help and is going to help me a lot. But Jesus please these comments are unhelpful. I’ve decided to not speak to any other women in my
Family either regarding birth because everyone just pushes their own agenda. My SIL was fear mongering me about recovery from c sections due her pregnancies and trauma bur tbh it wasn’t due to to the section itself she had other issues. and no walking on stairs like ok I live in a flat I’m still able bodied to do that. I’m so sick of hearing people
Demonise c-sections and act like it’s a failure of a pregnancy if you have one. It seems like the misogynistic Olympics of pushing women to suffer and compete for the most natural birth. I honestly don’t want the invisible brownie points. I just need a healthy baby!

Please suggest some wallet friendly ragdoll wet food?

So my 4 year old lady won’t eat her food anymore I’ve tried several different brands like untamed, applaws, blink and scrumbles.

She only eats her yoghurts and dry food and water.

I am desperate to find a brand she likes please give us some suggestions based in the uk.

Thank you!

What is your movement pattern like around 26/27 weeks ?

I’m 27 weeks on Wednesday but just wanted to know what other people’s experience has been like? I have the most random movements at the moment I can never tell. I did pop into triage 3 days ago for some peace of mind and all was well then! Is there anything to watch out for as a first time mum during these weeks? I know they said it’s not till 29/30 weeks you develop a pattern really but interesting to know what your expectations and experience had been like for this time period?

Parents who couldn’t regulate their emotions

As I get older and get ready to welcome my own child into the world I keep thinking about my childhood and the childhood of those around me. How seeing my own parents would scream in me and my siblings faces and never wanted to even get to know us. I had a very abusive absent father so can’t say much about his parenting but he was always so irate by his own kids. Kids he had willingly too. I grew up self conscious and quiet as a mouse to avoid confrontation due to my parents being so emotionally unstable and sometimes physical too. When I got to my teen years I also saw my aunts and uncles treating toddlers with no kindness or respect or empathy. expecting children to act like adults. I feel like the adults acted more dis regulated than adults. It makes me sick to see people casually advocating for oppressing kids and hitting them at any time because they can’t seem to even understand their child’s wants or needs. Babies don’t cry for fun or manipulation. I guess all I can do is change the cycle and love my own children. But seeing people advocating for hitting kids just is wrong. It doesn’t make them a better adult either.

Anyone else had a miserable time mentally being pregnant?

Mental health is in the gutter do not know what’s wrong with me at all. Been speaking to a perinatal midwife too but feeling so overwhelmed, anxious and mentally drained. Have also been crying since yesterday. I felt so guilty I went to triage baby is doing well. So why am I so upset all the time. I feel so sensitive about missing out on things and eating things. I feel like my partner doesn’t understand how I’m feeling. Friends are busy. Feeling like I’m a penny on the ground. I’m so scared and overwhelmed all the time. Just tired

Being pregnant has been lonely and exhausting so far

First of all I want to say I am so happy to be with a healthy child. And that even tho there were medically scary moments it’s been still okay and I hope it stays that way till the last second as I get ready for the last remaining few weeks Emotionally I have never felt so alone and rejected. I feel like I’ve just been living for my baby and nothing else. No one understands sometimes when you’re pregnant you can’t just always be like you were before. Those with tiring first trimesters will understand and even then the second trimester hasn’t been easy with infection and worry about baby constantly. I can’t switch it off and just go back to how I was. I wish those who are close to me made more of an effort. I don’t even know what to say to friends anymore who simply don’t ever check in and don’t answer messages. I guess friendships are fragile as People go through difficult times and different phases. I get it if you’re not interested in pregnancy it’s hard to care about it. But what about the person behind it? They still exist no? Tired of asking people the bare minimum. Decided not to do a baby shower because forcing people to show up doesn’t feel good either. Can’t even say you’re tired without being told so is everyone else. Can’t complain because social media shows perfect pregnancies and they don’t have issues.

I feel so guilty will my child think I’m a loser because people around don’t care for me ? Because I don’t have the perfect diet and eat random things sometimes like cereal bars for breakfast. Or fries for dinner. I want the best for them but feel let down by everyone around me. I don’t want them to feel this too.

Sorry just a little rant feeling quite down, I’ve got a perinatal mental health midwife I hope that will help. Not sure what else I can really do.

Unwanted bay gender comments

So I found out I’m having a boy. It’s my first child so I just want a healthy baby! Yes I always thought it would be a girl but it’s 50/50 so I’m at peace with it. The only person i know who isn’t at peace with it is my MIL. Unfortunately she always keeps going on about not having any girls in the grandchildren. Mind you she’s got 3 daughters so. I can’t control the babies gender can I..anyways giving birth in like 3 months I know she’s going to say some crazy things.

What advice can I give my friend who’s struggling after birth with mental health and responsibilities alone ?

So a friend has reached out that she’s being burdened with the responsibility of being postpartum with a almost 2 month old baby and her husband outright refuses to do any work around the house because he’s already got a job. He works a 9-5 office job He does bottle feeds when he feels like it and refuses to learn how to clean or cook as it’s not his job. My friend has no family near by or support and her in laws have said that she needs to stand on her own two feet now. Apparently everyone thinks because she had a ‘natural delivery’ she’s able to do everything now. She’s mentioned a dip in her mental health too recently. How else can i support her despite being far away myself and also expecting soon.

Anyone had their lashes or hair done during pregnancy?

Really want to do some tlc but been hearing conflicting opinions on if dying hair is okay. My roots are insane and now I just feel my hair looks a mess overall from not being able to do it for the last 6 months. If anyone has had any beauty treatments which ones did you have ?

Anyone done a short city break during second trimester?

So I’m over 24 weeks and doing a city break and noticed I was so tired after the first day I haven’t overdone it because my usual holiday steps are around 20k and today I did 10k steps Noticing my knees are also hurting which they do sometimes anyway during pregnancy but how have others felt during time away when your pregnant? I’m shattered and glad I’m not doing any walking next few days more than needed because damn my legs! Do babies in the womb also get tired when we’re more active?

Looking for good food healthy food recommendations for extreme hunger pangs

So not looking for medical advice as I’ve already been to see OB today and triage and currently on iron tablets daily to help build my iron back up! But I had no idea how hungry and out of breath this makes you….i just had a quick dinner but still starving. What are some good foods to eat to stay full longer and not have low blood sugar dips? I was also told I was measuring bump on 97th percentile at 24 weeks so midwife said baby might be a big and need extra scan to see. I’m sure they’ll make me do the GD test too at this rate. Anyone else feel knackered at this stage? The anemia and hunger are killing me!!!

growing pains at 23 weeks anyone ?

Anyone else had like a slight discomfort in their abdomen around 23 weeks 6 days ? Been feeling a slight discomfort like something is going on inside my uterus or something. I’m having movements but I wonder if my stomach is growing again. My stomach is soft and my abdomen isn’t super hard either. I’m going to check with my midwife tomorrow incase it’s anything else but feeling tired from the discomfort for sure. Could it even be trapped gas ?

What to expect 23 week movement

Hi so I’m 23 weeks and 5 days today I have perinatal anxiety ( I have a midwife for this) and I’ve felt baby move this morning and mid afternoon it’s a bit quiet now. Anyone else who’s been past this stage had quiet hours or moments ? I know they said they can hide or change positions so just wondering how it’s been for those with a posterior placenta? Thinking to wait till evening if I’m still feeling anxious. Is a few hours generally okay for them to be quiet ? It’s my first time so no idea how this works. Looking to see if anyone else has had similar experiences

What’s pregnancy like in Pakistan ?

So I’m from the west and currently pregnant and I keep thinking about how pregnancy must be in Pakistan for women who live in urban and rural areas and what the healthcare looks like and what women do for healthy gestations! I know there is a push towards having more boys than girls in the subcontinent but I’m fascinated how this journey is for many women. Would really like to know what your experience is with this and if anyone has any recommendations for reading on maternal health in Pakistan too!
