Fun facts for DM loading screen?

Idk if it was on this sub or somewhere else but I saw someone mention their DM had little loading screen fun facts on folding cards that they put on their DM screen whenever they have to look something up. I would love to suprise my DM with some home made loading screen cards. I am however quite new to DnD, so I'm wondering if anyone knows some fun facts I could use for these cards.

Finished my first ever Stormcast unit, as a beginner I'm incredibly proud of this one!

After having followed a bunch of tutorials for Skaven, it feels really good to just come up with an idea myself and execute it. Any tips or feedback is appreciated <3

Actions + Advanced Actions cards?

Hello again lovely OPR community.

I recently got the advanced rules and wanted to make explainer cards with all the base and advanced actions on it. Mostly so my wife and I can easily see what our options are when playing (we're both very new).

However I am far from a decent graphic designer and was wondering if maybe someone had already done this, because I couldn't find any online.

If no one has made something like this yet I'll get on it and drop them here if anyone else would like them.

Difference between mission cards and side-missions?

*all of this is for AoF:Skirmish btw*

So I just got the advanced rules via the Patreon, and I was wondering if there's any printable cards for the side-missions?

I'm looking at the mission cards resource you can download, and they're very different from the "Advanced Missions - Side-Missions" you see on page 28 of the AoF:S advanced ruleset. I was wondering whats up with that and if there's also printable cards available for these side-missions.

Best way to make mini showcase for reddit?

So I'm a complete noob that just started his very first army (Skaven). I am also not that familiair with Reddit. I want to make like a lil' "Diary of a Noob" showcase of my first mini's ever painted and was wondering how to go about it.

For instance idk how many video's/pictures you can upload in a single post, or if just making a YT vid and linking it works/is allowed.

Anyway this is all because a month ago u/WaffleHouseHydra told me he'd love to see the mini's that I've done so far in some random thread where I asked abt how to highlight metallics.

Any advice for how to post a showcase on here would be greatly appreciated ❤️

Which advanced rulebook to buy?

So I've been getting into painting AoS mini's with my wife and we've started running games using OPR Fantasy Skirmish. I am absolutely loving the list builder and general accesibility of the whole system. Because of this I wanted to support the company a bit and buy the 5 dollar advanced rule set.

There seem to be advanced rule books for the different game modes (Fantasy, Fantasy Skirmish, Grimdark etc etc) and I was wondering if there's any tangible difference between these rulebooks? Like should I just get the Fantasy Skirmish advanced rules, or am I missing out on some stuff that might be in the regular Fantasy Advanced Rules.

Would love to know so I can buy the rulebook best suited for us and support OPR a bit. Thanks in advance for any advice ❤️

Warden ability question

Does the "Warden" ability also trigger when getting hit with spells?

Like let's say a caster is 12" away from my knight which has warden. Does the caster get -1 on his spell roll because he's over 9" away, or does Warden only apply to charges and non-magical ranged attacks?

Some questions from two total noobs

So me and my wife have recently got into painting AoS and are trying to play games via OPR Skirmish. We ran into some questions after trying out a game just now.

Casters: So I'm running a Warlock Engineer that's a Caster(2). After using a spell, can this model still shoot his rifle as well? Or is it only melee attacks that count for attacks after a spell?

Wounds & shaken: I mostly understand how these work, I'm just wondering if there's a difference for already activated units vs not. So lets say

Scenario 1: a basic grunt has not yet activated in a round and gets hit. He saves his wound effect with a 2 on the die. Can I dismiss his shaken status in this round and be ready to go next round?

Scenario 2: same basic grunt is already activated, gets hit, gets shaken. I assume I'll have to spend the entire next round idle before I can get rid of the shaken status.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are both loving the OPR system but we find our selves googling alot of the rules since we're both completely new to wargaming.

What are your go-to Skaven skin/fur recipes?

I've recently got into AoS via the Introduction set together with my wife and we've fallen in love with the Skaven. We're working hard on our clanrats and was curious to see what everybody's favorite recipes are for their skin/fur. I've picked up some contrast paints to make life easier, but I'm looking to add some variety from the usual black and browns.

So, as the title reads: what's your favorite recipe for Skaven fur/skin?

Priming carboard?

Just got into wargaming and in the process of making my first terrain pieces.

Was wondering if I could just coat my cardboard buildings in spray-on primer, or will that cause the cardboard to warp? Are there any particular primers that are good or will any spray can do the trick, if at all?

Terrain making tips/guides for a newcomer?

Been getting into painting miniatures and we've been trying out playing games using OPR. Thing is we have 0 terrain. I've got some clay, glue, styrofoam, milk cartons and popsicle sticks and was wondering if anyone got some easy/quick guides for making terrain? I've never done this before and just really wanna get some piecies done to put on the table.

Any advice or youtube links or whatever would be greatly appreciated ❤️

Favorite homebrew additions/subtractions of the core rules?

So I'm incredibly new to wargaming, played some Killteam w/ a friend and been painting the AoS intro set together with my wife. We've been wanting to play and after some research I'm thinking OPR might be a better way to get into actual wargaming together.

Was wondering what the community tends to change abt rhe rules? We ran some Skirmish games to test and found morale checks and only scoring at the end of last round pretty annoying. I feel like alternate morale/wound rules and progressive scoring system would improve gameplay (for us) alot.

So I was wonderint, what alternate combat/scoring rules do you guys tend yo use?

Studio lights + super clamp compatability?

So I'm trying to set up a small studio space for filming talking heads and such. The space is quite small, so we're looking to mount the lights from a ceiling truss or autopole. My question is as follows:

Pretty much all studio lights attach to 5/8" spigot. I'm looking to use a superclamp which comes with a Junior pin that has 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 thread. Do studio lights attach to the 3/8"-16 thread pin? It shows on the pictures of the product that it does.

I am quite unfamiliar with gaffing, so I'm sorry if this is a stupid quesiton. Thanks in advance for any answers <3

How to not suck so much (total noob)

Only on about 70 hours so far, sitting at ~400 ELO on 62 games played with a whopping 32% win rate. I'm trying to learn build orders n stuff but I just seem to suck so bad.

Just had the same Gurjaras player 3 games back to back. On game 2 I knew exactly what he'd do (camel scout rush + man at arms), made archers and spears to counter and dude still walzed right over me. I'm looking back my replays and trying to learn, but man I just suck so much ass at this game. From idle TC time to economy to surviving feudal rushes or tower drops, I just can't seem to get anything right.

So, dear AoE2 Reddit, what is your golden tip for improving in this beautiful game that I suck so much as at?
