Catanzaro lose the match but advance to Serie B playoff finals on aggregate [Palermo 2:0 Catanzaro (2:3 agg.)]

Palermo score early (3') to put pressure on the visitors, but Catanzaro's three goal advantage proves decisive. Palermo add another goal late (89') but can't find third goal that would have secured their progression.

As such, the final is set: Monza v Catanzaro (to be played 29.5.26 at Monza).

[EDIT: The final is two legs: 24.5.26 at Catanzaro, 29.5.26 at Monza.]

The Hooters - All You Zombies (1982)

Full disclosure: I kind of like this song. It brings back fond 1980s memories. However, it's a bit...odd, since the lyrics are mostly retelling of Bible stories. Had some fairly constant rotation in the 80s, but most people from the era would likely just remember "And We Danced."

Barry Can't Swim - Deadbeat Gospel (feat. somedeadbeat) (2023)

Scotland squad announcement for 2026 World Cup with Deadbeat Gospel playing in the background. Thought some here might enjoy the song's appearance "in the wild."

Eddie Murphy, ft. Michael Jackson - Whatzupwitu [1993]

Just...why? I remember when this came out, and I was like, "What?" It's like Eddie Murphy's attempt to be Prince. And PM Dawn. Just so bizarre.

Fishbone - Party At Ground Zero [1985]

Keeping with my (unintentional) recent trend of posting songs/videos that feature weird masks, this gem was another one that I caught one late night on MTV (likely on 120 Minutes, as with the others). It was my introduction to ska.

[Note: This video was directed by Harry Selick, who went on to direct The Nightmare Before Christmas.]

Anyway, great song and fun video!

Tunak Tunak Tun - Daler Mehndi [1998]

This might be cheating a little bit (as I didn't see it on MTV but rather on a Top 10 on MuchMusic - or some other local public TV countdown, I can't remember exactly), but I think it definitely fits the spirit of this sub.

I was in my college apartment (late-1998/early-1999), and we used to love watching this random Top 10 music videos show, particularly as it would include "world music," and one night this absolute gem popped on. We were like, "This is the greatest video ever made."

Anyway, enjoy the wonderfulness! (BTW, if this breaks the sub rules, since I didn't actually see it on MTV, feel free to take it down.)

Shriekback - Nemesis [1985]

Classic song/video from another one of my favorite bands. Caught this video well after it was originally released (likely, again, on 120 Minutes in the early 90s - they used to do "throwback" videos as part of the rotation) and had another "WTF was that?!" moment.

I mean, anytime a band can somehow work in the word "parthenogenesis" to a song, you're guaranteed for something a little out-of-the ordinary.

And, yeah, Shriekback. A massively (IMHO) underappreciated band.

Meat Beat Manifesto - Psyche Out [1990]

Meat Beat Manifesto is one of my all-time favorite bands, and this is the song/video that started it all for me.

I originally saw it late one night on 120 Minutes (which, IMHO, is the all-time greatest show on MTV) and was transfixed. I had never heard anything quite like it, and (as you'll see) the video just left me kind of thinking "WTF did I just watch?! Whatever it is, I want more!!!"

The funny part, though, is that the album version of this song (on the album 99%) is a completely different song. Like not a slightly different version, but a totally different song (which was quite confusing). [Note: A single/EP was released that has this version.]

Anyway, it's likely that this video only appeared on MTV a handful of times given that there was really no other place other than 120 Minutes to show it, and since I watched that show religiously, it's possible that this video aired as few as one time (in early 1990) as I never saw it again.
