What is the class system like in Bikini Bottom? Are non fish considered a minority?

Bit of a more goofy post but I’d rather have this discussion with people here than on the spongebob subreddit as I feel like they wouldn’t think about it as deeply.

I want to know if the fish view the main characters differently as they aren’t (typical) fish. The way some of the fish say “Krabs” sometimes seems a little racially/specially motivated to me. Why are main characters seemingly segregated from the other fish? Is the city a more affluent area than where Spongebob and the others live? So many questions…this is probably the stupidest way ive ever procrastinated.

Having rich friends persue the arts while i’m just here

Saw a post here earlier today about being very jealous about not having the opportunity to persue art on a full time basis while their friend is able to, because of financial security. It wasnt worded amazingly and most people came for their head but I sympathise a bit.

What she expressed is such a real feeling with artists. There are some artists who aren’t very good who have so much financial security/connections that they get the luxuries a lot of really talented artists don’t get and it makes me sad.

I thought I was good at acting in school, however I done have the money to go to an expensive arts school or spend years auditioning for everything while my parents pay for my rent, while being unemployed.

This is something my friend can do and while I think shes probably a bit better than me it’s probably nowhere near enough for me to consider it, and the problem is that there are people who are probably a lot better than her who miss out. I do wish my friend well of course.

Fantanos second channel is now just Penguinz0 but music

Unlike his music reviews where he has something insightful to say when he covers any music news on his second channel it is just the most bland, safe and uninspiring commentary that is very reminiscent of Penguinz0. I’ve listened to a lot of these videos and there’s really been only one or two times he’s said anything with any more depth than the average comment of r/popheads

I don’t really blame him as it’s easy content but more the people who keep applauding his lukewarm takes in the comment section, I miss his album rankings and his more shitposty personality he had a few years back

How do you measure evilness?

It seems that evilness is measured by kill count and human suffering but who’s to say a guy on the street who is adamant that he wants to kill every minority is not as evil than Hitler?

Is there a difference between a man who murders someone and a man who has full intent to murder someone but is unsuccessful? What if in both scenarios we assume in both of these scenarios everyone is at the same mental capacity?

Almost all the most evil people in the world are ones who have been granted positions of power and therefore been in a position to carry out their wishes

About screamed when I stumbled across this in a random unsorted $3 bin

It was practically a jumpscare. Was not expecting to see this at all. I had to get it.

I love Going Public for what it is. It’s certainly not the most ambitious thing, and there are objectively better Beach Boys solo albums. But Gary Usher’s production is incredible and I love Bruce’s voice, so I listen to it all the time anyways. This was such a score for me!

The record is in good shape and the original inner sleeve is still there, but the extra with the Bruce profile on it is long gone. I’m OK with that, though.

Glen is one of the best representations of a weird kid

I think he got slightly too much screen time, and maybe at times felt unnecessary to the story/just not very interesting but it’s a very good ‘weird kid’

Most American shows I watch aren’t subtle especially when it comes to children. Usually weird or creepy kids are made way over the top and one dimensional which just isn’t true to life. A lot of them in reality are like Glen who are quiet and socially awkward but very unusual once you know them a little more, I met so many Glens at school. They tend to become the people who make women uncomfortable at parties without knowing it and then are convinced they don’t have a girlfriend because they aren’t ripped.

Does this character even exist if Matthew Weiner didn’t have a son? Probably not, but I see a lot of him calling him a bad actor which I don’t personally believe.

What’s weirder, Smiley Smile or Love You?

This thought just came across to me and was curious to hear other people’s opinions. I’m actually kind of split?

Chances of Trains being completely automated?

Thinking of doing a Train driver course but i’m slightly hesitant with AI and automation just skyrocketing. I know you guys aren’t fortune tellers but 20-30 years of job security would be kinda nice lol.

Can anyone (preferably someone in the industry) tell me how they’re feeling about it?

Is anyone else being “healthy” for the wrong reasons?

TW : Body Image

Just saw some photos from a recent party I went to and it was enough to make me get serious about eating better, and it kind of got me thinking about how everytime I want to lose weight it’s pretty much only been from a looks perspective?

I’m a single 22 year old man who’s a bit overweight and I feel like if there was absolutely no stigma or physical attraction I’d be like 10kgs (22lbs) heavier. It’s like a 90/10 split on my motivation for losing weight being healthier/just being vain.

How to make a great YouTube essay/commentary video

  1. Make sure your video is unnecessarily long, repeat your points again and maybe say “I know i’m repeating myself” from time to time. Does your video have 10 minutes of content? You can easily stretch that to 40.

  2. Make the safest and most surface level observations about a topic everyone has made up their mind on that your audience will somehow eat up.

  3. The theme should always revolve around capitalism being bad, however it’s key you never even remotely challenge the system or even the viewer. For example instead of doing a more investigative video about how unethical fast fashion is just say Mr Beast is too corporate now even though 100 other people have made videos on that.

  4. Change the cadence of your voice to make it insufferable!

Any advice to going from chord charts to sheet music after playing for 6 years?

After multiple attempts at schools trying to teach me an instrument through sheet music I ended up playing Piano and have taught myself ever since through chord charts, and overtime was able to figure out melodies too and play them pretty well

I’m getting a bit bored though of playing chord charts as I can only really do Pop/Rock songs and would love to learn Jazz or Classical but am well aware it’s a lot more difficult and can’t do it through chord charts and hell I don’t even know my scales or what key i’m playing in most of the time.

Can I teach myself this and where should I start? Has anyone had any similar experiences?
