Renting a car vs hiring a driver in Corfu

Staying on the lower east side of Corfu (Moraitikia) area and need to go to northwest side where it seems most of the boat rentals and beach clubs are. Is it better to rent our own car and drive ourselves there and back? Or should we hire hire someone to drive us, do they have taxis that will do that? Are the roads difficult to drive? Thank you! Seems like a long drive

Etretat to Deauville

Bonjour ! J'essaie de me rendre d'Étretat à Deauville. Merci !

I still have the habit of staying up late to be by myself even though I moved out

Lived at home until 21 and all those years I would stay up extremely late on school nights because it was the only peaceful, private time I had to myself. I would go to school exhausted and I didn’t care. Even if I was tired at 10, I still stayed up hours later to fit in time to myself without being bothered by my parents. I know many of us relate to this unfortunately. I’m now 27 and I still have the habit of staying up very late to listen to music, scroll, do whatever. I have no reason to do this because I do all of these things during the day and have an apartment to myself. But after so many years I’ve conditioned myself into these late hours being my comfort time. It’s a hard habit to get rid of because now I’m older and need the sleep for work and to function the next day but my body and mind can’t help it

Just realized I’m as judgmental as my mother

My mom doesn’t have any true friends and the friends she does have she is constantly judging and has something to say about everyone. It always annoyed me growing up and I found it judgmental and pathetic. But the other day I was thinking and realized I also have something to say about almost all of my friends. I was conditioned into believing that’s a normal way of thinking and now I realize I have to reprogram myself. I’m very accepting of others but also secretly critical or have judgements in my mind. I don’t think that’s normal or healthy. Does anyone else relate to this?

Has anyone else felt depressed all day thinking about the finale?

I feel like I lost a close friend - I personally thought the finale of Rue’s ending was very powerful and tragically but beautifully done. I sobbed SO hard when she passed I genuinely haven’t cried that deeply in so long. It’s such a real portrayal of how addiction is and how it often ends. All day I’ve truly felt sad and thinking about it so much.
The show started euphoric, colorful, beautiful because that’s how drugs feel when you first start. Seeing her crumple over the years into addiction and her current insane situation is sad to think about. She was just a girl. And the show accurately reflected how serious and dull her life is now in its style. Seeing this is how it ultimately ends was devastating. Such a powerful and emotional scene in her last moments. I’m about to sob thinking about it. I haven’t had a character’s death ever hit me like this lol anyone else ??

Being the only one among my friends with abusive nparents - is this you too?

There is an isolation and grief of being the only one among my friends who come from an abusive home with narcissistic parents. Of course, people keep things private so I’m sure there are people I know with similar situations. But among the friends I talk to I’m the only one. Everyone has their thorn in life but they all talk about their parents voluntarily so highly. I’m 27 and have formed a chosen family I’m grateful for but am still in close contact daily with my family as they are financially supporting me in my education. So it sucks that I can never say my real situation because then my friends don’t really know me, because my home life shaped who I am. I don’t “pretend” - they know we aren’t close but I don’t feel like I can be so open as it’s taboo in a way. And they would never understand if I said I hate my mom or dad. I wish I had someone in real life I could talk to but that’s why I come on here so I don’t feel isolated in this feeling.

Everyone is getting married

I’m 27. I’m finally at the age where everyone around me is getting married and (the slightly older ones) are having kids. And if they aren’t, they’re trying to be. I don’t feel the pressure yet, but it is weird because I couldn’t imagine committing to that for the rest of my life now or even before 30. There’s still so much I want to experience and do before marriage. I have a boyfriend whom I love but still I’m not ready for all of that, I still feel sooo young. I’d feel like a child getting married…Is that normal? It’s not personal to him or anyone, but I will graduate grad school at 28/29 and feel like my life will just be starting!! Even with my great bf at my side!! I love my friends who are getting engaged and starting their beautiful families, but I guess many of them don’t feel that way. Upbringings definitely have a lot to do with it — I didn’t have much freedom as growing up and was depressed and now im experiencing life to its fullest and more independently. Also my parents had a very poor marriage which created a difficult home so I wasn’t raised in a house where I saw a good example and marriage being valued? But anyway being at this age and stage is fun but also weird and kinda isolating that I’m the only one who doesn’t want marriage right now or within the next couple years. I’m sure other women relate to this? Please share if so lol
