I overhauled the visuals of my solo-developed Diablo x Vampire Survivors-like ARPG

I’m a solo developer working on a small ARPG inspired by Diablo-style loot progression and Vampire Survivors-like action.

The game recently made a little bit of revenue (just $100) , so I decided to put that money back into the project. I bought new assets and used them to overhaul the visuals across the whole game.

This update touches a lot of areas:

  • monsters
  • player characters
  • item drops
  • equipment and inventory screens
  • menus
  • general in-game readability

I also rebuilt the Steam store screenshots and trailer because the game looks pretty different now.

Personally, I think it looks a lot cooler than before, but I’d really like to hear what ARPG players think. Does the new look make the game feel more appealing? Is there anything that still looks weak or hard to read?

Thanks for taking a look!

The game is available on Steam, and there’s also a web demo if you just want to quickly check it out without installing anything.

I made a Vampire Survivors-like ARPG inspired by what Diablo II taught me about loot and builds

Hi r/ARPG,

I recently released my first Steam game, and I wanted to share it here because the core idea comes directly from my love for ARPGs.

Diablo II was the first hack-and-slash / loot-based ARPG I ever played. It taught me so many things: the excitement of finding a great item, the feeling of slowly shaping a build, the fun of planning around synergies, and the satisfaction of finally making a character feel “complete.”

My game is built on a simple Vampire Survivors-like foundation, but the concept is to make a game where players can learn the fun of a Diablo-like hack-and-slash ARPG in a shorter, more approachable format.

The goal I’m aiming for is this:

I want players to be able to create their ideal build and fully clear the game in around 10 hours.

That said, I’m not quite there yet. Right now, it probably takes closer to 20 hours, so I still need to improve the pacing, drop rates, build progression, and overall balance. I also want to keep improving the visuals and presentation.

This is my first game, and I’m not a professional game developer, so releasing it on Steam has been a personal dream. I’m also very happy that it was accepted into Steam’s Bullet Heaven Fest.

There is also a free web demo available here:

The demo lets you try almost all of the legendary items and mechanics, except for the full stage content. If you enjoy ARPGs, I’d really appreciate feedback on the loot, build variety, progression speed, item effects, and whether the game succeeds at feeling like an approachable hack-and-slash experience.

[Need Feedback] I'm making a gacha RPG you can play directly on Reddit

Hi! I’m a solo developer interested in creating games that people can instantly play and interact with directly on Reddit.

I recently rebuilt one of my Devvit projects into a small online gacha RPG, and I’d really love feedback from people who enjoy browser/web games.

Main features:

  • Completely free gacha system
  • You can easily earn summon currency by clearing stages
  • Character progression and equipment systems
  • Upgrade your base and storage using in-game resources
  • Player-driven trading market between Reddit users
  • Weapons and resources can be traded
  • If your party wipes during a run, you lose your equipped gear
  • Your characters themselves do NOT get deleted or reset

The main thing I’m experimenting with is:
“gacha progression + player economy + risk/reward loot runs”

You can instantly play it directly on Reddit here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/EscapeToSpire/comments/1qtx9i5/escape_to_spire/

I’d really appreciate any feedback:

  • Does the gameplay loop feel fun?
  • Is the market system interesting?
  • Is the gear loss mechanic too stressful?
  • What part would you improve first?

Thanks for trying it!

[looking for feedback] Match-3 roguelike prototype

Hi everyone!

I’m a solo indie developer, and I made an early prototype of a 3-match puzzle roguelike inspired by Balatro.

The idea is to take the “build a scoring engine over multiple stages” feeling and apply it to a match-3 puzzle game. You clear stages by reaching a target score within a limited number of moves, earn gold, visit the shop, and improve your run with special gems, relics, and upgrades.

It’s still rough, but before I spend more time developing it, I’d really like to know:

  • Does the core idea feel promising?
  • Is the match-3 + roguelike progression easy to understand?
  • Did you feel like trying another run?
  • What felt confusing, boring, or unnecessary?

I’m making this by myself, so even short feedback would help a lot.

You can play it here:

Thanks!
