No way Shehbaz Sharif has 3-4% chance of becoming Time person of the year. I have been part of a few events which are mispriced like this and I many of them turn out to be events where insiders had information.
I had 400 units of TLT and significant loss, I swapped those to SPTL (on sep 10) after some research as they follow a different index and were recommended as safe way to tax loss harvest. Now I have 1x $88 strike and 2x $89 strike puts on TLT with Dec 31 2026 expiry. I think they get assigned soon. I worry this assignment will be seen as washing the previous sale if it happens before Oct 11 2026. if roll this I would be buying deep in the money PUTS which would also be seen as wash sale. I am at Robinhood for these trades.

In an ideal scenario I may not DCA right now but I am thinking the stock may be close to bottoming . I do not want to reduce my exposure. I don't mind increasing my exposure. Come October if the stock is below $100, I will sell lot 1 to take loss on lot 1 and will have same exposure as I have now. For 1 month I will have double the exposure.
Looking at ~200k in short term gains. I have not paid advance taxes on this yet , so all of it is bank and cash. Is there a way I can defer taxes on this? This is net of losses. I tax los harvested where I could and also booked losses on positions I could not tax loss harvest and was okay to sell.
Is it true that if you have certain amount with fidelity managed accounts they will waive the typical 0.65 option contract fee?

Last three years I have almost always been unhedged. Barring some Spreads that have a hedge built in, I have relied on dry powder to be my savior when markets turn down.
How do you hedge? Portfolio level? Position level? Something else?

I start everyday with a simple goal of achieving 0.1% on my portfolio, that is a compound return of ~28.39%+ ~4% from cash so~ 32.39% annualized. Without taxes that implies doubling every < 2.5 years. If you have a 20 year runway, you can have 8 doubles. Say if you have 1M in your ira, you could end up with $256-$275M in 20 years in your IRA. Compounding is crazy, stick with it.

I sell cash secured puts and PCS on boring names with typically low vol. Goal is to capture about ~0.1% returns daily, which adds up to well over 25% annualized. In practice I lag, but not by much, because I have been under invested and cash drag is real.
My only source of income is option selling and my mood is affected by how my portfolio is doing. Any full time option sellers here and how they manage to live a normal life irrespective of how the market is doing?
Today I stumbled upon this 390 rule because I made a lot of option orders close to a 1000. Let's just say I found some interesting opportunities and it took a lot of orders to harvest it. Turns out there is a rule that if you submit more than 390 orders on avg in a 30 day period, does not matter how many get filled as long as an order was placed it will count,you will get flagged as a professional option trader and be subject to low priority and higher fees. This rule is from 2009.

So many times I am the only person who has a contract in open interest. Are most traders just sticking with popular names?
I have a couple CSP with strike that are near money (you can say ATM). With one more day to go it could go in any direction. I do think they are in a range where I should start adding to my core position but I think they could get more attractive a well. How do you all think about this. Roll vs take assignment (if it happens) vs let it expire if it ends up OTM. Plan at initiation was to roll or let expire and start a new position at similar strike (+/- 5%) as long as it made sense to do so.

Would it be better if only specialized batters + 1 allrounder and wicket keep was allowed to bat and only specialized bowlers and 1 all rounder was allowed to bowl?
