The title makes it pretty obvious but genuinely which one do i go with for placement coding rounds especially. I am an aspiring data engineer so i am very good at python, but i have heard that companies prefer DSA in a more core language like C++ or java. ?
Any suggestions ?

Hey guys, I am recent graduate and leaning into the Data Engineering space. Need to get started with data analyst remote jobs first to build credibility. Skilled in Python, SQL, Data viz tools, excel and AI tools. Can anyone refer me please, would be a great help. Thanks
Whats the core syllabus of MCA and what electives do you guys recommend to take

Hey guys, please take out some time and read this.
I have graduated from SIES, did BSc in Data Science. I am a DE aspirant but its not a entry level role, thus i wanna get in as a DA first, for which i have enough skill set I think (python, SQL, PowerBI, AWS).
I have been applying to a lot of intern and fresher roles, but haven't heard back from any one. Got 1 interview but lost that too because they wanted full time and I am pursuing masters right now from VESIT.
Cannot rely on campus placements too, all they will hire is SWE/SDE through their hackathons.
How do i break into the market and transition into a DE.
need some perspective from people working in data engineering / analytics
i graduated from sies with a bsc in data science and im currently building my skills with the goal of moving into data engineering
thats the area im genuinely interested in
i initially couldnt find many pg programs specifically focused on data engineering so i took mah mca cet and got into vesit mainly because i thought the campus opportunities and placements would give me a good way into the industry
but after joining ive started questioning whether im approaching this the right way
ive realized that a lot of good tech opportunities seem to come through hackathons software development heavy roles etc and honestly i dont have much of a software development background right now
one path im considering is trying to get into a data analyst role and eventually move internally toward data engineering. Con: the problem is that even getting that first da opportunity seems extremely difficult
another possibility is trying to get an swe role through campus placements and then use the de skills im building to switch toward data engineering later. Con: Will stretch me out a lot and i might not be able to learn even one of the roadmaps properly.
would really appreciate some perspective from people already working in data engineering analytics or anyone who has made a similar switch.
I am stuck between two approaches.
What do i do ??!!
Pls take out a few minutes to answer this, means a lot, thanks.

Here's my situation; I graduated from SIES with a degree in Bsc (Data Science) and am building my portfolio towards Data Engineering (this is what I am interested in).
I did not find any PG courses specifically for Data Engineer so I gave the MAH-MCA-CET and got VESIT hoping for good placements.
Later I found out some of the top companies pull from hackathons and I have no skill or knowledge in software development.
I could get a DA role somewhere and internally move into a DE but even getting hired for a DA role is a nightmare.
If I get placed as a SWE via cllg, I can then pitch my DE skills and shift in this way too
Pls help me, do I start grinding DSA and SDE along with all the DE stuff that I need to study, to crack the placements
Or should I forget about campus (the sole reason i took it) to just focus off campus DA jobs and switch accordingly.
Any Senior DE or DA soon-to-be DE, pls take out some time and help, means a lot.

I am stuck between two approaches:
Go all-in on campus placements -> grind DSA/SDE alongside Data Engineering and try to get an SWE role, then switch toward DE. (Safer option but is tough to sustain and will stretch me out a lot also might not learn both very well)
Treat college as secondary -> focus heavily on DE + applying for DA/DE-related roles off campus, and try to make the switch that way. (Risky and fully flips off cllg, but makes me a strong DE candidate, but legit helpless in job market without refferal)

SENIORSSSSS, HELP PLEASEEEE.
I need to crack the nomura hackathon. The only issue is I have only studied Data analyst and Data engineer stuff with no experience in SDE/SWE roles.
Pls suggest a No BS roadmap to cover all the concepts and build good enough projects to crack the nomura hackathon.
Thanks a lot
I have been studying:
1.SQL
2.Python
3.Leetcode
4.DE fundamentals
Databricks
Spark
AWS
I won't say I have mastered it, but at a decent level. I have applied to GOD KNOWS how many positions and never heard back.
I don't know what else to add or mention. What projects to showcase. I am willing to learn anything they mention on the JD.
Pls help me, I wanna get in as a fresher DE 🙏🏻.
I scored 99.58 Percentile in the Mahmcacet, and got VESIT (VJTI closed at 99.9 )MCA in the first CAP round. I wanna know 1. What are the real placement rates for this course.
Highest and avg package
Classroom scene? ( Faculty, Exam and Lecture notes)
4.Do I have a chance at being placed if I have a bad cgp but good skills and domain knowledge.
Pls take some time out to answer these questions, thanks a lot 🤧
