Pure luck 1st thunderbolt of storm

Started raining on my drive home from parents. Big chain of happenstance coincidence synchronicity stuff etc for me to be listening to a specific playlist thru the day, and timing of "Rain" song coming up (on my car's screen), RIGHT as the rain storm has started.

Last minute decision to take a "long way" home, passed my normal turn, and I decided to take a photo of my car's screen with "Rain" and the rain storm through the windshield. Did landscape, then flipped to portrait.

IMMEDIATELY lightning. I thought there was no way in hell actually caught it. I really thought I missed it. Kept thinking on the rest of the drive "oh man how cool would that have been if I actually got it?! If only I took the photo a second earlier, or wasn't twisting my phone around to portrait mode..."

Check the photos later. Somehow caught it. One of the most awesome coincidences of my life. A handful chain of synchronicities that day led to that moment.

GГID ШΛVΞ ◈ VΛPOГ ШΛГΞ volØ1 \\ [TRON: GridWave VaporWare] (Spotify arranged & mixed playlist)

> Music from/vibing 「the Grid」◽Cinematic flowing soundscape like a breezy lightcycle ride thru the TRON Universe▫️Harmonic smooth mixed transitions ◽Ft: Occam's Laser▫️Perturbator ▫️Vangelis▫️ Carpenter Brut▫️Wojciech Golczewski▫️IOTO▫️Le CastleVania▫️NIN▫️Mac Quayle▫️Daft Punk▫️+more ℹ️:Mix⏳Øh57m⏫7/9'26

GridWave VaporWare (vol 1) is a flowing cinematic arrangement of TRON- vibed songs, accumulated over the past year. I still have many more tracks, probably for another two volumes. This is the most complete segment so far.

"GridWave" is the idea of music that sounds reminiscent of TRON. This compilation is like a puree of all styles of TRON, from '82, to Legacy, to Ares. "VaporWare" is name of the album, or series of albums to come.

This playlist serves as a hypothetical "TRON⁴” score, using otherwise disparate tracks from various artists, to string together a flowing, fresh cinematic experience. This includes known material from Daft Punk & NIN, but mixed in new & fun ways.

As such, there are several segments where portions of multiple tracks come together to act as one overarching soundscape scene.

I would recommend listening blind, without looking at the track listing! Just trust the flow, and try to vibe with it and see where it goes.

This started as trying to put together the Tron Ares movie score in movie sequence order, and filling in unlisted tracks from the movie with other Tron sounding stuff. That eventually turned into my other playlist TRON: Ares ÷ Legacy • User Input Override which uses only mainline Tron score tracks, with a few exceptions.

This current playlist took a back seat during that time, but I kept accumulating Tron sounding stuff, and arranging things into a flow. I just recently shifted focus back to this, and mixing the transitions. It's pretty solid right now, but maybe not perfect. Ongoing small tweaks, perhaps.

Happy TRON -iversary! Hope at least some enjoy this as much as I enjoy putting it together, and vibing to it. Volume 2 coming soon.

TIFU by not saying "hi!" to the most gorgeous girl at Home Goods after exchanging glances?

Sunday afternoon circa 5pm give or take a bit... On a whim I popped into the local Home Goods to.glance at small area rugs...

And immediately somehow saw you at the register, about to leave, eyes just magically drawn to you. Thought you were an actress!

I was shocked by how gorgeous you were, but did not want to creep, so I went on my way. Quick glance at the rugs, nope they suck, couldn't have been more than a minute or two, and I head back up front. Only the cross halves and gazes with you again, cuz you were meandering around the front of the store...

You were meandering around front inside the store, as if just looking for someone... Or were we both just trying to secretly steal glances? But, you did follow me out feet behind, as I left the store..!?

I cannot believe I didn't say something. Especially after you gave a signal I should have shook me into action, even if it was only a 1% chance I was actually seeing a signal directed at me.

If you are seeing this message:

To confirm it's you... tell me what happened as we exited. Tell me what color hair you have and how you were wearing it. Which store location were we at? What store was I walking to after Home Goods?

Uggghhh. I should have said "hi! Wait a second..!"

TL:DR: Saw the most gorgeous girl of my life in public in a store, gave me a clear signal to at least TRY to communicate and confirm if it was actually a signal for me. Locked eyes at least once yes I blew it and just walked away thinking "nope couldn't possibly have been signed for me from someone so gorgeous!". Soulmate gone, because I'm an oblivious sloth.

(Chillout, Downtempo, Trip-Hop, Alt Rock) (~1h:10m) Groove’n Daydrift Delight • Summer Mellow Mix

Copypasta from Spotify playlist description:

> Mellow warm Summer•style grooves entwined with funk/trip/alt interludes & up•tempo earworms◽ Unified flow via melty harmonic mixes, funky basslines, Summer•passion & lyrical narratives ◽Ft: Khruangbin▫️Portishead ▫️All India Radio▫️Black Sabbath▫️Jane's Addiction▫️Faith No More ℹ️: Mix⏳~1h10m 🚧WiP tweaks

Started as a next trip-hop + "chill" arrangement & mix attempt, after my first way more trip-hop focused "Downtempo Daydream [Demure]". Quickly morphed more into modern- funk/grooves & bass -driven mellow flow, with warm Summer vibes (to my ear).

This is a warm, mellow ride through a sunny lazy Summer day, night, week type vibes, with a dash of forlorn passion, wispy romance, etc.

The "Summer vibes" is mainly Khruangbin and All India radio -- but includes more off-the-wall choices like "Evidence" by Faith No More, "Twisted Tales" by Jane's Addiction, and "Another Space Song" by Failure -- Which all to me are VERY "Summer vibes" due to how/when I discovered them.

I TRIED to make them fit in a flow & manner that hopefully expresses that in context with the overall flow. I think it works?

Plus... Twisted Tales and Evidence are some of the absolute top unexpected bangers of my life. Re-introduced me to Jane's Addiction with fresh perspective, that whole album is amazing.

Ending with Planet Caravan, one of Black Sabbath's masterstroke creations, and for this arrangement, is like a quiet beach night closing out one of many days on a week long beach trip.

Hope others enjoy! And I always love feedback, or even technical tips. Learning as I go, mixing by ear, and a lot of trial and error.

Downtempo Daydream [Trip-Hop • Psych-Pop & adjacent/eclectic in flowing mix]

Copypasta from playlist description:

> Down•Tempo, Trip•Hop + adjacent/eclectic arranged mix▫️Ethereal, chill, lusty, forlorn vibe/flow ◽Featuring:▫️Mother Mary (Anne Hathaway), Phantogram, Hooverphonic, Glass Animals, +more▫️Mix-mash of Massive Attack & NIN: Angel × I Know You Can Feel It ℹ️: ⏳Actual Mix PlayTime ~1h40m 🚧WiP ⏫Updt_5/26'26

This is a combination of 2 separate "commonplace" playlists I had been accumulating tracks in, past week or 2. Forgot about one, eventually remembered & realized there was some overlap, so I started building connections as I heard them.

Also finally "getting out" some MASSIVE ear worms from recent years (Holding On by Active Child, for one! Firefly by Alpha being another decades long favorite), and relatively new surprise favorites (ANNE HATHAWAY via "Mother Mary"! and Monsters by All India Radio).

...all mixed in with genre defining staples like Hooverphonic, Portishead, and Massive Attack, and many others. To mention M.A.:

This set also includes a mega-mix mashup of "Angel" (M.A.) and "I Know You Can Feel It" (NIN, Tron Ares score). This is a best-effort amalgamation of them, after hearing how similar they are -- using multiple copies of each song, and trying to find catchy hooks & places to mix them, within the confines of the Spotify mixing limits.

I believe the tracks also preceding and following that mix, are good flows, and this is easily one of my favorite stretches in this mix.

Meticulously tweaked transitions throughout, over 3 or so days, and it's pretty solid right now, for what I was going for... But minor tweaks will surely continue.

Hope someone else enjoys! And as always, I'd love and appreciate feedback and discussion! I've been mega addicted to AutoMix since it became available many months ago.

(Trip-Hop/adjacent) (1h40m) "Down•Tempo Daydreaming"

Down-tempo, Trip-Hop + adjacent/eclectic, happenstance mix▫️ Ethereal, chill, lusty, forlorn, vibe/flow mix... ℹ️Featuring: ▫️Mother Mary (Anne Hathaway), Phantogram, Glass Animals, Hooverphonic▫️Long mashup of Massive Attack & NIN: Angel × I Know You Can Feel It (~14m) ⏳ Actual Mix PlayTime ~1h40m

This arranged mix is a fair dollop of Trip Hop classics, with more experimental happenstance transitions throughout, and trip-hop adjacent (electro pop, gloomy, EDM lite). All in a flow, to my ear -- That I hope other people can dig and enjoy.

Threw together and mixed in 2 days, after having a small accumulation of 2 separate but similar-enough unsorted & unmixed playlists, and hearing unifying threads all throughout.

Of special note: Includes an extended mix-mashup of "I Know You Can Feel It" (NIN) × "Angel" (Massive Attack) of about 14 minutes, using multiples of each track, interwoven. I will also publish a separate playlist of just that mashup.

Hope some of you will enjoy! And as always, would appreciate and enjoy any feedback. The mixing is mostly done, except for possible ongoing minor tweaks.

TRON: Ares÷Legacy is a project I began while TRON: Ares was still in theaters. I love NIN's score accompanied with the movie, but never felt QUITE the strong pull and staying power, and replayability, as Daft Punk's masterwork album & score for TRON: Legacy.

I wanted to create a unified, flowing experience mixing the best of both. This evolved into replication of TRON Ares movie sequence score including multi- scene/track mixes, scene by scene (including repeats), as the base Framework for everything else to follow.

Within the confines of the Spotify mixing tools, I did the best I could. That said, it may not be perfectly accurate, and there are at least 2 or 3 spots where it's just not possible to excise portions of a song beyond a minimum...

For example: Target Identified 's opening gnarly riff appears several times in the movie, but the remaining song is only played in full once I think -- in which case, I have used TI and cut/melded it into the next flow as soon as possible.

From there, I then mixed in Legacy material in ways that seemed to flow with the vibe of the movie scenes and/or actual adjacent score tracks. Some small creative liberties taken here, throughout... Such as: When Dillinger screams "End of line" to end his phone call with AJ, cue Legacy's End of Line in my special mix of all 3 versions of the track & remixes found on Legacy and Reconfigured, but mixed and unified into one, of approximate same length as the track on its own.

Also of note: Mac Quayle is featured throughout (Mr. Robot score), after I heard similar hooks & vibes, and a "bridge" type feel of style between NIN & DP. Also: He literally made 2 remixes/covers of Legacy tracks "Armory" and "Recognizer", which I also included in special mixes.

All in all, I was going for one big, flowing, unified experience, of two of the greatest modern movie scores in existence. I feel like I succeeded, and would love if anyone else digs it and "gets it" the way I intended.

I have detailed track-by-track notes on intention of choice & placement, and how each track/placement vibes with the movie. I will add those as a comment here soon.

I would dig any feedback.

TERMINATOR²⁰⁰⁰ is a compilation of various several artists and movie score tracks, synth-heavy, with (to my ear) Terminator-vibed aspects. Arranged into an overarching flow of familiar "Terminator" thematic cycles:

Titles, space for intro/monologue... Sweeping aerial panorama of Future War battlefield scenes... Action, chase, victory... Slower, pensive exposition moments... Amazing Hero Moments of superhuman strength... Enemy Terminator defeated, but then reconstituting itself in gnarly & surprising manner, accompanied by suiting music... Up thru climactic epilogue, and End Credits.

I believe a Future War movie could exist, while still containing surprises and tension, despite knowing the victorious outcomes of T1 & T2 -- while respecting and honoring their legacy. This is the score to that movie.

While I do have several core ideas, plot beats, themes, and some crazy action set-pieces in mind... You don't need to know any of those specifics, to enjoy this score -- it is more of an aural ride, to guide you through your own imaginary scenes of the best and wildest Terminator Future War movie dreams that any of us could imagine, with music moments for:

  • Terminator 1 style grim, gritty, slasher-horror suspense & tension -- for at least a fair portion of the movie (I have specific ideas to facilitate this, while fitting into the Future War setting)

  • Terminator 2 style crazy, awesome action, chases

  • Vehicle chases and extended set-pieces

  • Etc, etc, etc...

Hope anyone enjoys and gets it the same way I hear it all in my mind. It's not perfect, technically or even compositionally -- But I had a blast working on it, hearing connections, arranging, mixing, and I and think it vibes.

I would love any feedback.
