What are other words or phrases like ''two-for-one'' or kill two birds with one stone?
For my Natural History Museum (extended) caption,
I feel the former isn't quite right,
and the latter seems inappropriate for us bird lovers!

My ancient mom has a cool old house and
On an outside wall are plain, not so fancy, metal Wall Anchor Plates that need attention and repainting.
I presume a rotary wire brush is the primary first step, but if anyone can recommend a YT or indeed anything at all it would be greatly appreciated.
Hope that this is OK to ask...
Your advice, to repair a short area of lead flashing on a parapet, adjacent to a flat roof, on my ma's studio in her garage?
I'm a fairly decent cabinetmaker / woodworker, so I reckon adept at handling minor fixes to my ma's house, and that steers me to think this task could be doable for this 55 year-old feller, because...
A, it's easily accessible, as it's on a low, one-story garage...
B, the parapet itself is only about 20-25 inches tall (50-60 cm)...
C, the area that actually needs a repair, is about 10-14'' wide (35 cm)
When I searched YouTube, the ones I saw initially seemed to be much more ambitious, so I thought I'd ask the good folks here.
Hi folks, I'm not familiar with modern cars, but hoping you can help me find what make of car that a family member has sent me a photo of recently.
My photo of it is 90% useless as there's a bike rack plus a chunky mountain bike / bicycle, and my nephew's fist is covering the biggest clue.!
Looking for a make of recent SUV, maybe made within the last 10 years, with the SUV body style, maybe from Japan or Asia, with distinctive tail lights, but could be a Volvo, they seemed to be the folks that did this shape rear lamp first - esp on wagons
I'm afraid this is the only solid clue I have.
In the 'C' rearmost pillar are tall taillights, alongside and as tall as the rear window glass. They have a curved top, in such a way that the horizontal bar above the rear window-glass, this element of the hatch is more or less straight - meaning the lamp deals with all the necessary curvatures.
As the tail light continues down, (its about 30 inches?) there is a clear reverse lamp that returns a little bit around the side of the car. But my nephew's fist is covering most of the bottom of the tail lamp as it runs around the side a bit (otherwise a big clue)...
Only one other clue of note, the rearmost side glass, it curves down, almost as if it was from a coupe, as a cost cutter, taken off of a coupe.
You guys are always extraordinarily good at this stuff. Hope we get something Sherlock!
A little bit more about the rear...
working from the bottom up,
EDIT
leaving this in case anyone wants a laugh.
being an oldie, i needed a prompt...

A wall poem is a poem that is applied to a wall or building, and sometimes under a bridge, seen only when it opens.
Does your country have any, or many, what were the first ones, any favorite wall poems?
Leiden was the first city in the Netherlands with wall poems (Muurgedicht). It is also home to the most texts, thanks to the 'Poems on Walls' project.
The first wall poem was installed in 1992 and was by the Russian poet Marina Tsvetaeva .
The poem De Profundis by Federico García Lorca was the 101st wall poem in 2005, after which new Leiden wall poems were added again in 2010.

and plan to put all the shards into a cardboard box or two labelled clearly
and then either take and sit the boxes next to the metal trash bins, or do you think
is this something the city would come and collect?
List as many as you can!.

At this early stage I'm just looking for general advice to avoid pitfalls.
So far, the plan is to AC only one small roomon the top of a three story house,
I've never worked in HVAC, but I was a master carpenter until retirement, so not completely ignorant of interacting with skilled workers.
I have a small, 1820s, old house, and did some preliminary research and it looks like a split system is best but as it's a historic old house I want to minimize hacking through the walls.
There is a space just outside the bedroom window where the big condenser unit could sit, with the evaporator inside the room somewhere.
Any and all advice, on pitfalls, any complexities to anticipate, better products, cost nasties, all super welcomed.
EDIT below
Air Conditioning units that we had decades ago...
We've heard that something new, called Air-Con Split-Units are maybe very much better but,
But as we definitely do not want any holes in walls,
and can only afford something modest, low cost for just one room,
Can anyone explain to us folks with a small 1820s old house, how these actually work?
Most of what we've seen YTs of, seems to be for fairly huge US-sized homes.
In the sellers imagery, there are so many varieties and sizes.
One that SEEMED to be suitable kinda had two halves, one in and one outside the window.
EDIT: Thanks for the speedy answers (bravo!). I did sort of presume that ''split'' meant two halves,
but none of the manufacturers illustrations clarified HOW (what you all have so helpfully pointed out) that...
There does always need to be various types of pipes connecting the two, but how exactly...
Before I contact HVAC lads, I want to have a much better understanding.
So I will look again but, I recollect buried between the fancy complicated fanciest ones, was an example that looked like maybe it did fit into a window - with a divider of some type.
MW has often commented about folks ''having it all''
but then was (himself included) still wanting [something] more.
Thought the nice folks here would appreciate this from psychology today:
Dutchman, author and self-described-historian, Rutger Bregman, has published four books, most notably Utopia for Realists, translated into thirty-two languages, and he has recently commented,

but, if anyone is more curious, I recommend opening that instagram link.
How exactly does acid-dipping work - on race cars esp?
Q inspired by the link below. Is it just a giant vat of acid, with entire car lowered in?
Surely it's more complex than that, esp regarding, the hazards, run-off, environment, etc

This is an interesting blog, from over my way, about life in East London.
It's very unusual, and covers all kinds of subjects different from this one.

This one is about a London photographer, (recently deceased at 82) from a poor background like Don, talking about his life. Parts of it reminded us a lot of the ad man environment, but as a photographer.

We're from outside US, but lately see stories of controversies and conflicts around him.
We did research first and saw that a very similat Q was asked a few years ago,
but we are still confused generally, esp re what's happened with him in early 2026.
If whatever the prior 2024 / 2025 thing was, could be coupled in, or woven into what is happening now, in 2026, that would be very much appreciated.

We are specifically looking for info / advice about the possibility of staying in a small historic building in The Netherlands.
We stayed in a neighboring country (the UK), in a property from an org that has rare historic properties; originally un-loved and derelict, but then restored and let out for holidays (to recoup the cost).
Many are small, (to accommodate 2 or 4) - and we love them SO much but - would VERY much prefer to have our holiday break in NL - we much prefer to go without / won't want a car.
Any suggestions? We avoid the rumpies,
like AirBnB, Amazon, etc like the plague. whatsapp, facebook, meta, twitter, x, etc, no good.
