Lanterns finale…connects to Peacemaker…how?
I enjoyed both shows a lot. I have very few complaints.
But I do not understand what the fuck Gunn is on about when he says they are connected.

I just finished the game for the first time.
I noticed with some curiosity that it was possible to not go to the basement to get Alice’s photos when Ahti tells you to do it. I reloaded and corrected the oversight when I did this accidentally.
Honestly this game expects you to remember far too much about how the maps work 😅
But having seen the end game now, what the heck happens if you don’t go to the basement to get the photos?!
(Bonus question: on being offered the Final Cut I checked the wiki to see how long this list of changes is, while trying not to read any details. I was surprised at how short the list was…is the impact on gameplay really that slight/marginal?)
I’m not on social media anymore, but my wife is, and she’s been seeing this advertisement for a rechargeable game table light.
I found the advertisement quite motivating and convincing, but I’m not dumb enough to believe a thing I’m seeing here without validation, and the website selling these things is the Internet version of high-pressure sales tactics with obviously inflated prices.
Has anyone gotten one of these? Or seen one? Do they work remotely as well as the ad copy suggests?
And does anyone know of a similar option at a more modest price?
Today on my commute home, coming down 111th street near Southgate mall, I had an experience that absolutely blew my god damned mind.
At a red light an angry driver in front of me got out and came towards my vehicle. Standing in the middle of the god damned road.
Him: “Do you have some sort of mental problem?”
Me: “No sir”.
Him: “You are too close to my car.”
Me: “I’m sorry you feel that way.”
And he got back in and the light changed and we are on our way.
….
Nothing in this story makes a god damned lick of sense. Someone tell me they agree with me. There can be no size of small distance humanly possible where this is warranted conduct …right? Right?!?
Sigh.
One of the surest signs of getting and feeling older was the time I lost some accounts because I did not understand what I had to do with Authenticator apps and hardware upgrades. I’m not actually sure I understand it fully today, but at least I know to double check it next time.
I feel passkeys are going to be the same for me.
We use 1Password and have been very happy with it in our family. It still needs manual intervention from time to time to sing - editing the urls a password applies to, or just copy/paste or manual entry when automations don’t quite click.
Indeed on my work computer I use “large text” passwords in my phone often as I have to manually type them in due to no ability to install software.
And, for many household accounts, we need to be sharing account passwords and have a shared locker for just that.
So here is what I “know” about passkeys. Can you help correct errors and fill in blanks?
\- as they are not human readable text, they are much more secure
\- require a connection to a vault to hold the passkey, so they will only work when the automated connection with your password manager is working
\- cannot be entered on a computer not connected to your vault
\- cannot easily be shared by two people accessing one account
\- cannot be replicated or duplicated outside of your vault ecosystem really at all, it’s kind of the point, so will have a similar “maintenance “ issue to my preamble to avoid losing a key
I find the worlds I use passwords in are still often messy and requiring workarounds. So I feel completely reluctant to embrace passkeys in any way. If you had the time to read this and have time to improve my awareness i would be grateful for it.
I’ve had this problem for years. Preliminary investigation focused on figuring out how it was put together, determining the kind of staples used
I learned that the tool required was a specific air stapler and that nobody near me rents it and I don’t have the setup for air tools anyway.
I’m getting a little sick of looking at it and …there seriously has to be another kind of fastener I could use for repair. Some kind of smaller screw with washers?
Has anyone improvised in something similar?
(This one panel around the window has always had issues with fit, but after years of slowly migrating to its current state and no sign of any underlying issue (water intrusion, structural damage) I’m just looking to secure it. I actually got our local brand dealer to give me their end of roll of the matching seam tape but have been waiting figuring out how to get it back in alignment before I can cover the seam with it)
So a year or three ago I purchased these mosquito traps at Costco. They worked reasonably well, but I did have to put three out where the sales material said one would be sufficient. But I enjoyed what they did.
I've learned this year that they just...discontinued all replacement bulbs for the old models, and would now like to sell you a new model instead. Third party bulbs exist but have TERRIBLE reviews on Amazon.
I'm wondering if anyone else has
found a reasonable alternative because Amazon clearly doesn't have one, and Google is giving me AI slop
considered returning these items to make a point. I really don't think what this company is doing is ethical in the slightest, these devices were working just fine.
Its a VERY bad year for mosquitos here. Deeply annoyed at the moment.
In a rush just before a trip and ran out to Costco to replace some luggage that just failed.
Only two choices, and picked this one.
…and have discovered that this bag, with fairly unusual dimension ratios, appears to contravene carry on specs for WestJet?! (Along with most other airlines).
It strikes me as unusual. And it seems to otherwise be a very nice bag. Has anyone used this bag on WestJet or seen it used? Or should I get the duct tape out and fix the nearly dead option?
Apologies for this wildly specific question.
More bag details: https://www.swissgear.ca/products/swissgear-opulence-2-piece-spinner-set but was bought and is still sold on Costco.ca
Alas after years of service I just can't get the left controller to mate with the dock in a way that makes it charge anymore
I know problems with this dock are very common. What I'm surprised to find is that fixes for this dock are....non existent?
Has anyone seen something I've missed?
You're about to get the impression that I'm a grumpy bitch. That is a correct impression.
So for the longest time I've been rejecting the sales techniques on full display with MSFS. Oodles of microcontent? Pass. Full retail 2026 WTF prices? Hard pass. A game that requires you to alter your schedule? HELL NO (that doesn't apply here, but I wanted to give you a fulsome picture of my grumpy bitchiness)
But I sure did love MSFS back in the day. And the videos are ...compelling. It seems like a great use of VR.
I have no idea how to unpack what is actually on offer with these different packages. What matters, what doesn't, what's kind of nice to have....all of it seems deliberately opaque and weird and designed to keep you confused so you keep spending cash.
Anyone able to help unpack what the options are that matter?
