So I may know a little too much about dream..
So for context I am orange and the other guy is blue

Here are my predictions for basic editor features first,
Half the tile size allowing you to pretty much place objects in between tiles giving you 2x more places to use.
A way to use mouse controls to make levels like in the original mario maker
A way to redo changes to your level and zoom out on the level you are building
A mario wonder style.
Now this is were it gets a little controversial..
Mario wonder should be separate from the other styles, If it was just another style then people would complain about the fact that its just more of the same. I personally think that people hated 3d world being separated because they removed so much from it, instead if they had a base selection of course elements that are needed to make good levels, then every style can be unique and have its own quirks to make people pick it. But im being absolutely clear that it would be absolutely nothing like 3d world in mario maker 2, were only the bare minimum was there and the course resets when you switched styles. Only the objects unique to the style would get cleared.
As for how wonder effects would work it would give you as a maker 5 different transformation options.
1 would be the spike ball
2 would be the slime
3 would be goomba
Then 4 and 5 will be unique to mario maker
Then finally for now these are the course items to be added
The urchin for all
The ice flower for all
The baby yoshis for nsmb
The wonder flower/seed for smw
The star coin for all
Secret exits for all
The volcano theme for all
The beach theme for all
And here is how I think the online will work
So I got lazy and just predicted the 100 mario challenge again, but I have a plan for how to find better levels when browsing. So simply just have a team go out and award some levels, when a level gets awarded it pops up on the awarded tab making it really easy to find lots of good levels. They could keep doing this up until a year into the games life giving you hopefully a massive backlog of levels you can play for the rest of the games life, years after they stop awarding levels.
Here is how I think updates should work.
Personally I would much prefer paid content over free content simply because of how much better the paid content would be. There are many valid reasons to want free updates, like if you don't pay your levels could look way worse than everybody else's. Or you could get demotivated seeing people with features you don't have, but I think this is nothing new for DLC in video games and may be even less of an issue then usual because of how expansive the base games editor would be. Your levels won't even be "worse" they just won't have stuff others do have.
Here is how I want paid content to work:
I think there should be 2 DLC packs, and every pack has a new level theme that you get when you buy the pack. Like pass 1 could be themed around zelda and you get a level theme for all styles that tries to sum up the zelda franchise with hyrule in the background or something, and could have cool references like turning mario enemies into zelda ones when you have the theme on. And it could add some zelda course elements for all themes. That scale of update wouldn't be possible with the free update model, but if that feels too p2w then you could have free smaller updates alongside it!
What would you change?
So I just finished the game an hour ago and I'm looking for more! I know there is dlc but I really want more of the same gameplay, I don't know how much I would want the emerald rush mode, so just for the purposes of the question if the dlc was just DK island, is it worth the money?
EDIT: you have convinced me. Im buying it!
So firstly the idea of the update is 16 new tracks that take place in the sky, this is to make sure that the courses can feel different in selection from the base game. For example say if they wanted to add music park to the game, it would make the most sense here, but at the same time nothing is stopping them from adding more traditional courses that just happens to be in the sky now. This absolutely won't stop tracks from having its own feel and design, and for most courses you wouldn't even realise it was in the sky if you weren't told. Alongside that they will also bring back anti-gravity, that will work as expected. Another thing to keep in mind is that these will all be explorable like the mainland. I also still wanted the cups to feel cohesive, and not just a bunch of tracks in the sky connected by bridges, so I tried to keep a general theme
So for the Egg Cup:
N64 yoshi valley
Nitro desert course with a massive sandcastle theme
GBA Sunset wilds (with a abandoned town style)
GCN Wario Colosseum (hope its not too simular to wario stadium to be added)
Then for the Bell Cup:
N64 Sherbert land
WII U sweet sweet canyon (I will explain later)
GBA sky garden (but a literal sky garden)
Nitro water course (kinda like that one level in mario galaxy with the floating water, using anti grav)
Then for the bullet cup:
WII U thwomp ruins
GBA lakeside park
Nitro volcano track (same volcano as in lakeside park
Nitro Bower jr factory
And finally the moon cup
WII Warios gold mine
Nitro basalt/desert track
WII U Bone-Dry dunes
NS ninja hideaway.
For battle courses it will be 2 Nitros: One is a cookie course using anti gravity, and the course tilts slightly when people are on one side of the cookie. And it will be right next to sweet sweet canyon. And the second and final battle course is a globe, and you can drive fully around it using anti grav.
Well the direct is less than a day away, so what do you think I should have picked? I feel like I didn't have too many courses from one specific game but maybe im wrong!
I just did..
They have so much space on the world, yet they only have 8 maps. Like why can't you battle on toads factory? Or boo cinema? A section of choco mountain, or even warios shipyard! I really hope they add these in dlc (anything to lower the odds of salty-salty speedway being picked online)
I genuinely tried my best here..
Fire Mario
Shadow Mario
N64 Mario
Dry bowser
Koopalings
Diddy kong
King Bob-omb
Poplin
The switch 2 still doesn't have an exclusive 2d mario game, and it would take too long to make a new game after the mario wonder switch 2 edition. So if they were going to make a port or collection of older games, what would they be? My guess would be a collection of smb1, super mario world, and new super mario bros WII.
Option 1. 16 brand new tracks on a new island you can explore in the open world + every retro track is completely remade with new grind rails and shortcuts. Every track has the same graphics as the base game. Reminiscent of the original Mariokart 8 DLC for the WII U, in terms of quality.
Option 2. 32 new tracks that exist only in their own self contained world that cant be explored in the open world, but they are also worse quality in exchange for doubling the track count, and retro tracks won't really expand ontop of the originals. And nitros would be few and far between. More like booster course pass quality.
I have just made a remake of my original dlc idea I posted here a few days ago, the dlc consists of 3 islands, (one per wave). 2 Islands with 8 normal courses 2 cups per wave. And one with only 4 battle courses. The rule I set for myself was 2 retro tracks and 2 nitro per dlc cup. So by the end we would have had 8 retros and 8 new. I thought 16 new race courses total would be easy picks but putting them in islands explorable in free roam was not. The first image is the first island with race courses and the second one is the second island. The third image is in fact the battle island, just for context on the orders for everything coming out. Also, the courses outlined in yellow on my map are nitros. Anyways im going to explain my choices.
Acorn cup:
Daisy hills is just a good track and there's no other reason for it being picked.
For the new "sandcastle" track I just wanted to drive in and out of a big sandcastle
Riverside park is just filler to blend the beach theme with a jungle one for free roam. The reason I picked riverside park instead of lakeside park is just because I wanted to make a whole volcano themed island for the second island, so it wouldnt make sense to have one here here as well. Otherwise the remake would have a ruins theme.
For the "swamp course" I wanted the whole track take place on a thin curving river with almost no land. And im already imagining a downwards part with the current going with you as you drive.
As for the dolphin cup: The "circus track" is kinda a filler nitro tbh, I don't have many plans.
Peach gardens is were I have to ask for feedback because its ALSO filler, not really having any reason for the theme, its just there to fill up the cup. The thing it has going for it though is that if it gets expanded it would be really fun to explore in free roam.
The "palace track" is also filler just to lead up to delfino square, but I wouldn't replace it with anything because something cool could be done with it.
Delfino square exists to simply be fully explorable in free roam, plus its a really good course.
Thats it for wave one. I think it has way too much filler trying to lead up to one track. And no other retros would fit in for the open world.
Wave 2 starts with the ice flower cup: I don't have many ideas for the nitro "Mountain track" but its there because there aren't any non snowy mountains in the base game. Which is a crime since it would be fully explorable. Frappe snowland is here for a weird reason and some big assumptions, there being the fact that if they were going to be new battle courses they would want to reuse old assets and themes and they could also reuse music. And on battle island there is going to be a snow course that would now be able to reuse frappe snowlands assets and music now its in the dlc. Smart or dumb prediction depending on who you ask.
"Ice cave" track has no ideas for it yet but I think it would definitely be slippery which would be interesting.
And this was all a lead up to Sky Garden which would have been fully remade to be a actual floating garden with a kind of ripped from the ground look to it with small chunks of ground and road making up the track. Thats not all though, as there is also a floating town connected by vine bridges, fully explorable again in free roam. And you would get there the same as you would in great ? block ruins. That is by far the best remake in the dlc imo.
As for the spiny cup:
"basalt track" is filler to lead up to grumble volcano.
Shroom ridge is only here because its on the side of the "mountain course" mentioned earlier and the track there would have to be sloped
"red sand track" disappointingly enough is more filler as I would rather mutiple retros go in its place but I need to get the last nitro out if the way.
And lastly there is WII grumble volcano as the last retro. It would have a more industrial theme, kind of like a more traditional bowsers castle style that we dont have in this game.
Also wave 2 has lots of filler that just exists to build up to something else that I made the whole map around.
Now the battle courses. "forest course" could reuse some SNES mario circuit assets and theme "autumn course" could reuse cheep cheep falls assets and theme As mentioned before "snowy course" could reuse frappe snowlands assets and theme And "desert course" could reuse desert hills assets and theme And Battle stadium just returns from Mariokart 8.
What do you think? I think at face value they look like bad picks. But if you factor what could and couldn't go were because of other tracks on the map, its quite good but something still bothers me
I was just thinking of getting a new one because my old one has a noticeable delay, I personally perfer a mouse that has a shallower depth so it detectes the click earlier. I need your recommendations!
This is a hot take but there are only 2 good hunters in my opinion which are ant and sap, and the rest are really just mediocre at best. Some people say bbh is the best when in my opinion he's one if the worst there, sure he used to be good at managing the team like 6 years ago, sure he got 2 or arguably 3 kills, but come on he's not that good, even George has 2 kills. I once saw a video glazing sam for thinking of making a boat in water, and George for making a bed once?! How did this happen?
Does anybody notice how different dream is on youtube now? In late 2021 and 2022, there would be like one video every 3 or 4 months but they were all REALLY good. A downside to that for many people is that every video felt like it had to justify itself with 40 million views and many ideas were never even filmed because "it wasn't enough like manhunt". Whilst new dream will just upload whatever sometimes, he obviously posts manhunts still but stuff like the 10 impostors video that he uploaded just because he thought it was an interesting game would have never have been considered even for a second channel video. I personally perfer the old dream because its easier to rewatch old manhunts but new dream is way better imo with the context of 2026. How do you feel?
So when dream was more popular and the SMP was exploding he was able to get 70 to 140 million views per manhunt, but after it died he only got 7 to 11 million per manhunt-like video, and today he is getting 12 to 16 million views per manhunt. So taking this into account I highly doubt manhunts would have ever broke 10 mill if it weren't for the SMP. But is it possible to determine how popular dream was and somehow find how many views it would get if it just came out today? This isn't meant to be hate but actually to help me get a benchmark for my own videos
