[Not OC] Tourists blast loud music and dance inside Gucchu Paani cave in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
A viral video from Gucchu Paani in Dehradun shows a group of tourists dancing and singing loudly inside the natural cave while crossing knee-deep water. One of them is also seen carrying a large portable speaker and playing music at high volume.
Natural tourist spots aren't party venues. Loud music, dancing and turning a cave into a party venue can disturb other visitors and take away from the character of the place. A little civic sense and respect for the place goes a long way.

BMC to Spend Rs. 25 Lakh on the Mayor’s Social Media Team.
BMC to spend Rs. 25 lakh on Mumbai Mayor’s social media.
BMC plans to spend Rs. 25.12 lakh on a dedicated social media team for the Mayor, even though BMC already has a PR department & social media setup.
That’s over Rs.2 lakh per month.
Is this a necessary administrative expense, or should such spending be questioned when Mumbai has so many pressing civic priorities?
Wait, what? Look who’s finally speaking for his state! At least he realized. When will our Maharashtra leaders realize?
Jindal Stainless Is Looking for Land in Maharashtra: Locals, Don’t Just Sell It. Think About Jobs & Long-Term Opportunities Too.
TL:DR,
Jindal Stainless is looking for land in MH for a Rs.40,000 crore major steel manufacturing project. This can bring huge investment, jobs and development to the area, which is good for MH.
But if this project comes to your area, think about the long-term benefit, not just the money you may get for your land.
A project of this size will need much more than land. It will need water, electricity, roads, transport, warehouses, godowns, housing, offices, canteens, security, maintenance & many other services. A whole new business ecosystem will grow around the plant.
If you are giving up your land for this project, remember that the company will use your land and local resources to build its business. The development should not become a situation where local people give up their land, while people from outside MH come & take most of the jobs & business opportunities created from that very development.
If the land and resources are local, local people should not be left behind when it comes to the benefits. Along with proper compensation, local people should demand jobs for qualified local candidates based on their skills and qualifications, along with skill training and opportunities for local businesses and contractors. Transport, canteens, security, housekeeping, maintenance, material supply and other contracts can also create a continuous source of income for the local community.
A one time payment can run out after some years. But a stable job, business or regular income can support a family for generations & improve their standard of living.
Development is welcome. But if local people are giving their land for a major project, they should also get a fair share of the jobs, businesses and long-term economic opportunities created by it.

Another Hit to Consumers: Maharashtra Electricity Charges Increase.

Lonavala’s Tiger Point: Scenic nature viewpoint or a dance, party venue? [Non-OC]
This viral video shows people playing loud music on speakers and dancing at Tiger Point, Lonavala.
The issue isn't dancing, singing or people having fun. The issue is the place.
Lonavala - Tiger Point is a scenic hill-station viewpoint, visited for its beautiful valley views, greenery, fresh air and peaceful surroundings.
Lonavala isn't a club, concert or disco. People come here to enjoy nature, sightseeing and tranquility.
If someone wants loud music, dancing and partying, there are plenty of places specifically meant for that.
Not every activity belongs at every tourist spot.
There is a difference between enjoying yourself and turning a peaceful sightseeing spot into a party venue.
Mumbai is a coastal city, yet we are now seeing “No Non-Veg Allowed” buildings in Mumbai.
A property agent is openly advertising a building in Tardeo, MUMBAI as a “pure veg building”, with a clear “NO NON-VEG ALLOWED”.
MUMBAI is a coastal city, and non-vegetarian food, especially fish and seafood, has been part of the traditional food culture of many communities here for generations.
This also raises another question. Was one of the biggest mistakes in MUMBAI'S development selling land simply for money, without putting any conditions on how the land or future buildings would be used?
Today, we see buildings being marketed specifically as “pure veg”, where non-vegetarian residents or food are not allowed.
People can choose what they want to eat, that's their choice. But where does this stop?
Today it is “pure veg building.” Tomorrow, what next? More and more restrictions about who can live in a building, what they can eat, what community they belong to, or how they should live?

No insurance, no fuel? Supreme Court seeks Centre's plan to stop fuel sales to uninsured vehicles.
The Supreme Court has asked the Centre and the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) to submit a plan for a pilot project that could stop petrol and diesel sales to vehicles without valid third-party insurance. The Court also suggested using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras and other technology to identify uninsured vehicles.
According to the Court, a significant number of vehicles on Indian roads do not have valid insurance, which can leave accident victims without proper compensation.
What Do Navi Mumbaikars Think About Large Scale Cluster Redevelopment ? Will It Improve the City or Make It Unlivable ?
Recent debates related to cluster redevelopment have brought about concerns regarding the future of Navi Mumbai. While cluster redevelopment may lead to replacement of old and dilapidated buildings and enhance the standards of living, it has also created concerns about its future impact on infrastructure of the city.
Cluster redevelopment is believed to upgrade the old parts of the city, improve the standards of living, and ensure proper use of lands. There are some who are afraid that increase in density without an equivalent improvement in infrastructure like - roads, water supply, sewage, electricity supply, drainage, dumping grounds, transportation, schools, hospitals, parking lots, and other civic amenities may burden the city.
Navi Mumbai has long been known for its planned development, wide roads, and better quality of life, but much of that planning dates back decades. With rapid urban growth and the ongoing plans for large scale cluster redevelopment, many believe equal emphasis should be placed on upgrading the city's infrastructure.
Putting politics apart, how do you see it fellows of Navi Mumbai?

Maharashtra bans analogue (non-dairy) paneer; violators face up to 6 months' jail and Rs. 1 lakh fine
The state has imposed a one-year ban on the manufacture, storage, transport, distribution and sale of unstandardised analogue (non-dairy) paneer due to food safety concerns. Violators can face up to 6 months in jail and a fine of up to Rs. 1 lakh.
As consumers, this is a welcome move. Food fraud has become a serious issue, and many people unknowingly end up buying or eating products marketed as paneer that aren't actually made from milk.

FSSAI bars Dabur from selling products carrying '100%' claims, cites misleading labels.
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has stopped Dabur from selling some products with labels that say "100% Natural", "100% Pure", "100% Organic", and similar claims. According to the regulator, these claims can mislead customers because they cannot always be proved. The products reportedly include honey, ghee, coconut water, coconut milk, sesame oil, coconut oil, and apple cider vinegar.
Many food brands use words like "100% Natural", "Pure", "Healthy", or "Fresh" on their packaging. As customers, it is difficult to know whether these claims are actually true.

Commercial satellite imagery published by India Today indicates that at least 12 Chinese J-20 stealth fighters were observed at the Hotan (Xinjiang) and Damxung (Tibet) airbases, both located opposite India's northern frontier.
According to the report, the imagery shows:
- 8 J-20s at Hotan Air Base
- 4 J-20s at Damxung Air Base
The report cites analysis of commercially available satellite imagery and notes that these deployments represent one of the largest observed concentrations of J-20 aircraft near the India-facing sector in recent years.
The article does not say why the jets are there, how long they will stay, or what they are meant to do. As with all satellite images, only what is directly visible in the imagery can be confirmed.
