Should I be concerned about neighbour's incoming AC units

Should I be concerned about neighbour's incoming AC units

House on the right is my Victorian end of terrace. I have no windows on the wall, but I do have my front door (where the lantern is on the wall). My bedroom window and dining room window is next to where I am standing on the back of my house. My neighbours on the left side are having external AC units attached to the wall near the red switch. Should I be concerned? It might not look nice, but that's not up to me... but will it be noisy? Anything else I should know? Are there planning regs around where these things can go, etc.? Thanks!

When I come off the brake slowly, sometimes the car creeps forward, sometimes it doesn't... help

I like the creep - otherwise when I am trying to reverse-bay park, I have to use the accelerator, which is a bit too powerful in tight spaces. But it's not consistent - what am I doing wrong? (New EX30, UK)

Recommendations for standard wall plug charger (UK)

I’ve got a new EX30 single motor in the UK. It came with a charging cable, but it’s got the industrial style plugs either end. I’d like to buy a cable that I can plug into a standard UK wall socket to use for emergencies (I know it’s slow!). Has anyone got any recommendations for a good one? I’ve got no idea where to start!

My garden office is rotting. Is it fixable, and what trade would I call?

This wooden garden summer house came with my house, so I have no idea how old it is, but I use it as an office regularly. However, as you can see in the photos it's really falling apart and rotting. It's really leaning to one side, one door doesn't open, I can put my finger through the wooden doorframe, etc...

Is there anything that can be done to save it, and who would I call for help? Or does it need knocking down and rebuilding...

Does anyone use just the digital key on their phone?

Inspired by a comment on another post I made, when I said my plan was to use just my phone to unlock/start my new EX30, someone said “always carry the card as well - in case the phone doesn’t work.” Sort of defeats the point of the digital key? My plan was to put the cards and fob in the safe and forget about them…

What’s the little indentation for on the driver’s door handle?

If you’re using your key card it needs to be tapped on the window.

If you’re using your phone it either taps on the window or unlocks as you approach, if you have proximity allowed.

If you’re using the fob, it unlocks as you approach.

So what does the inch-long indentation do on the driver’s door handle with regards to locking and unlocking?

Or have I misunderstood something!

Confused about battery types and charging to 80% on Single Motor model

I have a new 2026 Single Motor EX30 — not the extended range version. The dealership told me I should limit my charging to 80% most of the time. I went to charge it for the first time today, but couldn't find a setting to limit the charging to 80%. A bit of Googling led me to understand that the non-extended range has a different type of battery to the extended range model, and that mine should, in fact, be charged to 100%. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks!

Where to stay for one night between Copenhagen and Aarhus

After five days in Copenhagen I've got to make my way to Aarhus for work — but I have one night spare currently. Out of all the towns the train stops at (Odense, Frederica, Vejle, Horsens and Skanderborg), which is the nicest to stop in for a night? I will be with my wife, and after so long in a city it would be nice for something calmer, like a small charming small town, or something a bit rural. It's even better if there is a lovely hotel there. Thank you!

I’ve had a really disappointing time with Mr & Mrs Smith - does anyone know where to complain?

Crossposted from r/chubbytravel…

I recently decided to switch all my bookings to Mr and Mrs Smith, because they has good offers and a great price match offering. I booked three holidays in the space of 10 days, but things started to unravel with missed cancellations, wrong information, no callbacks and so on. I ended up a few thousand pounds out of pocket due to their mistakes - and quite a stressful holiday.

I emailed them through their website form outlining all their errors, and received a reply from “smith@smithhotels.com” offering me £25. I replied three weeks ago, saying it was a bit of an insult, and have sent two follow ups, but heard nothing back. I’m quite shocked at their CS, whilst they claim it’s USP.

Does anyone have any idea where to escalate this to?

Thanks!

Where can I see a 'Sand Dune' Volvo near London/Essex

I'm after a new EX30 Plus and would like the additional motorised seats. One is available in stock, meaning I don't have to wait until August, but it's in the new 'Sand Dune' colour. The garages nearest me in east London don't have any cars in that colour. All the photos online look so different. Where can I see one in person in or near London or Essex? Dealers/forecourts/car parks etc!

Buying my first (vintage) Mercedes - what to know

Hello. Buying my first car (in London). I’ve got my eye on this Mercedes, but having never bought a car - let alone a thirty year old sports car - what should I look for when going to view it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
