14 month separation anxiety
We be struggling over here fam! We are deep in a sleep regression. Very little daytime sleep and we are back to contact napping. The second I try to put her in the crib she grips on and starts crying.
I’m home with her so the naps aren’t the biggest deal. It’s a little annoying because I am getting nothing done during the day but it is what it is.
Night time on the other hand…
My husband puts her to sleep every night and she goes down much easier with him. He typically can put her in the crib, sit in the chair for a bit, and leave with her still awake and she’ll eventually just fall asleep.
With me it’s the clinging on and crying. He’s going to be away for a night (I know I know, it’s just one night) and I am wondering how the heck I’m going to get this one to sleep. Even if she falls asleep on me, the second I go to put her in the crib she cries.
I don’t even know if I’m looking for advice (i mean if you have it, please share). Maybe just solidarity? Lol. Or just anyone else who has gone through the separation anxiety phase. Does it end? 😭
Capless gas system
I’m sorry if this isn’t the right sub, but my car dealership is useless right now!
Question about the capless gas system. I did not realize there was a special funnel needed if using a gas can and I put some gas in the car. Did I completely mess up? Will I know if there is/isn’t damage? I have no check engine light on but I am nervous I broke a car I just got! Any advice or reassurance is welcome, please!!
Didn’t know it was the last time
So I’m feeling a little sad…
My 1 year old has dropped all feeds except for the one before bed. She does overnights but that’s just comfort nursing, which I plan to drop soon as well.
The problem is I put her to bed tonight without the night feed because she seems ready. Come to find out, I was not. It hit me that it’s almost over. It basically is. I don’t really count the overnights since she is barely awake for them.
My question - if I do a feed tomorrow before bed, as the true last one, will I mess her up? I don’t want to do something just for my benefit if it will confuse her. It just didn’t hit me until it was too late. And now I’m feeling bummed and wish I could take it back and feed her tonight and remember our last feed together.
Any advice or support is welcome 🥲
Butter chicken
She loved this! Trying to get better at cooking recipes for us that baby will enjoy too.
Recipe is from Budget Bytes 😊
How to keep guests cool
Hey all! I’m having my daughter’s 1st bday party this weekend and it’s going to be HOT. Around 90 degrees and probably humid. I am low key freaking out! Is there *any* way to keep guests cool? Do I have to cancel because it will be too miserable? We’re going to bring box fans and I’m thinking of getting spray bottles for water and maybe even towels to keep in a cooler.
Will that be enough or will everyone just hate being there 😅
Also there’s no way to move it inside :( The hall at the park is not an option because it has water damage. And it’s just too many people for our house.
Any creative tips would be more than appreciated!!
Girls with no real friend group, how do you get by?
I’m in my 30s with no real friend group. I get along with the girls I’ve met through my husband but I still feel very much on the outside of the group. I love hanging out with my husband, he’s my best friend. And I’ve recently become a mother so that definitely keeps me busy. But it would be nice to have people, or even one person lol, that I could talk to.
Does anyone else experience this? It’s strange having basically no friends and makes me feel pretty bad about myself sometimes. If you do deal with this, how do you do it? Am I destined to have no real friends for the rest of my life??
Night weaning cold turkey?
My baby turns one at the end of the month (😭) and I’m planning to start weaning when she does. Between water/snacks/distractions I’m not too worried about the day time feeds. I can already feel her nursing less and less during the day.
The night time feeds however…. I have always nursed her back to sleep when she wakes in the middle of the night. Apart from regressions/teething she usually wakes twice a night. My plan is to send my husband in for night wakes because he can get her down much easier. Although, we’ve never tried it in the middle of the night so I’m not sure how that will be.
My question is - will removing night feeds cold turkey be bad for her? I don’t want to do anything that will cause stress. And should I start with the night feeds or save them for last?
ETA: if you did successfully wean by having your partner go instead, how long was it until you could go in snd comfort baby without them expecting the boob?
Any advice would be appreciated!! Thank you!!
Turkey and sweet potato meatballs with veggie and lentil pasta sauce & broccoli cheddar bites
Does anybody have experience with either companies? We are thinking about going with Window World in Wappingers but I have seen Hobson Windows come up as well so I wanted to see if it was worth getting a quote from them. Any insight would be helpful! Thank you!
Anyone else planning to wean when your baby turns one next month?
How are you feeling?! What are your game plans??
I am both anxious and extremely ready lol. But am also starting to feel a little emotional about this journey coming to an end! I can’t believe it’s already been a year 😭
