Curious how many people use a Circular Polarizer for the majority of their shoots?

Have started throwing one on and it works great for floors and glare but does whacky stuff to windows and skies sometimes, even when rotated to lessen the effect.

Just wondering if its worth the hassle and just fix in post, which would be hard for glare but still

Nica trip in August

Thinking to go back to Nica after a long time and take my son who is learning to surf.

Last time we hit SJdR and it was decent but looking to find a different area even somewhere that has a variety of breaks, preferably point break in case a big swell rolls in.

Also wanting to rent a car to get around and do a side trip to Leon with the Mrs.

Any reccos would be really appreciated and any tips in case things have changed a lot in the 10 years since I visited

Much appreciated

Any opinions about Canon 45mm Tilt Shift vs 50mm Tilt Shift only for architecture?

Does anyone opinions about Canon 45mm Tilt Shift vs 50mm Tilt Shift only for architecture?

Always looking for the best gear for the job but seems like I can find the 45mm used for under $500 and the 50mm is much more expensive but looks like a newer design.

I won't be using it for Macro though which seems its primary purpose.

Would love to hear people personal experience with either and any advice about which to get

Thanks

Does any use the Canon 24mm Tilt Shift with the Canon R5 MkII?

HI, does any use the Canon 24mm Tilt Shift with the Canon R5 MkII?

Im having an issue with this combo as the camera reads the 24mm as the 17mm TSE so when it applies Illumination Corrections they are all wrong. One tech at Canon said send it in but I think it might be an issue with the EF-RF Adapter and lens communicating with the camera.

If anyone has this set up too would you mind having a look to see if you have the same issue?

Thanks

Is my Canon 24mm Tilt Shift damaged?

Was shooting interiors with my Canon 24mm Tilt shift lens with RF adapter and decided to compare to RF 15-35mm I immediately noticed that th 24mm had a darker center area (so lighter edges) compared to the zoom and the image looked unevenly lit when it wasn’t. Tried with a regular RF adapter, clear dropin filter and CPL but they all gave the same result. Is there something wrong with the lens or do other people experience this also?

Vignetting with 17mm + 24mm Canon Tilt Shift Lenses

Noticed a dark Centre and flared out edges on both my Tilt Shift lenses, shooting them at f9 so nothing crazy. Tried with regular ef-rf adapter, then clear filter drop in and CPL drop in and all the same All in soft even lit interior Compared to RF 15-35 and the difference was striking. RF looked crisp and the same exposure across the whole frame. Has anyone experience this? Doubt there is any physical issues with the lenses and there are no drop marks and the focus is smooth. Any ideas would be appreciated Thanks J

Cracked corner of Windscreen

Hi, just noticed the the top driver side corner of our Outback got cracked. The protective coating has come off and the pieces are a bit loose. No leaking thankfully. Hoping I can get it fixed somehow without replacing the whole windscreen. Perhaps some glue and an adhesive coating Any suggestions would be really appreciated Thanks

Help using a Circular Polarizer properly

Ive started using a Circular polarizer to see if it improves my images and did some exteriors with it but the effect was really extreme in the sky in certain instances (front + side lit) when I spun the filter to its strongest orientation.

Is there a general rule for using them or a best practices, I think I can undo it a bit but I would prefer to use it properly so any advice would be appreciated

thx

Does anyone have bad flare issues with Canon 17mm Tilt Shift lens?

I shot an interior yesterday with this awesome lens but they had big industrial overhead lights to light the Lounge and im notice terrible lens flair. Fixable with some retouch but disappointed its happening with lens and makes me concerned if I use it for heavily backlit situations.

I put a big wide rubber lens hood on it but doesn't really do anything as the light is going straight into the barrel from above

Do other people have the same issue and can you recommend a fix?

Drop In Filter Canon vs Meike

HI, ive got a Canon Drop In Filter with CP for use on Tilt Shift Lenses and it works great but now I need an ND and the Canon is quite expensive.

Breakthrough is Back Ordered so Meike seems the best option. Any reasons not to get it?

Curious about Cam Ranger

I do different types of interiors, some with an assistant and tether to laptop for higher end shoots and then some solo quick and on the go just viewing from the camera screen. Now I’m wondering about Cam Ranger and using an iPad to view while shooting. Could be a good way to have a bit more precision Have never seen one in action and wondering if people like it, if it’s only a viewer or stores the files too. Any advice would be appreciated Thanks

Polarizer and Windows

Just got my tilt shift lens with a Rf-EF adapter and a Circular Polarizer but I’m wondering if I’ll have issues with tempered glass when I stop down for the window drop ins. Has anyone had issues with this especially in high rise buildings or with large panes of glass. I have a Canon non-filtered adapter I could use also. Thanks for any advice as I don’t want to mess up any shoots

Do you like Canon Extenders?

Going on assignment into the jungle and thinking to get an extend my EF 70-200 f2.8 with the 2x III rather than throw down for another lens for wildlife and details

Would be using it on a R5 so: Body, RF-EF adapter, extender and lens.

I think it should work without any issue or quality lose

Wondering if people like the image quality with the extender and if one extender is better than another.

Thanks

Budget $250 USD

Country US currency $USD

What equipment - Canon

if any, you have now and why is it no longer meeting your needs - Need a longer focal length

What kinds of subjects do you intend to shoot - this would be primarily for wildlife

Is it primarily for photography, videography, or both - Only Photo
