EDS Partners/Spouses?

I only ever found out about EDS from my wife who was also diagnosed shortly before I was. Apparently, a lot of times EDS people end of finding each other, who knew? Idk if there’s any science to back this up besides anecdotal but I’m curious if anyone else has an EDS partner and how you both found out you had it?

Welcome all Hypermobile Homies!

Hey everyone, I'm u/jjdub97 and I created this community! I want to be clear, "men" is a loose term. As you can see by the rules and community info, this is space for those with any form of EDS that have not been able to relate or find community with the majority of those that share this condition.

This community is for everyone, but its main focus is on how EDS affects those who were assigned men or intersex at birth. A community talking about these people specifically has been hard to find in my personal experience, and this is my effort to make one. Basically, to any woman reading this, please don't feel excluded from this community!

Please feel free to share whatever is on your mind or heart regarding your condition freely in r/MenWithEhlersDanlos, I hope for this to be the place you find the community you've been looking for. If you don't have EDS but want to support, you're welcome too! Thanks for checking out the community!

Posts Make the Community, Right?

I (28M) myself was diagnosed recently with hEDS and man, it sucks lol. I thought I was just super bendy but now I have a referral to a cardiologist.

As the first post here, I just wanted to say welcome to anyone that stops by and welcome any support or love you have to give. It’s been really hard for me to find other guys with this diagnosis that are trying to learn how to live their best lives, so that’s why we’re here.

Also, I’m the only mod and I’ve never done that before, so I’m very open to anyone who wants to join the Mod Team. On that note, I also want to reiterate that everyone is welcome here, regardless of any demographic. This is a place to learn more about Ehlers-Danlos as it affects men, whoever you are.

I hope to see lots more bendy bros and those that know them or want to know more about them join in the future, would love to connect with you! My DMs are open!

Calling All Bendy Bros

Hi friends, after a recent diagnosis and joining this community, I (28M) have experienced how helpful it is to have people around that can help with what I’m going through. Sadly, a lot of the research tends to lean toward women with EDS, which makes perfect sense given the majority of those who do get diagnosed are women.

As a guy, though, I’ve been having some trouble finding other men to talk to about EDS. Women have of course been extremely helpful, I would just love to hear about more experiences from guys like me.

I created a community, r/MenWithEhlersDanlos, for **anyone** to join and be a part of, almost as a sub-community of this one where people can go for posts and advice geared more toward men. It is not exclusive in any way, anyone is welcome to post, I just wanted to create the place I’d been seeking. I hope this is allowed, my intention is pure🫶

👋Welcome to r/MenWithEhlersDanlos - Say Hi, Be Nice, and Share!

Hey everyone! I'm u/jjdub97, the founding moderator of r/MenWithEhlersDanlos.
This is a new community aimed to make community of an often overlooked group of people. This is to help anyone who has been diagnosed with EDS in any variety find a sense of community where they haven't been able to find it before. This is a great place to find tips on living life with our condition, have discussions on helpful habits, and mostly lifting each other up when things are extra hard.

What to Post
The rules on posting are very lax, as long as it has some sort of relevance, it belongs! I’m fresh to the Reddit Mod game, so if you see something that shouldn’t belong, feel free to shoot me a message. Feel free to post stories, questions, rants, tips, whatever is on your mind without a good place to post it.

Community Vibe
This space is designed for men that have been diagnosed with a condition that is commonly diagnosed in women and goes undetected in men. The purpose here is to understand that men and women may experience the condition differently and this will provide a specific place where other men can look. The r/EhlersDanlos community is amazing as well, consider this a supporting community to that one.

How to Get Started
Make a post, leave a comment, upvote something you relate to, it doesn’t matter. Being involved is being involved, and personally I’m just happy you’re here.

My moderation of this sub will be somewhat minimal, however I implore everyone to please be as helpful, encouraging, and positive as possible. That being said, dark humor is no stranger to me and only truly inappropriate comments will be removed. Thank you for being part of this!

Dina’s Bag of Meth

I haven’t thought about this until now (not a big meth guy), but from what I understand… this is like… a lot of meth, right? I imagine Dina stealing it from someone outside the store who she immediately pegs as a dealer but he’s actually an undercover cop trying to perform a sting operation and she ends up with the meth anyway because she’s, well, Dina.

Plus, this being in the pilot is absolute gold.

Wait… THESE cups?

On my [redacted]th watch of this show and I just now made the connection that this is who got fired for farting in the cups hahahahahaha

He was always memorable to me before just as the guy who thought that Lance Bass was the opposite of H*tler lol

Homeowners: Deer in Your Lawn, Loved or Hated?

Hey friends, I’ve lived in the Springs for a while but only in an apartment so far. When I drive around, a lot of times I’ll see deer laying in people’s front lawns in random neighborhoods, not a care in the world. I know obviously if they lay in your garden, they smash all the flowers and likely eat some plants and stuff, but I’ve always been enamored by these calm beauties just confidently lounging out in public.

My question is, for people who own homes and have deer that do this, do you welcome it and enjoy seeing them or is it more of an annoying nuisance since they’ll likely eat some stuff? Personally, I’d probably be putting out food and salt blocks for them😂

How my lobes lookin?

I (28M) did all my stretching before finding this community and learning that I didn’t follow…. any of the recommended stretching procedures. I haven’t had any issues (or am too naïve to have noticed lol) and am up to a 0g (8mm). I think they look good? Maybe? Open to critique or any feedback lol, if I do stretch anymore it won’t be much, just for info’s sake. Also, yes, I only pictured one ear, both look and feel the same, sorry in advance if that’s ignorant😅

Ideas on Finishing my Sleeve?

Hi everyone, I got my sleeve done last year and am still absolutely in love with it, and it’s healed great except for a spot near my elbow that’s kind of faded already.

A couple months after getting it, I decided that I want to add to it, make it a bit darker, and make it look more complete. Now that it’s been healed over a year I’m starting to look into actually getting it done.

I have my own ideas on what I might do, but I wanted to ask here too because y’all always have such amazing ideas. I’m wanting to fill in my elbow, armpit, and maybe extend it more on to the top/front/back of my shoulder. Thoughts?

Glenn’s song when he’s taking Rose to the potty

“Theeee wicked little children
Went down to the beach

Learning all the naughty thing
The people there do teach

Learn about murder while
Playing in the saaaaaaand

And learn about lying
While skipping ‘cross the land”

I’ve (28M) tried finding friends on Finch but haven’t had great luck, including in the megathread on this sub. I just want some other homies that use Finch that would wanna be friends. My question is, are y’all out there or am I the only guy that actually loves this app? How do other guys use this app if you do? Do you find it helps you, even though it can tend to be a little cutesy and not very “manly”? Just curious what other dudes have to say (and if you wanna be friends just DM me lol)

This picture just gets me every time. I’ve been trying to find it and happened to notice a quick moment where it’s focused on in the Hot Store episode lol
