I'm seeing hype about "integrated systems" like the power wall and now ecoflow ocean. Are these systems worth the cost for better home resell value? I plan to sell my home in about 5 years and don't want to be in a situation where my DIY install is an impediment.
I’m trying to decide between moving to Cheyenne or Fremont county, CO. Both are conservative and lower cost of living.
Cheyenne has no state income tax, which would save me about 8k/year. No real wildfire risk.
Fremont has a bit lower property tax and much better weather. No data center threats either.
I just spent $2,500 on this thing and feel like it was the stupidest decision ever after reading all the posts here about everything being crap and eventually breaking.
I even bought it at a local appliance store because of my mistrust with installers. They only sell Frigidaire/Electrolux and SpeedQueen.
But what choice do we have? I can’t afford a subzero.
P.S. I can’t believe I chose a fridge with two ice makers lol
It was windy and this dryer vent flap sounded like a cowbell. The builder said once I have a dryer installed it should offset the pressure and lay flush. I call BS.
There are other vents with the same flap that are flush all the time. I think this is just a bad install.

Brand new home, just moved in. I found this gap between baseboard and tile. Is this something I should try and have the builder fix? Or is it easy enough for me to handle? I’m worried about water.
I closed on a home in Florence, CO today. I love the house.
But I spent hours thinking about how I should've bought in Cheyenne instead. Mainly because I pay 7k/year in state income tax just to continue funding corruption.
Florence is in Fremont County, which is very conservative and has lower tax and insurance, but the state is moving more and more into communism.
I do hate wind, but maybe I would've gotten used to it.
I'm also starting a business soon and WY is friendlier and cheaper than CO for businesses.

Beyond the regional utility concerns, the nearest DC is 3.x miles from the home. Is that too close?

West has beautiful landscape but colder and windier. Windmills are eyesores. Closer to Laramie and outdoor rec. Limited school options.
East is better for growing and animals. More schools (carpenter and burns). Plain landscape.
East and west would offer private well. I hear water is expensive in Cheyenne? Rural would also offer ground level solar and potential for off grid.
In-town … well, how I’ve lived all my life. Ready for more adventure and challenge but don’t want to bite off more than I can chew. A realtor told me to live in the city first before considering going “county”.
