Another kamikaze, who else agrees?

I’m at a point now where I no longer care for bragging rights on how the hole looks. Accuracy is cool! Don’t get me wrong. But functional kamikaze methods are what matters. At first I was into the whole “OH LOOK HOW SMALL MY KAMIKAZE WAS!” Now I’m like, “eh. Who cares” it gets covered anyway with solder mask after the wire is attached. And likely never to be seen again. Am I the only one? First pic is when I was really trying hard to make the smallest possible. Second is one I did today. Both successful, both completely cover in mask after. Thoughts? Do you think it matters? Or is it purely bragging rights.

[PS5] Console doesn’t seem to connect to UART?

I soldered on the uart connections, and plug the console in, but when I select the device, and try to connect, shows it’s not connected anymore. Any ideas? Kinda stumped and I think it has a ram issue, I have replacement Chips, only issue is I don’t know which one is the issue!

New ball tip kamikaze

Had to share, got a new ball tip 0.3mm for my grinding pen, and wow did it make a difference. Probably my best hole for a kamikaze yet, and I’ve been doing them for a while now. :)

After each one, genuinely. They look better and better.

My 4th successful kamikaze method hole, I’m a fan of this size.

Ready for the hate lol

My first attempt (on a dead board) of a kamikaze method to attach the DAT0 trace to the modchip, lmk what you think haha don’t hate too hard. Learned a lot.

[switch] Finished product. Bricked to beautiful.

Took longer to edit this video than it did to actually complete, went from a failed modchip install, to new motherboard and successfully mod chipped. The Mario Switch is ALIVEEE! :)))

Have a failed attempted Modchip installation on a Mario OLED :) fun times.

**EDIT** The new installation was successfully done. Just have to edit down the hour long video haha 😆

Pretty sure they shorted out the APU. Probably left the power supply attached while attempting. All resistors and capacitors are functional, so I’m not sure. Besides the one they knocked off the APU.

Either way, going to replace the motherboard entirely. And also properly install a picofly to the new PCB. Stay tuned, I’ll post a video of the install later on today! 😎😁

[Switch] Ahhh how I love when a couple more installs go right.

Finished an OLED and a V2 within 2 hours, both came out great. :))

Switch oled installs are probably my fav to do. Lite being second, last being v1/v2.

I have a DLP PJ WXL4761, and got it second hand, the back looks like it might have been dropped. And the image is being displayed. But pointing either aggressively upward or downward depending on orientation settings obv. You can see something isn’t right. And I don’t know what to do..

Switch lite and oled completed today :) that’s my 6th oled done and my first lite! The lite ribbon cable sucks. So I ended up wiring manually.

I botched my first install. Ruined a oled motherboard. Too deep on the D point. Since then! No failures!
