Just bought this to cut underlayment as I start flooring soon (building our home)
How to prevent mold with engineered hardwood on concrete slab? Building home in humid PNW
My understanding is that concrete vents and cures over 30 years - and therefore needs to “breathe” and not sealed off completely. Is that true? Because if so, a glued down engineered hardwood floor would form a vapor seal that traps all the moisture underneath the floor.
We live on the PNW coast and moisture and humidity are key concerns. I’m thinking of putting down eco cork foam underlayment then floating engineering hardwood.

Insulation going in. Feels real now 2.5 yrs since project start.
Just felt a moment of peace because it’s been a journey so far. Lots more to go but feels like a milestone that mechanicals are 99% set now that insulation is halfway done and drywall will start soon
Suggestions for wall sconce above entryway
Building our dream house and need help selecting a wall sconce for above the front entryway
Our plans called for wall sconces to either side of the garage door and either side of windows and glass sliding doors. And right next to the front door, there should have been a wall sconce would be between the door and window.
Unfortunately, the construction reality meant that the studs are in the way between the window and door, and we cannot install a sconce there. So the electrician put the wire higher up instead. What light should we pick that matches the rest?

Where do I find Bosch utility blades? If not Bosch, what brands do you recommend?
I’m totally considering Bosch just so that I can have my Bosch fandom well fed. Totally aware utility knife blades are interchangeable.
Appliance from local appliance store or Home Depot? Home Depot cheaper by ~$750 for the same stuff with the Memorial Day sales
Money is money. And local appliance shop is super slow at responding to each email. Guy is also making me pay with check so I would lose all the credit card points.
I can click a few buttons on my app and order on Home Depot too…
What do you think?
fyi: free stand with 18v miter saw kit at Lowe’s
I get no commission. Just sharing in case anyone is looking for deals with new tools coming down the pipeline later this year
I’m looking for the best in terms of healthiness (no mold, off gassing) and durability (water moisture issues). Is what I’m looking for going to achieve those goals or is what the GC putting together ok too?
