Mandragora: WOTWT steam?

Trying to find this game on steam deck, strangely isn’t appearing for me on the store via search.

Is it the same for anyone else? Assumed it would be available to purchase?

Separately views on the game itself?

Edit: some reason my preferences at steam “hid” the game. Have now fixed it

Just started the game..

Hi,

Just started the game, is it normal for the map to display the treasure?

I seem to be picking up lots and lots of treasure and not really doing anything with it

Played it for 20 mins and I’m like erm wtf
I’m using character Miriam and on “normal”

(I haven’t played any castlevanias only more modern metroidvanias, Hollow knight, SS, nine sols etc)

Any guidance welcome - thanks

Can’t complete room - help

Couple of rooms I can’t seem to find to complete

Firstly is there anyone that can help me with this room below witch’s hermitage.

Secondly is there a website that has the complete map with all the hidden items on it so it can help me with a few other rooms

Thanks

Ender Lillie’s ability help

Spoilers welcome

What do I need to get to go through these?

Appears to be blocking me currently on area Twin (something)

Edit: twin whatever is a horrible area

Got all the gauntlet with a elevator on it and died

So frustrating to have to go so far back :(

Finding it very hard

I’m up to catacombs, not sure if I am just awful at the game but I am finding it very punishing.

Quite frustratingly. Nine sols largely known for being hard feels a lot easier to me.

Hope it changes as I don’t want to quit through frustration

Main spirits using gerrods bat and the witches fireballs.

Not struggling with the bosses either, just the general combat as navigating around the maps

Help and advice welcome

Blasphemous 2 - I am struggling

I’m about 3 hours into Blasphemous 2 and I’m a bit conflicted.

I’ve seen so many people rank it among the very best metroidvanias ever made, and I really want to love it.

There was a point around the 1 to 2 hour mark where I genuinely thought, “This could be incredible.”

But for some reason it just isn’t fully clicking with me.

I’m trying to work out whether it’s just not for me, or whether I’m approaching it with the wrong mindset.

I love games like Silk Song, Hollow Knight, Ori, Nine Sols and before I go.

Blasphemous 2 is the first game I’m trying to give a proper chance too that’s pixel art and I have began to see past it.

The movement feels a bit heavier than I expected.

I’m not getting that constant sense of excitement from exploring that I get in games like Hollow Knight.

I’ve just unlocked the second weapon, so I know I’m still fairly early.

Did anyone else feel like this initially? Was there a point where everything clicked for you?
Or is it possible that, despite all the praise, it’s just one of those games that doesn’t resonate with everyone?

Rank your top 4/5 non pixel art MVs

Hi all.

Really keen to see what everyone’s tier list is for Metroidvanias that are not Pixel at and why.

Mine is:
SS - best overall
HK - best for exploration
Before I Go - best platforming
Nine Sols - best combat
Ori 2 - I liked the story and gameplay 😬

Aeterna Noctus (2hrs)
Prince of Persian (3hrs)
Grime (3hrs)

Own and unplayed
Couple I have played for very short periods 10mins or so

After Image
Grime 2
Somber Echoes

Ender Lillies Restart

Hi all

Just completed Before I go and loved it.

Going to give Ender Lillies another go, started it previously and played it for 30mins then got side tracked.

Anyone who is a big fan, any tips / early guidance welcome.

Before I Go Final Boss

Only boss I’ve come up against in the game that hasn’t been extremely easy.

Anyone know how to tell the difference between when the spider jumps or dashes forward, the movement is very similar.

Tips welcome

Edit: struggling to identify 3 patterns
Dash across bottom
Jump over
Beam across the floor

Before I Go

Really struggled to find a game I couldn’t put down after Silksong. But I’ve played two hours of before I go, and it’s fantastic. Really enjoying the platforming.

My top tier
SS
Hollow Knight
Ori WOTW
Nine Sols
MIO

Have tried and gave up quite quickly
Elder Lillies
Blasphemous (I struggle with pixel art but will come back to this)
F.I.S.T
Solateria

Prince of Persia I gave some time to but didn’t care enough after 5 or so hours

Anyone else any thoughts on Before I Go and games I might be overlooking.

Freezing bug

Bought the game yesterday, on steam deck. Plays fine. Then it if I leave it for 5 mins, upon returning to the game it’s unresponsive to any buttons, only touch screen.

Any fixes?

Edit this is getting a lot worse, anytime I leave it just for 30 seconds it’s unresponsive.
I have to edit the game controller and apply controller settings to web browser. Then put it back to recommended one.

Almost unusable

Worldless

Giving the demo a go, surprised to find not many YouTube videos available for tutorials on the combat.

How was it received when it was initially launched?
Anyone who played it and enjoyed it any tips?

Lost crown - Too easy?

Hi
I’m a couple of hours into Prince of Persia and finding the combat quite easy.

I’ve just beaten a buffalo style beast in the forest on my second try.

Does it get harder or should I restart the game on a harder difficulty? - I don’t think it’s possible to adjust game difficulty on a started game. So I want to be sure before I go too far ahead.

I’m used to SS and just finished Nine Sols for comparison.

Edit: there’s no run back either for the bosses I’ve faced, which seems to make the process easier

Edit 2: found the difficulty settings and changed to hero from warrior 🙌

Metroidvanias with Parry

Loving Nine Sols, near the end.

What other metroidvanias have parry has a main part of combat? - I find Nine Sols extremely difficult but very rewarding when it “clicks”

Edit: lots of recommendations for Grime. It’s on my list.

Will do that next.

Help needed 12% in

Hi,

Been playing for 5 hours and I’m 12% in. Done lots of exploring but now find myself repeating the same places and not getting progression.

What have I missed?

I’ve beaten the devourer
I’ve got the dash ability
I can climb up walls
I’ve stumbled across a castles which one won’t let me in without a key
And the character in the screenshot that won’t speak to me until I remember his name, (in assembly of heroes)

Where should I go next?

Also I occasionally see yellow circles and I’ve tried to interact with them but nothing happens, I will assume I need an ability for those.

All help appreciated

(I’m fine with spoilers)

Aeterna Noctus - Devourer

I’ve been playing this game for an hour or so, maybe bit more.

First boss I’m facing is the devourer, he seems extremely tough for a first boss.

Have I missed any and stumbled across here too early? Haven’t recieved any extra abilities bar dash at this stage.

Quite a few skill points though I’ve used.

Edit: it appears I’ve beaten him. But questions still stand, anything obvious I’ve missed?

Switch 2 to Steam Deck

Hi all

I’ve bought a steam deck, I’m looking for games that ran very poor on switch that I can try on steam deck

Grime is one, any others you can recommend?

Also if anyone has made the change over to Steam Deck, how did you find it? Any things you would recommend I try to maximize usage.

Have some mods for hollow knight, but only interested in things that add game play like expansion packs and extra boxes. I have pale court, any other?

Thanks, all help appreciated

Ender Lillies - slow start?

Bought Ender Lillies a while back, played it for about an hour didn’t think much of it?

What am I missing? As it gets so much love on here.

My MV experience so far, loved SS and HK.

Played about 18 hrs of Nine Sols now and can’t put it down.

I loved MIO and Ori at first but both became a bit slow for me at the end, mainly MIO.

Will revisit EL eventually just want to know others thoughts, feels like I am missing something, didn’t click?
