Need some advice about a housing situation.

I’m currently in my second year of community college and planning to transfer to a university for next year. My close friend goes to this university and she’s been helping me out. She wants us to room together, which I think would be nice. However I feel like I’m keeping her waiting.

I sent my application to the school a few weeks ago (late August) and it still hasn’t gotten back to me. My friend notified me that many leases have to be signed around November, which is why I sent my application in so long ago. She’s been looking at apartments, and many of them are very very expensive. She’s was able to find a house with a few of her friends that’s close to school, spacious and pretty cheap per person. Everyone is in board, and I was just told that the lease must be signed by next week.

I still haven’t received my letter, so I called admissions office, and they said I won’t receive my answer until this current fall semester is over and my fall grades get sent in. So before I finish this sem, send the grades, and before they process them and get back to me… it’ll be December/January.

I’ve applied to this school before and got in (unfortunately I wasn’t able to afford 3 full years of attending this university though), so I’m hoping I get in again. But there’s still a chance that I won’t. I’m keeping up my grades and all, but nothing is ever 100%. I’m scared that if I sign the lease now, and don’t get in… my only option is to find a replacement which might be hard by January since so many people will have signed leases already… or I have to pay a few hundred dollars for a year straight for a school im not even attending.

Idk what to tell these potential roommates, do I tell them now to find another roommate by next week?? They have not kept me updated until now and I didn’t find out about the lease needing to be signed next week, until today.

I’m stuck. I’m also scared that if I don’t sign the lease, and actually end up getting in - I’ll have a harder time finding such a cheap place to live.

Do I just gamble and hope I get in a second time? The first time I applied, my highschool grades (which were terrible) along with my college grades were considered, this time it’s only college grades (a lot better). If I don’t get in do I try to find someone else online to live with these people? Idk.

Chain came apart from my roller blinds, is it possible to fix without unbolting the blinds from the wall?

How do I pull the chain back through for my blinds?

The chain just disconnected and it all came out, it’s supposed to look like the second pic. Can’t find these blinds online either to figure out how to fix this. Help?

My cat has completely stopped eating and is losing a lot of weight. He is interested in all food and seems like he wants to eat, but leaves after one taste.

Hi everyone, I have an 11 year old cat. He’s always been healthy and happy, no issues, until the past year or so.

My cats take over the upstairs while my dog takes over the downstairs, they don’t really get along, but it’s never been an issue.

My cat’s food bowls have always been downstairs in a seperate room that my dog can’t get into. This was never an issue for the cats though. They’ve always eaten the same brand of dry food their entire lives and have always been good on drinking water as well.

Around a year ago, we noticed one of our cats stopped eating much. We did some research and switched his food to dry food. He enjoyed it at first but after some time, started eating less of it and would throw it up.

We took them both to the vet, did blood work and all, and everything came back good. The vet suggested that perhaps my cat was feeling stress from having to run past the dog in order to get to its food, so to move the bowls upstairs.

We made this change and it worked immediately and switched back to their dry food. My cat was eating again, and gained back the 2lbs he had lost. For around 9 months, he was doing well. Acting energetic, loving, eating and drinking a lot.

A few weeks ago, the same thing started again but even worse. He just completely refused to eat anything, so we started the wet food again. He liked it at first but lost interest quickly or would throw it up. He refused to touch the dry food, and we were at a loss. I bought him treats, dry and lickable ones. He would eat a lot of it for the first bit then lose interest after a few hours. Each time I offer it now, he doesn’t want it. He lost even more weight so we took him back to the vet.

The vet suggested more blood work, an x ray, and checked his teeth (which were all fine). His x ray didn’t show anything abnormal and his lab work came back good too. She prescribed an ointment to put on his ears once a day to induce an appetite and gave us prescription food that she told us to melt a little with water.

He won’t eat it and the ointment doesn’t seem to be helping. We are trying to give him nutritious broth but he doesn’t really care for it. He’s still drinking his water though and our vet said he seems hydrated.

I’m at a loss. What do I do. He is a fairly big cat but only weighs 8.4 lbs. last time this happened he weight 9.5lbs after losing weight, so it’s worse this time. I’m so confused.

We tried changing the location of his bowls again, and it doesn’t work.

We sit with him and pet him in a secluded area so he can eat peacefully, and he just loses interests after a few licks.

Is there anything else I can do? I’m worried.

Feels like he’s a weirdo but probably coincidence

A family friend of mine owns a big plot of land somewhat near my house, I usually go there to chill on the swing set once a week to get a break for my mind, and sometimes I bring my dog to play.

The yard is big, the swings face the road, and a house across it. I see this guy taking out his dogs, and didn’t think it was weird at first.

I’ve been coming here for around 2 years now though, and he’s always coming out right when I get out of my car.

We are not close to one another to make it seem like I’m staring at him, but I know he sees me.

If I go there on random days, or switch up the times, he’s always out. If I get there and sit in my car for 30 minutes, he doesn’t come out until the moment I exit my car. And it’s like that every single time, super weird

How do I help my friends dog and cats get along after years of not doing so?

My friend doesn’t have a Reddit account and asked for me to post for some advice on here.

My friend used to live in a bigger house, and when her family first brought home the puppy, the cats and the dog didn’t really interact, they always avoided each other. The dog had its own space and so did the cats. Since then, they’ve moved into a smaller home, the dog usually stays downstairs while the cats stay upstairs.

She said that she’s noticed the cats don’t have too much space to walk around upstairs, and usually come down when the dog is out for a walk or something along those lines.

She can tell that they’re bored and depressed upstairs, and wants the dog and the cats to start interacting but it’s a big issue.

The dog is a German Shepard, it’s big and doesn’t know its own size. The dog usually chases or jumps on the cats and scares them/stresses them out.

She doesn’t know how to fix this issue, any advice? I know it’s usually easier to start this process from when the dog was younger but she failed to do so.

Any advice?
