No option for refill?

Hey all, I’m approaching my second month with PreventiveMD and noticed there’s no request refill option. I emailed support and they told me they’d email me a form 5 days before my renewal, but that’s come and gone now and I still haven’t received the form. Any ideas? I want a dose increase, so I’m not wanting it to just auto renew

Considering switching to preventive MD

Hi everyone! I’m currently with Embody and it’s a nightmare, so I’m looking to switch and preventive MD has been recommended quite a few times. Just a few questions..

  1. Do they honor current dosing? I don’t want to go back down to a starter dose like I had to when I switched from Gimme Care to Embody

  2. How do they handle requesting dose increases? Is it automatically built into your plan, or do you have to ask?

  3. Do you have access to the clinical team for questions?

  4. What has shipping been like? I only see the option for Beaudroux’s, which Gimme care used and they were VERY backed up then, my meds were always late. This is my biggest hang up currently.

Embody Review — A negative experience

I strongly recommend avoiding Embody, especially if you are transferring from another GLP-1 provider and already have an established dose

I switched to Embody from another company because of their advertised lower costs and lack of a membership fee. During sign-up, Embody specifically requested documentation of my existing prescription so that they could continue my current dosing. I provided it.

Despite that, my first prescription from Embody was for 2.125 mg / 11 units, which was more than a 50% decrease from the dose I had already been taking. It was essentially treated like I was starting over at an unusually low dose, despite the fact that they had requested and received my previous prescription information.

I noticed the issue immediately and contacted customer service. I was told that once the provider had written the prescription, there was nothing they could do and that they would not consider an increase request until four weeks had passed. They seemed completely uninterested in the fact that I was not asking for an ordinary dose increase. I was trying to correct a substantial decrease from my already-established dose.

As my refill approached, I contacted customer service multiple times because I wanted to address the problem before I ran out of medication. The responses ranged from no response at all to answers that did not address what I was asking. Eventually, I was told customer service could not process a dosing request and that I would need an appointment with a provider.

They sent me a scheduling link. The earliest appointment available was approximately ONE MONTH away, several weeks after my refill would be due. When I explained that this obviously did not solve the problem, I received no meaningful response.

I tried again the following day with another representative and explained the entire situation. I was simply sent another link to schedule an appointment, as though they had not read anything I had written.

A third representative finally told me the issue would be escalated to the clinical team and that someone would call me that day. At that point, I was relieved because I finally thought someone had understood the problem.
No one called.

My refill form then became available. The form specifically allowed me to request a dosage increase, so I selected that option. A message appeared stating that a provider would review my request within 24 hours.
Three days passed with no review.

I contacted customer service yet again. I was told they could not discuss dosing through chat and that I would receive an email. The email never arrived. When I explained that, I was essentially told, “Just wait for your provider.” I explained that I was about to run out of medication and had already been charged. The response remained: wait for the provider.
Two more days passed.

I contacted customer service AGAIN. Initially, I
was told that my refill was under review by the clinical team and that I would hear back soon. After I pushed back because I was now out of medication despite having already been charged, the representative suddenly gave me completely different information.

He told me that because their system showed me as having an appointment scheduled for the following month, my prescription request was not visible to providers at all. In other words, while I had been repeatedly told to “wait for the provider” and assured my request was being reviewed, according to this representative, no provider could even see it.

I had never wanted or needed an appointment a month later in the first place. I had only scheduled it because their own customer service told me that was the only way to discuss my dosage.

The representative said he would cancel the appointment, which supposedly would make my refill request visible to the providers again.

At that point, I asked to speak directly with someone from the clinical team so I could verify what was happening with my medication. I was told I could not speak to the clinical team without scheduling an appointment.
But I was also told that scheduling an appointment would once again prevent the providers from seeing or processing my medication request.
Make that make sense.

I have used three different GLP-1 telehealth companies, and I have never experienced anything remotely like this. With other companies, I have had access to timely provider appointments, clinical messaging, and an actual avenue for discussing medication concerns.

With Embody, my experience has left me seriously questioning how accessible or involved their clinical team actually is. I obviously cannot know how their clinicians are staffed internally, but from a patient perspective, there appears to be an enormous wall between customers and anyone capable of making a medical decision. Customer service repeatedly gives contradictory information, promises escalations or callbacks that never happen, and appears unable to communicate effectively with the clinical side of the company.
That is especially concerning for a company prescribing medication.

Their customer service has also been some of the worst I have encountered. Many responses seem disconnected from the conversation, as though the representative has not read the previous messages at all. Whether this is poorly implemented AI, outsourced support, inadequate training, or something else, I cannot say. What I can say is that getting a straightforward answer has been nearly impossible. When I challenge contradictory information, conversations frequently go nowhere.

There are other issues I wish I had known before signing up as well. For example, Embody’s maximum tirzepatide dose is reportedly 11 mg, which is below the FDA-approved maximum weekly dose of 15 mg. That is extremely important information for patients transferring from another provider or already taking higher doses, and it should be made very clear before someone pays for treatment.

After experiencing all of this, I looked into other customer experiences and found numerous reports describing very similar problems, particularly from people transferring from another GLP-1 provider.
The lower advertised price is not worth it if you cannot reliably communicate with a clinician or get your medication managed appropriately.

I would not recommend Embody. If you are already established on a GLP-1 medication, especially at anything beyond a starter dose, I would strongly suggest using a company that provides direct, timely access to its medical team and clearly discloses its dosing limitations before taking your money.

TLDR: shitty company who takes your money, prescribes weird doses, and ignores you.

Are there any good companies out there with fair pricing?

I’ve had terrible experiences with two companies already and I’m almost ready to throw in the towel. :( I started with Gimme Care, but they were terrible as far as shipping times and medication arriving warm go. Their dosing instructions also didn’t seem to make much sense compared to what I was seeing online (I spent two months at the lowest possible starting dose). I’d do finally gotten increased, but after another delayed and warm shipment, I ended up deciding to switch to Embody. They were more affordable and I thought they were worth a try.

They have been a nightmare. They requested my prescription so they could maintain my dosing, but even after I provided it, they started me at 2.125mg. I’ve been arguing with them about that for well over a month at this point and they’ve been no help. Initially they told me there was nothing they could do because they aren’t the clinical team and the order had already been sent to the pharmacy. As my refill approached, I started reaching out more about a dose increase because I was losing no weight at all (shocking I know since my dose was cut in half). They’d respond to tell me they’d pass along my concerns to the clinical team and I’d hear back. Never would. Finally, they scheduled me an appointment— 2 weeks after my refill would be due.

I fought back and forth with customer service endlessly, never actually hearing from a clinical staff member. I filled out my refill form and indicated I’d like an increase and why. The site said I’d hear back within 24 hours, that was 5 days ago and nothings happened with my refill. Customer service won’t even answer me at this point.

So, are there any actually decent companies out there that provide affordable and effective medications, while having good customer service and access to the clinical team directly?

MS Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Hi everyone, I’m interested in the mental health counseling program and was hoping someone could answer a few questions I have!

  1. How long does the program take? I have seen varying information.
  2. Are the courses asynchronous or synchronous?
  3. How many courses can you take at one time? I’m a SAHM, so I have quite a bit of time on my hands.
  4. What did you think of the program?

Be cautious of Gimme Care

Hi everyone,

I want to share my experience with Gimme Care to hopefully save someone the headache I’ve gone through (if they’ve worked for you, good! But people should also hear about the bad). I’m not wealthy by any means, so for me it is a luxury, but life changing, purchase to have Tirzepatide. I decided to try Gimme Care after seeing tons of ads online for them. I signed up and the process to get approved was very easy— no appointment required (which likely should’ve been the first red flag).

I was told that the next step was for the medication to be sent to the pharmacy and I’d receive it in 3-5 business days. 3 weeks went by of it just sitting at the pharmacy, to the point where I was getting charged for my next shipment before even receiving my first. Customer service was no help either. Eventually, one member of customer service told me my medication was with Beudreoux pharmacy which they stated “has significant shipping delays.” So they’re aware, but still use them.

I finally got the medication. It arrived in a bubble mailer which seemed odd as when I had Mochi Health my medication came in a big box with a styrofoam cooler and tons of ice packs. Inside the mailer was 1 ice pack that was HOT. My medication was warm. Never could reach anyone at Beaudroux to confirm safety of the medication.

I also realized at this point I was prescribed a much smaller dose than was recommended by any other company and was not given a titration plan. I lost 0 weight. I inquired why and was told “that’s just what you were approved for.” Next shipment ends up sitting at pharmacy for a long time again and I miss a dose. At this point, I cancelled Gimme Care. I’ve now been fighting to receive the medication I paid for and can’t reach anyone. They even banned me from their Reddit thread for sharing my concerns and experience, so they hide the negatives.

Stuck at the pharmacy

I was approved for my medication on July 11th. It was marked “sent to pharmacy” a few days later and it’s now July 20th and it’s still sitting at the pharmacy. I’ve reached out to the customer service team several times but only got a response once on the 15th and reiterated it was at the pharmacy and then they closed the thread as resolved.

Does anyone have experience dealing with this and if so, how did you resolve it? Considering just doing a chargeback on my card and holding off on meds for now..

No refunds?

I used Mochi for about 3 months last year and had very minimal issues with the service. Customer service was never the best and my providers changed often, but I always got my medication. Anyways, I ended up becoming pregnant and stopped the medication. I had my baby and decided to return to Mochi 6 weeks postpartum.

My account still existed, but I couldn’t access any features without renewing my subscription. I tried to do some research prior to regarding postpartum, but didn’t find anything so I renewed the 6 month subscription ($354). I messaged my newly assigned provider to explain why I’d returned and give details about my current condition. She thanked me and left it at that. 1 minute into our appointment, she tells me she can’t prescribe the medication because I’m less than 6 months postpartum and it’s not safe. She said she’d document this so no other providers would prescribe either and encouraged me to return later on if I’d like. I was upset and didn’t think it sounded accurate, but who am I to argue with a provider about health?

I said I understood, but would like my nearly $400 back. She told me that wouldn’t be a problem and she’d let the team know. I waited a few days and didn’t hear anything else, so I reached out to customer service myself. They replied that they needed the “full story” from the provider herself before making a determination. I waited another week and never heard a peep. Requested to have the refund again, explaining they should clearly be able to see that I didn’t get prescribed anything and therefore can’t use the service I’m paying for. They never responded and kept my $354.

So anyways, just beware with this service that there is no guarantee they’ll prescribe and if they don’t, they will keep your money. Play it safe and don’t subscribe for more than 1 month at a time initially.

Hi everyone.

I’m a second time mom, but this is my first time with gestational diabetes. I’ve done a fair bit of reading, and learned it’s very common to get a growth scan at some point to check size of baby since that’s a concern with GD. Even in my healthy pregnancy, I had an ultrasound in the third trimester. My doctors office said there’s no need because “they’ll know the size of the baby when she comes out.” This feels a bit odd to me, but has anyone else encountered it?
