Gas relief for newborn advice. Simethicone? Gripe water?

I have a 2 week old who is dealing with gassiness. We are doing all the exercises to help her burp and fart and though they work she is still in pain trying to pass gas/poop. Any recommendations on clean simethicone brands? Every one I see online has sugar, flavors, and gums in it. Or has anyone had luck with gripe water?

Any other recommendations for what I could incorporate into my diet to help ease her tummy (she is breastfed).

TIA!

Find Guinness Milk Stout

Does anyone know where I could find Guinness Milk Stout? I had it once in the Norwalk area 9 years ago, and haven’t seen it anywhere again.

Editing to add its rebranded version is called Over the Moon Milk Stout, in case anyone has seen it

Need advice on healing nipples with the goal of successful deep latch breastfeeding

TLDR: my nipples are raw and it hurts to breast feed 5 days PP. Should I rest my nipples and just pump? Any advice on speedily healing my breasts and promoting a deeper latch?

Sorry this post is kinda long!!!

I’m 5 days PP and my milk supply came in about 2 days ago. I latched baby pretty quickly but we’ve been struggling because she has a shallow latch. She will not open her mouth wide enough and I’m struggling to compress and insert my rather large (and now engorged) breasts. I’m working with a LC. Baby has the slightest lip tie that she believes can benefit from some massaging so we’re doing that. I feel like the LC can help me get a better latch but then I just can’t do it myself when I’m alone.

Both my nipples are raw so breast feeding is really painful right now. I fed all day today and then started pumping and have bottle fed the last 2 feeds.

I would appreciate any advice on what to do from here. Should I rest my nipples and just pump the rest of the night and tomorrow so my nipples heal? Should I still aim to breast feed each side a little and pump? We are in a cluster feed phase right now and baby wants to feed every hour to 1.5 hour so I’m stressed about how to navigate this and feel like a failure for not being able to just pop her on a boob (I know it’s early and this will take practice, I’m just sad about it).

Also need any advice on quickly healing the nipples. I have nipple butters and silverettes. I’m ordering medical grade honey based on other posts I’ve seen on this sub.

Thank you in advance for any guidance!

Babybay customer service help

I ordered a babybay bassinet for baby. Admittedly I’ve had it for a month and just opened it this weekend because we moved into our new house 2 weeks ago and I didn’t want to open anything until we were settled. I’m due for my c-section 8/3 so I planned to build the bassinet this past weekend.

Well they sent me the wrong parts (instead of a left and right piece, they sent 2 rights). They have no actual customer service phone line and only have an email.

Has anyone dealt with their customer service before? I haven’t gotten any response to my email asking them to send me the correct the part 😭

Scheduled c-section, tips to support breastfeeding?

Baby girl is breech and I’m 39 weeks tomorrow so it’s unlikely she’ll flip. My CS is scheduled for 8/3 so I have a week. Would love any tips on how others supported/promoted their breast feeding journey after a CS since CS can delay milk supply coming in.

Edit: thank you to everyone who responded! A lot of these comments have provided me the much need reassurance I needed that my milk may come in as expected!

Questions about gentle c-section experiences

Looks like I will have to a schedule a c-section because baby girl is still frank breech at 37 weeks. I was planning on an unmedicated vaginal birth and now have to mentally shift to prepare for my new reality. For anyone who has had a regular or gentle c-section, I’d love to hear if you were able to have the following/whether the logistics of any of this is even possible:

  1. Optimal delayed cord clamping (waiting till cord is white and no longer pulsating). Are they able to do this? Or they want to stitch you up asap?

  2. I assume they remove baby and then remove the placenta. Can you have baby on your chest/torso while they remove the placenta? This would allow for the optimal delayed cord clamping.

  3. Immediate skin to skin, declining all assessments until after golden hour

Any other advice you may have is welcome 🤍

Baby breech at 37 weeks, looking for all advice on planned C-Section

Well baby girl is still breech 😩 my midwife says there’s enough fluid for her to potentially still flip and we will recheck next week. I’ve scheduled a chiropractor appointment and will be doing moxibustion every day. That being said, in the likelihood that she stays breech, I will have to have a planned c-section. I’m pretty devastated and trying to get mentally prepared.

Looking for all the advice/tips from the crunchy community on products and practices I should be aware of with a planned c-section. The hospital I’ll deliver at likely won’t be keen on vaginal seeding, so any tips on which probiotics I should get to help baby’s gut floral via breast feeding. Any herbal remedies to help recovery? Any info you can share is welcome. Thank you in advance 🤍

Edit: in my state accredited midwifery birth centers (which is where I am getting care) are not legally permitted to perform breech vaginal delivery and the affiliated hospital I was planning to give birth at does not permit them. I would have to opt for home birth or travel to another state to have a vaginal delivery.

Torn between Lalo and Shnuggle bathtub. Any advice?

Our house is being renovated and we don’t have a bathtub right now (and won’t for the foreseeable future). I had originally wanted the Angelcare tub but with only a shower I need to pivot to an actual tub. I’m torn between the Lalo and Shnuggle. Any insight/suggestions?!

When to deep clean house if we’ve already moved in and renovations are underway?

We just moved into our new home. Renovations are ongoing and we’re currently living in a part that isn’t being constructed on (only top floor, first floor just needs to be painted). We haven’t unpacked all our stuff yet. I’m wondering should I get a deep clean done after unpacking, but before renovations are complete, or just wait until all the renovations are done? Or maybe I’ll get the first floor deep cleaned after we paint. I would’ve liked to get it deep cleaned before moving in but with the wallpaper removal and paint still needing to be done it didn’t make sense. Thoughts?

Remedies for heartburn during pregnancy?

Hi moms! I’m in my third trimester and dealing with some serious heartburn ugh. I’ve taken tums (not every day due to kidney stone risk), and they help to only a certain degree. Any natural home remedies? Has anyone taken Gaviscon? Is that safe during pregnancy? Any advice is appreciated!

Behr samples to save money but planning on using Sherwin?

Thoughts on using Behr samples, which are half the price of SW samples, so we can test more paint colors? Ultimately we have SW colors we like but we want to see how 1-3 different colors will look in a room.

Update: after all the feedback, I just bought SW samples! Thank you for all the advice!

Anyone know what’s going on in East Rock right now? Loud music, screaming, and voices on a megaphone from somewhere near Canner. College party? An event?
