Pointers?

Hey all. I applied for a few positions at The Hartford. I just recently graduated in May with my B.A in History. Some may say it’s a silly degree, but I learned a lot of analytical, research, writing, and helpful skills I want to put to work. With that, I also serve in the U.S. Army National Guard. I’m eager to learn and after a few weeks, I’ve heard nothing back on any of my applications. I’m ready to start a long-term career and I regret not doing any internships with The Hartford- but I had a lot of training events with the guard I had to fulfill and also had to work to be in college so I was busy to say the least. Any recommendations, tips, or corrective criticisms accepted. I really would love to land a career there as I said- I am eager to learn and want to take the skills I do have to pursue a long successful career with The Hartford if it’s a possibility.

Northwestern Mutual.

Hey all. I have a second interview with NWM Monday. I’m trying to get the good, the bad, and what’s in between. The company seems to have great benefits and learning opportunities so I am excited. But- as for the portion on having a circle for leads, I don’t have that. I don’t have a family who even lives near me who would want to buy insurance or anything. I don’t have friends who are even close to being able to afford it. What should I do? Should I even continue pursuing this? Is the first year 6-figure salary real? Or is it all if I can even make the sales and earn the commission?

Grocery help if able

Just trying to get help with groceries. I’m in the national guard and lost my full time job about a month ago. I do have 2 interviews this week and my chain of command is trying to help with job search but in the meantime, I had to pay rent and I have $0.57 to my name. Just looking for like $60. I can pay it back next week when I get my drill check but this is my first time trying this so if anyone can help, I’d do my best to pay it back or pay it forward when I’m stable .

desperate, honestly

Posted earlier this week about me losing my job. Recently my car was repossessed and I’m about $352 short of getting it back next week. Not sure if this is even allowed but I need my car because I’ve resulted to door dashing until I can make ends meet. If anyone would like to help pm me I guess. If I get cooked or in trouble, it is what it is. My family can’t help- we don’t have the best relationship and they have financial issues themselves but I’m trying to pay it Monday to have my car back and DoorDash next week before rents due August 1st. Also, I do have a job interview next Thursday so..needless to say I’m trying. Shit just sucks.

Promoted to customer.

Welp. Gone after 7.5 months. Pay is shit for the hours/work. Not to mention the taxes they take out. Laid off due to them overhiring apparently. I was a 190+ stop driver constantly. Best of luck with the newbies they hired. Seemingly I had to rescue them every night.

Lost my civilian job

Hey all. I recently was let go from my job. This wasn’t a result of anything I had done, they just laid off a few of us due to funding cuts. Is there anyway I could get put on some temporary orders just to get by for a month or so? How does this work? Finding a job right now is pretty hard I’ve been making calls and filling out applications all week.

Smaller route?

Been at this shit over 6 months now. I’ve had 180-205 stops pretty much since my 3rd month. Occasional 175 stops. The other day I had 135 during peak heat wave on the east coast. Our dsp said it’s because Amazon cut us short due to the heat. Anyone else have this happen? Not complaining though just curious

Orders?

Hey all. Love the guard for the most part and working in ammo is fairly a fun time. I’m working on transferring states (IST) due to relocating for a job. I’m an E4 and I’m running into some bullshit on the civilian side. My job informed me my start date wouldn’t be until August and now I’m stuck working a job I had while in college that hardly pays the bills. I’m thinking of talking to a recruiter here in this state since my unit is so far away about some ADOS orders or something to fill this gap and get me on my feet? The cost of living is high and I’m struggling and other places are not hiring so much in the area even tho it’s summer. Is this possible? To find some orders even if it’s helping out a recruiter or something for a few weeks/months until I start my new job? Thanks for the help.

How…the hell..

Sup fellow drivers. Just out of curiosity..how does anyone make this a long term thing? I feel like the score cards and shit is so ridiculous lol. I get it, follow customer notes…do your best to make them happy, follow safety…yeah I get it. And I do it to the best of my ability. But let’s be real, we all know a lot of customers are cunts. The whole front door thing, yeah I don’t mind walking to your front door across your mile long driveway as opposed to the garage or whatnot. But it seems the area I’m in the customers always find a reason to complain and then myself and other drivers hear about it at the morning meetings. I saw some of the complaints I got, and it’s just ridiculous. Silly even. Glad this was a temporary thing for me, I’ll be outta there soon. But it’s just wild
