Silksong’s combat is far more dynamic and interesting than Hollow Knight. It’s far more rewarding in Silksong to kill anything than it is in Hollow Knight. As the Knight you feel like a tank. It can walk up to almost anything and just spam it to death. I do love this because the fighting style fits with the lore.

Hornet’s style also fits with her lore but her play style is far more interesting. The Knight tries to kill as quickly as possible and will trade damage occasionally. Hornet on the other hand evades as her primary offense.

I find it far more interesting to evade and strike when able than to just beat an enemy to death. Not to say the Knights combat is bad. I just think compared to Hornet’s, it pales in comparison

Every time you go to the kingdom’s edge in Act III, Hornet can’t leave until she cuts Pharloom free. Team Cherry also said that’s it’s going to be a large new area to explore. I think this is the start of Hornet’s journey back home. We might see Hornet return to Hallownest

I want to play as the original Hollow Knight and see Hallownest in it’s hay day. It could be set as the infection takes over and Act 3 could be “No Cost Too Great” with all of Hallownest consumed

Smash attack would be your nail. Neutral special is Vengeful Spirt, side is dash, up is Howling Wraiths, down is descending dive. Jump is Monarch Wings, tilt is quick attacks and fully charged smash attacks do nail arts. I think his combat would fit perfectly in smash and they usually try to keep characters’ kits as close to the source material as possible. The nail arts are a stretch tho
