Where are the plus size girlies shopping in-person?

Hiya hotties, looking for recommendations on where the plus size LA girlies go clothes shopping these days.

My bestie is between a size 1x-2x and we love going out together to fleas/thrift stores, malls etc but I feel like everywhere I like to go in LA for my standard sizing only has her size online. She’s feeling sick of Torrid and too young for the plus size sections of something like a Macys.

Any hidden gems or fun spots to hit up? I’m not picky on location — though valley, westside or melrose area are preferred!

Pump signage coming down from the Tom Tom building this afternoon 👀 (@weho_times)

The building is currently listed for sale, and Tom Tom is continuing to operate at normal hours. Weho Times talked to workers who were told to just take down the Pump signage and leave Tom Tom. Video is from their Instagram.

Lisa doesn’t want her name on that biz anymore 👋

Anyone else getting bombarded by sneaky ads for the Fig app?

I’m so sick and tired of scrolling on TikTok or Instagram and getting sucked into watching a video of someone saying “new gluten-free items at Trader Joe’s!” or “here’s what you can get gluten-free from the shake shack seasonal menu!” .. and it’s kind of a half-hearted delivery where 3 items in they say: “not labeled GF but I scanned this in the Fig app!!”

If anyone from the Fig team is reading this: you are annoying the living hell out of me, someone with celiac who is probably your perfect target audience. Your ads are flooding all of my actually useful channels for discovering new foods. I know you have a job to do, but your product is not useful to me, and now I have to work to block your sponsored hashtags on all of my socials. Cut it out with the half-assed sponsored organic posts, or give us actually useful information on products without plugging your app 5 seconds in.

Review: Small C@ssandre Envelope from Black Frame

Hello from an old subreddit old lady 👵 finally making my way back here after achieving purse peace back in 2023. I previously bought miss Cassandre in the large size from TS Morgan during that time. I am a colossal dumbass and I got caught in a rainstorm while wearing her out recently, and leaving her wet for too long ruined the puffy ridges of the flap. RIP miss gurl, 4 years was a good run after daily wear on a mid-tier rep.

So back to Reddit I went, this time in search of a recently reviewed TS who worked with a lot of Black Frame orders. Doris came up repeatedly as a great fit, so I got a quote from her.

Timeline:

6/27 - Texted Doris, inquired and paid. Cost: $188+34=$222 USD, paid via PP F&F.

7/7 - Doris sent over PSPs of another wallet that wasn’t mine. I let her know, and she told me the factory mixed up my order with someone else’s. No prob, she apologized and told me my PSPs were still on the way.

7/12 - Received my PSPs! GL’d right away, they had Doris’ usual yellowy lighting but I knew that going into ordering w her and everything else looked great.

7/14 - Received FedEx tracking number

7/20 - Package starts moving within the US

7/28 - Received!

Really happy with this bag as my new fall/winter daily carry. The leather is super buttery and the stitching is nice and clean. Chain is heavy. The leather on the strap needs relaxing after shipping as it’s a bit bent, but that’s to be expected. Bag fits my cardholder and iPhone 17, plus a lip balm and a small car keychain if I squeeze it in. No packaging included.

I definitely prefer the weight and structure of this size over the large cassandre — the large size is a bit heavy on my shoulder after a while, and doesn’t stand up on the table like the small size. Purse peace is back … for now. 🧘‍♀️

Vanderpump Hotel Las Vegas: the good, the bad and the glittery

Just came back from a trip to Vegas and had to explore the Vanderpump Hotel, which was formerly the Cromwell. I’m in Vegas often and I’ve been to all of her bars there a few times, so I was familiar with the Cromwell before it rebranded, and the vibe of her other Vegas ventures.

The good:

- The Cromwell was not the most well-maintained hotel on the strip. It was really only known for Drais and Giadas, and was notorious for having a slightly weird smell. Weird smell no longer. The carpets are your typical Vegas levels of gaudy but very on-brand. The chandeliers are gorgeous and the lighting is much nicer than old Cromwell. The pink poker tables are cute. It feels like a (albeit minor) facelift on a property that desperately needed one.

- We love a theme. The dog theme is very cute. It carries across their digital billboards on the outside (one of her poms trots across the logo) and the giant Giggy statue in the bar is grand.

- The drinks are very beautiful, like most of her bars.

The not so good:

- The bartender seemed new. He poured both of our drinks very light, to where my partner’s pumptini was almost half-full. With the drinks being in the $20-30 range, I was pretty annoyed.

- It was the middle of the day on a holiday weekend, and it was a little too quiet compared to the other casinos we hopped to. I get the feeling the hype has already started to die down.

- Their iconic rooftop pool — no longer Drais, it’s just Lisa’s standard hotel guest pool — closes at 5PM. Holy waste of a space. Drais moved down to their basement space only in the hotel. I would have expected Lisa to use that incredible rooftop space for Lisa-esque daytime events (poolside tea on the roof? hello?) and turn it into one of her lounges at night.

In conclusion:

I think this space has potential. The facelift was needed on a clearly dying hotel property. But the space lacks the same level of polish that her other Vegas ventures have, and I don’t think the Vanderpump name alone is going to keep people coming back to pay $24 for a pumptini. Events, more incentive to visit the space, and top-notch bar service could go a long way.

Favorite spots for remote working (that’s not home or a WeWork)?

My internet has been absolutely horrendous for DAYS (new outage every single day without fail) and I need some recs for places you like to work on a laptop at!

Ideally this place has:

- Super fast WiFi (can support video etc)

- Outlets

- Music/people talking/ambient noise (so that I am not hugely disruptive to patrons if I am on the phone)

Got any favorite spots you can share? I’m in the Woodland Hills area and willing to travel wherever as long as it’s within 20-30mins or so. Thank you!
