Can you sideload APKs thru Immortal? Or do you have to physically connect the Portal to a PC to sideload a APK?
This is for APKs which are not found in F-Droid and Aurora/Google Play
Unfortunately the Portals aren't on Android 11 which is when wireless ADB started. I don't think you can get wireless ADB on Android 9/10.
I'm looking at electronics and I see three different types of listings.
As is, untested, For Parts or Not Working
What is the difference between the three? Some listings are missing the power cord so I understand seller cannot test. I have the power cord.
I have no issues troubleshooting the electronics myself as long as the hardware is still fine. No cracks, no significant damages, nothing broken, nothing rattling, screen is intact, electronic boots up, etc. I cannot repair the hardware for the electronics.
I have no problems plugging in the power cord and doing software testing.
Facebook released a 10” and 8” 2nd gen portal? The 10” has a usb port on a back. The 8” does not and has a power adapter which plugs directly into the portal?
I think I got a 8” off eBay which was advertised as 10”. There’s no usb on the back. I think the 8” usb port is under the speaker grill.
immortal installed, device factory reset, went back to stock settings asking me to setup portal go again, had to choose facebook or whatsapp
Is the app using a shared link, running it in a browser, and using the heartbeat method to keep the screen from locking? Is there some code which allows the photos to be scrollable?
I don't use google photos or icloud so I can't download and test.
I've tried immich kiosk but I can't seem to scroll thru the photos/slideshow.
not sure how hard it would be to self host mantelframe and point to immich so I can scroll thru photos on the portal
Is the calls app supposed to be functional in immortal? clicked on the app and it was stuck in a weird state. seemed to be wanting to call but glitched back and forth with my photos/screensaver.

90% of my past photos are of my dog. I've been taking photos of my dog way before machine learning came about.
I used to delete/sort out pictures which were not of my dog years ago.
Problem is I got lazy and decided to dump all my photos into one folder. 90% of the pictures are of my dog but there are a lot which aren't.
I really don't want to go through 1000+ pictures and manually sort them.
Would Immich be able to sort my past photos and automatically future photos I upload going forward?
Immich seems to be the best going forward even if I have to take time to manually sort out which photos aren't of my dog.
I can see my CPU temp in the menu bar on my 2014 mac mini. I have no idea why it isn't showing up on system-stats. I can't seem to find any documentation at all for system-stats
I run my 2014 mac mini headless and mostly want to monitor the CPU temp (would like fan speed if possible). Due to the age of the mac mini, I had the thermal paste fail and had to redo the thermal paste.
System-stats seemed to be the simplest way to monitor the CPU temp without having to write a script/push powermetrics or any other CLI tools to monitor stats.
I have v2 and v3 which should be supported?
The cameras show in the Home App as switches.
Not sure how live view is supposed to work for cameras.

If I use the direct Tailscale IP on iOS in Safari I experience zero disconnects.
If I use the same ip from Tailscale in companion app I experience disconnects every 30 seconds or so. Sometimes it lasts longer but then will disconnect.
Not sure where to start troubleshooting.
I have an old Mac mini I mainly use headless. There are a few occasions where I have to connect a keyboard.
I mainly have keyboards which seemed to be designed for windows. I had to reinstall macOS on the Mac mini and holding alt on the keyboard didn’t seem to work.
I had to borrow a “Mac” keyboard.
I can’t seem to find any keyboard and trackpad combos mainly designed for the Mac. If I have to I’ll purchase a “Mac” keyboard and use an old mouse.
Wondering if there are any Mac keyboard trackpad combos before I purchase a Mac keyboard.
Can the blind tilt rotate 360 degrees multiple times?
I'm thinking of using it with the wand for my Coolaroo shades. If the tilt can rotate 360 degrees multiple times it might work for raising and lowering my shade.
I tried proxmox with sonoma on a n100 16gb mini pc. Was a pain to install, still tinkering as I can't get it working 100%. Was able to send a message to one contact but not another, couldn't get group chats to work.
I'm thinking of picking up a macmini7,1 2.6ghz dual core 8gb memory and a 1tb HDD for $50 just for bluebubbles.
I might add a sata? (I saw the video where you can easily add another drive) and run other stuff to tinker with off the macmini later.
I just want to be able to see respond to group chats from Windows and receive 2FA texts.
Worst case, I can always remote into my mac mini and use the imessage app from Windows?
Trying to decide if I should go matter or zigbee. My understanding is matter over wifi is local.
The relay is installed behind light switches in the farthest part of my house. I've put zigbee smart plugs in the same room and adjacent rooms all leading back to my coordinator. Doesn't seem to help as I get the lowest LQI according to Z2M for any zigbee device in that room (the room with the Shelly relay)
