Canadian startup Versos AI wants to license forgotten video archives to hungry AI models

Turn dormant video archives into licensed AI training data

Versos AI, based in Saint John, New Brunswick, has joined NVIDIA Inception.

The company is building a platform that helps media companies and other archive owners index, structure and license large video libraries for AI training.

Its goal is to connect content owners with AI laboratories looking for higher-quality and more clearly licensed datasets.

Versos says it uses C2PA Content Credentials to track provenance and licensing information. However, C2PA is not a copyright registry or DRM system, so contractual rights verification will still be essential.

NVIDIA Inception provides technical resources, training, selected discounts and access to startup and investor networks.

The announcement does not include an NVIDIA investment, a commercial partnership, named customers or performance benchmarks.
