I've just started running.

It was my second run and I ran 3KMs today. I'm honestly impressed by myself 😄 I did 1KM and then rest for almost a minute, 2nd KM and then rest again. In 3rd KM I walked 100 meters twice in between.

I plan to slowly move to 5KM insha'ALLAH. What do I need to be careful of?

My 3 Months long Hunt comes to an end finally

I wanted to share my job search journey from the last 3 months.

There weren't many job openings to begin with, and I only applied to the ones that looked genuine. Even then, most of my applications went into a black hole. Around 70-80% of employers never responded at all.

I got a few screening calls and first interviews, but many of those companies disappeared afterwards without any feedback. Just silence.

Out of all my applications, only two companies actually took the process seriously and moved forward.

The first company stretched the hiring process for almost a month. After multiple rounds, they made an offer that was roughly half of what I was earning at my previous job. What surprised me even more was that they tried to justify it by saying it was a "very reasonable amount considering the market conditions."

The second company was the complete opposite. They wrapped up the interview process within a week, communicated clearly, and presented a reasonable offer. I accepted that offer. Today is my first day with my new employer. Please wish me luck.

And to everyone who is currently struggling with layoffs, unemployment, rejections, ghosting, or a difficult job market: don't lose hope and don't start doubting yourself.

Allah will make it easier for you. ❤️

Pre Marital screening tests

Assalam-o-Alaikum everyone,

My fiancée and I have decided that we'd like to get pre-marital medical tests done before our marriage. We initially planned to go together, but due to work schedules and other commitments, that doesn't seem possible at the moment.

I was hoping to get some guidance from people who have gone through this process:

- Which labs or hospitals in Lahore would you recommend for pre-marital screening, and which tests are considered essential?

- We're particularly interested in tests related to genetic conditions, blood compatibility, inherited blood disorders (such as thalassemia), and infectious diseases. Which of these are generally recommended before marriage?

- If getting the tests done before the wedding becomes difficult, would it still make sense to get them done after marriage but before becoming physically intimate with each other?

We're trying to make an informed and responsible decision and would like to do whatever is medically sensible and practical. Any advice, personal experiences, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Truck Adda Hotels

My hometown is a city in South Punjab where GT Road passes through. If you've traveled on GT Road, you've probably seen those truck stop hotels every few kilometers where truck drivers stop for food and a bit of rest.

There's one about 11 km from my home and for some reason I just keep going back there. I really like their food.

The last two times I went, I took some pictures as well. One thing I love about these places is that you don't just get what you order. They usually bring small portions of whatever else they've cooked that day, so your table ends up looking much fuller than you expected.

The first time I ordered chicken qorma and anda maghaz. The second time I ordered namkeen chicken and anda maghaz. Both times they also brought a few other dishes (Daal Maash, Sabzi etc) on the side.

And then there's the tea. After a good meal, a cup of tea there just hits differently.

The best part is the price. Me and a friend eat until we're completely full and the total bill is still under 1000 PKR.

Maybe it's the food, maybe it's the simple atmosphere, or maybe it's just the feeling of sitting at a roadside truck stop and having a proper meal.

Anyone else here who likes stopping at these truck hotels?

What's been your experience?

Rolls Royce Replica

I came across this Replica Rolls Royce a few days ago. It was parked outside a workshop and some maintenance work was being done. Honestly I appreciate the efforts put into this project.

I came across this Perfume Vending Machine at the Mall of Multan today. 10ml packs for 500 each, what a wonderful idea it is. I haven't seen any such thing before.
