Black dudes & studs how has your life experience impacted your relationship to the music, if at all?

I am primarily wondering about American black men and butch/masc/stud identifying lesbians, but everyone please feel free to join the conversation, but if you could (and wouldn’t mind) will you add where you are from in your comment if you are not from the USA?

No one younger than 33 has ever experienced any American president that served in their lifetime dying.

Clinton, George W. Bush, Obama, Trump, and Biden are all still alive, despite all of them (other than Obama) having lived past the average age of death for American men (76.5 years).

Ten million to stay in a (nearly) empty room with one of eight difficult people. Who’s your pick?

A very wealthy woman offers you ten million dollars to stay in a 200 square foot room with one other individual for one year. The room is empty other than a toilet, one twin sized bed (one pillow and one blanket included), a sink, a clock, and there are several cameras in the room that, if tampered with in any way, will result in you being kicked out of the experiment with zero compensation. The room is all white and there are no windows. The lights stay on 18 hours a day. You will be brought 3 meals a day by the wealthy woman’s staff, and you will also be brought clean clothes every other day by staff. The only thing you personally have in the room are basic toiletries (which are replaced by staff at dinner time if they run out) and a large water bottle.

You must choose one of the following people to live with:

Joy (age 30): Joy loves to sing. Like, really loves it. And she is an awful singer. At minimum, she will spend 8 hours a day singing. If you talk to her, she will sing her response to you, if she chooses to respond. Other than that quirk, she is normal.

Ricky (age 32): Ricky has killed six people, but you don’t know why. He is also an unfriendly person who will be somewhat rude to you if you talk to him. He will never initiate conversation, but will usually respond if you choose to talk to him.

Patricia (age 40): Patricia has ten kids, and all she does is talk about them. If you’re both awake, she will CONSTANTLY be talking at you about her children, and she doesn’t care at all if you find her obnoxious. You can try to ignore her, but she just won’t stop. If you fall asleep while she’s talking, however, she will not disturb you and never tries to interrupt your sleep in any way.

Ronnie (age 19): Ronnie is friendly and very funny. The only issue is that the one thing that can turn Ronnie unfriendly is if you try to use the bed in any way. Ronnie considers the bed his, and if you sit on or try to sleep on it, he will absolutely berate you for this and may even become violent.

Tyler (age 25): Tyler is a good roommate, friendly, smart, socially adept, and good company in general. The only problem is there is a 25% chance Tyler will mess with the cameras during the year and get you both kicked out without the money.

Cynthia (age 54): Cynthia is a good roommate in every way, except she absolutely refuses to groom herself in any way or change her clothes. When the staff brings new clothes, she refuses them. She doesn’t even brush her teeth. She will smell absolutely revolting by year’s end because she works out for an hour every single day.

Maxwell (age 48): As long as you are absolutely silent for the whole year, Maxwell will be a normal roommate. He won’t bother you and will just keep to himself. However, if Maxwell hears your voice at any point, even if you so much as say “thank you” to staff when they bring your meal, he will become absolutely OBSESSED with you. He will lovebomb you, make creepy, sexually charged comments, try to smell you and/or your clothing and toiletries, watch you closely when you use the restroom, etc. There is also an 80% chance, if he hears your voice, that he will attempt to stalk you after the year is done. He will never physically attack you in any way though, including after the year is over.

Kenzie (age 29): Kenzie is a psychopath. This is the only thing other than her age you know about her.

If you are harmed in any way and/or get sick or injured, you will receive no medical care. If you die in the room, your loved ones will not be notified nor will they ever be able to find out exactly what happened. The wealthy woman is very well connected, and your death will be entirely covered up.

Once you agree to be in the room, you will not be let out until 365 days exactly have passed, no matter what happens.

You have absolutely no idea what will be done with the recorded video of your stay.

Do you take the deal at all? If so, who do you pick to spend the time with?

Do you HATE any of the South Park songs?

I absolutely love the newest Christmas song, “A Christian Woman Knows Her Place”, and it gets stuck in my head all the time. Today it got stuck in my head again, and it got me thinking: are there any South Park songs you absolutely hate?

What ridiculous things have you stumbled across that could be an LDR song and/or album title (if she decided to be completely unserious)?

I saw this headline and had to laugh because, for better or for worse, it did make me think of lanita. What random, funny things have you found that could be an LDR song and/or album title if she suddenly decided to be 100% unserious?

Does anyone know if Lana is now legally using the surname Dufrene?

Hi all,

I am in the process of applying for my PHD in philosophy, and I am writing an essay regarding LDR. I want to be sure to use Lizzy’s correct name when it needs to be used. Does anyone know/have any idea if her name should be written Elizabeth Grant or Elizabeth Dufrene? I couldn’t find the answer in my Google searches. Any help you can provide is useful. Unfortunately, I can’t simply refer to her as Lana Del Rey throughout as there are instances in which I need to distinguish between the persona of Lana and the person Lizzy. Thank you!

Which part of any LDR song has you feeling like this? And I will rate your answer.

Tell me the hottest part of any of Lana’s songs, and I will give you my thoughts on your answer from 1-10.

Is there a vote in survivor history that you think was impacted simply by seating arrangement at tribal council?

Has there been a vote that you feel was significantly impacted by where exactly the players were sitting at tribal? I haven’t seen all the seasons (I stopped watching consistently after One World), so I apologize if there’s an obvious answer to this question.

Question about Beth/Space Beth

If Beth and Space Beth are truly the same person, i.e one of them is a clone of the other, does that mean that both of them wish that they were in space or, the alternative, both of them wish they were home with the family? I am having a hard time understanding why one of them would wish to be in space whilst the other would wish to stay at home if they are literally the exact same person. Does anyone have a definitive answer or even a theory about this? Thanks!

When Final Destination 5 came out, Trump was still hosting Celebrity Apprentice (they were between S4 & S5) - by the time Final Destination 6 came out, Trump had already become President of the United States for the second time.

This is especially crazy when one keeps in mind that Trump was the second president ever to serve two non-consecutive terms, meaning there 4 years between when Trump left office in 2021 and when he started his second term in 2025.

The last few minutes of the film make everything the main character survived worth zilch

Hint 1: Main character is female

Hint 2: Money is important to the plot

Hint 3: One of the actresses was pretty well known and well recognized by lots of people, but not so much for feature films.

What’s a random line that you think makes Lana’s voice sound prettiest?

I love the way she sounds when she says, “I check it. I wreck it. I turn it around,” in Dealer, and also “I don’t want to be bad, I won’t cheat you no more,” in Bel Air.

What are some random lines you’re obsessed with because of how she sounds?

Help! Trying to find the origin of my weird and specific fear.

Hi all!

I have the most random fear, and I swear it came from a show or movie I saw when I was little (I was born in 1997).

It showed a man who was behind the hotel counter or something like that in a very small town where there are basically no people and then all of a sudden, too quickly for him to be able to get there, he is also behind the counter of another place the main character visits.

Does anyone have an idea what I am referring to? It’s probably a show or movie that is kid friendly because I saw it when I was little, but it could be anything since my parents did the censor me as a kid and let me watch whatever.

Thank you!

What’s a lyric that is unintentionally funny and makes you laugh?

Her asking if it’s okay to post a picture of Jeremy’s “sugarcane” in White Feather Hawk Tail makes me snort laugh everytime I hear it. I do think she was being a little funny, but the way she says it is so weird and ridiculous that I can’t help but think she’s being somewhat sincere.

What lyric makes you chuckle, whether you think she was trying to be funny or not?

I drove into a small town I had never heard of with a sign that said “Tedtown: population 1”

The innkeeper was a little creepy, but I left him behind after check in to go to the general store where an identical man was behind the counter, and since it was too quick for it to be the same man, I asked him what it was like being a twin, and he grinned and said, “you must be mistaken, ma’am for I’m an only child and nobody else lives in town.”
