Coal creek - Forest Drive SE road has new signs up for speed photo enforcement. Are these flock cameras?

Just drove down the forest drive hill towards coal creek road and noticed new signs for photo enforcement!

Then I saw 2 grey rectangular box things which I’m guessing are the cameras

Just thought that was interesting as these appear newly installed

Anyone’s cat have surgery for congenital diaphragmatic hernia? If so, who was your surgeon?

I have taken in an outdoor stray cat, and found out he has CDH last September.

Vet said to get him surgery asap, but it’s been about a year and he has seemed fine despite breathing a bit faster than normal.

But it’s in the back of my mind, I am just nervous and scared because this is a huge deal.

I’d be grateful to hear of any one locally who has gone through the surgery for their cat successfully and any insight or advice.

Thanks in advance

Cat with congenital diaphragmatic hernia stable for a year without surgery - anyone have long-term experience?

About a year ago, I brought in a stray cat and he was diagnosed with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia after going under anesthesia for his neuter.

They noticed he was breathing faster than expected, took chest X-rays, and found that he has very limited lung space because abdominal organs have herniated into his chest. They recommended surgery fairly urgently.

The problem is...it's now been about a year, and he has remained almost exactly the same.
He's affectionate, playful, enjoys eating, and generally acts like a happy cat.

He occasionally has very brief gagging episodes (usually less than a minute), but they seem to have become less frequent over time. About six months ago I saw him open-mouth breathe once, but it hasn't happened again since.

I'm struggling with what the right decision is.
If surgery is truly the best option, I will do what I can to try and make it happen. What I'm afraid of is putting him through anesthesia and surgery if he's currently living a happy, comfortable life.

I've read stories of cats doing well after surgery, but also stories where they didn't survive. I feel stuck between risking surgery now versus risking complications later.

I've also heard that CT scans usually require anesthesia, which worries me since he already has limited lung capacity.

My questions are:

Has anyone had a cat with a congenital
diaphragmatic hernia that remained stable for many years without surgery?

Are there veterinarians here who would still recommend surgery after a year of stability?

Is a resting respiratory rate of around 35 concerning if it has remained unchanged for a year?

How do you determine whether a cat is truly comfortable versus simply compensating?

I'm just trying to better understand what others have experienced while I decide what the next step should be.

Thank you in advance for any advice

Has anyone dealt with Netvision or Comcast digging on their property?

I received the attached notice from Netvision about installing underground cable in the public right-of-way adjacent to my property. However, the notice also says that work may be performed on private property and that the homeowner is responsible for notifying them about private water, sewer, drainage, sprinkler, septic and electrical lines.

The letter doesn’t show the proposed route, where they plan to dig or bore, whether any work will actually be on my private property, or what easement gives them access.

We also don’t know the verified locations of all the older private lines on the property.

Has anyone nearby received one of these notices or dealt with this contractor?

Thanks in advance

Is this too much sunlight for my grape propagation?

It’s under an outdoor roof that has plastic skylights. I just put these in the dirt but worried about sunshine

122,000 miles and have not done a transmission drain and fill yet

Hi all,

I have a Honda CRV 2003 with 122,000 miles on it. I have been keeping up with engine oil changes, but I have not done a transmission drain and fill yet.

For those of you who have kept your CRVs running for a long time, is this something you would do right away at this mileage?

I am not looking to do a flush, just wondering about a regular drain and fill.

I would really appreciate hearing from people who have been in a similar situation. Did you do it around this mileage, wait longer, or avoid touching it if the transmission was shifting fine?

The car seems to be driving normally right now. Just trying to be smart about maintenance before it becomes a bigger issue.

Thank you in advance!

What is causing this sound when I turn my wheel left?

It mainly happens when I turn my wheel slightly left and it stops when I turn it back straight or right. It does it when I am driving not braking usually. Hyundai Elantra 2017 2.0 Thanks in advance

Why is this happening to my bombillas?

After soaking in water to clean, it looks to be rusting. I bought these in Buenos Aires as souvenirs!

Can you swim in a pool a few weeks after a Korean digital perm?

Curious if this will damage the perm faster if so.

Thanks in advance

If you have a Korean perm, can you wash your hair daily?

Will washing a Korean perm daily make it fall flat sooner?

My scalp gets greasy fast and I need to wash hair daily but I am concerned it will speed up the flattening of my perm I just got ..

Thanks!

A room full of big black flies buzzing around by the window, and just disappearing?

So this happened decade or so ago, and no one believes us when tell them.

My dad and I went downstairs to a room with a small window in our house and we both saw a mass of big flies that did not look like normal house flies. They were large and sharpe from what I can recall. We both looked at each other and were freaking out like where the heck did these flies come from?!

And after a few minutes I think they just all disappeared? The window was not open. I can’t clearly remember how they disappeared but they didn’t fly into any other room. They were just at first flying around by the window

We tried telling other family members but no one believed us. It was just my dad and I that saw it at the same time.

Anyone else know what this could have been? Or has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks in advance
