Opportunity Bridal - thoughts?

Anyone went to the pop-up in Vaughan this past weekend? I’m curious what your experience was like! What kind of dresses did they have, what was the price range, and was there a good variety of designers/styles?

I’m lowkey looking for an A-line dress, preferably in Mikado, but I’m open to trying other fabrics except tulle. 👀

Also, did anyone notice if they had any Justin Alexander or Casablanca dresses?

How much are you spending on your wedding dress?

So I went to my first official wedding dress consultation today in the GTA, and overall it was a great experience! But is it just me, or did I completely misjudge what a $3k wedding dress budget gets you these days? 😂

I always thought $3k was already kind of a middle-ish budget for a wedding dress. I remember when spending $2k felt like A LOT, so I figured $3k was lowkey accounting for inflation 💀. But at the small shop I went to, $3k was considered more on the lower end of their wedding dress price range.

I know there are definitely beautiful dresses under $3k, but why am I having such a hard time finding one in the GTA that isn’t a sample/off-the-rack dress?! I’ve been browsing different bridal shops and their websites, and something just isn’t clicking.
I specifically want an A-line that isn’t super lacy, and apparently that is MUCH harder to find than I expected without going over $3k 😭. I’ve also looked at Azazie, but unfortunately their wedding dresses just aren’t really my style.

Am I crazy, or is $3k genuinely considered a lower wedding dress budget now? And GTA brides, where are you finding your dresses?! 😭

Btw. I’m worried I’m late into the dress game because my wedding is in late April of next year 😩

Has Anyone tried these?

What are everyone’s thoughts on the flavour and quality of these chicken wings? I was thinking of buying them as part of a party appetizer, but I’m not sure how good they are.
Do you usually add your own sauce/flavouring, like BBQ, buffalo, hot honey, etc.? Or would that make them too salty since the chicken itself is already “seasoned” (ingredients say salt).
I originally purchased the Sunrise Salt & Pepper wings, but I’ve been reading mixed reviews and am honestly considering returning them and getting these instead. 😅

Azazie Bridal Dress/ Wedding Gown Experience

I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews about ordering from Azazie, so I thought I’d share my experience.

With my bridal shower coming up and struggling to find the right dress, I ended up ordering three dresses from them. I was actually really impressed with the quality, size range, and overall designs.

Even though all three fit, the styles just weren’t the most flattering for my body type, so I ended up returning all of them unfortunately. The only downside was that return shipping wasn’t free, I paid about $10 per dress to send them back, which definitely adds up.

Thankfully, they had a pop-up in Toronto shortly after, and being able to try more dresses on in person made such a difference. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, there was a good variety of styles to try, and they even offered a small discount if you purchased at the event.

One thing that really stood out to me was the pricing. Most of the bridal dresses and wedding gowns I saw ranged from $150–$700 CAD, which I think is a great option for brides on a budget who still want something that feels special.

Overall, if they happen to host a pop-up near you, I’d definitely recommend checking it out and arriving there early so you get first dibs on the styles available. It’s so much easier than ordering multiple dresses online and hoping one works out. Even if you don’t end up buying that day, it’s a great opportunity to figure out which silhouettes flatter you best and then order the exact size, colour, and fabric you want online later.

I was honestly hesitant to order from Azazie because of some of the reviews I’d read, but after seeing the quality in person and experiencing one of their pop-ups, I’d consider ordering from them again for a future event.

I hope this helps anyone who’s considering ordering from Azazie!

I have IST.

Ivabradine has been working wonders for me. But lately my mornings has been tough. Anyone else more symptomatic first thing in the morning? Been going through heart racing flares (+20bpm-ish) the moment I open my eyes and it has been annoying and very discouraging. Would love to know your tips and tricks on how to get through it. I’ve just been drinking a glass of water/electrolytes and laying down with my legs raised.

Prong claws too long? 🥺

Are the prongs Claw too long?

Hi everyone. My partner and I had my uncle design my engagement ring. We personally picked out the 2ct round brilliant stone together and it’s absolutely beautiful. I also specifically wanted a flower basket setting because flowers remind me of my grandmother, who unfortunately won’t be there for the big day, so it felt like a meaningful way to keep a piece of her with me.

However, after showing multiple reference photos (photos 1 & 2) and then seeing the finished ring (photos 3 onward), I can’t help but feel a little sad. The prongs seem much longer than I expected and, in my opinion, they cover quite a bit of the stone itself. There also seems to be a noticeable amount of spacing in the setting, and I’m not sure if that’s normal for this type of flower basket design or if it’s why the ring looks slightly hexagon shaped from the top view, or maybe that’s just how a 6 prong setting appears (though I heard 6 prongs is actually suppose to make the diamond appear more round) I genuinely don’t know.

What makes this harder is that I already approved the wax mold earlier in the process, so I feel bad bringing this up now. The original wax mold actually had shorter prongs, but my uncle mentioned he was worried about the stone’s security and wanted to make them longer. At the time, I agreed because the shorter ones did seem a bit too delicate, but I didn’t realize they’d end up this long 😭. Looking back, I wish I had asked to see the wax mold with the actual stone in it before finalizing everything, definitely my mistake too.

I’ve waited so long for this ring and I just feel emotional and disappointed right now. I’d really appreciate any honest advice or opinions, especially from anyone familiar with flower basket settings or prong adjustments 😮‍💨

So my best friend and I have the same birthday coming up next week, and we usually do a celebratory dinner together. Any recommendations on where we should go?

We want to dress up, so definitely not anything too casual, but also not full-on fine dining since that’s a bit out of our budget (trying to aim for around $60ish per person MAYBE even $70.) Also, we’ve been eating a lot of Italian and Asian food lately, so preferably neither of those 😅

Would appreciate the suggestions!

Airbrush makeup for weddings, worth it or overrated?

I keep seeing people say airbrush foundation is the best option for weddings because it lasts longer, but I’m skeptical.

For those who’ve actually had it:
Did it really last all day, from ceremony to photos to dancing?
Did it look better in person or in photos compared to traditional foundation?
Did it wear well or start to break up?

I’m currently booking a MUA and trying to decide if I should prioritize someone who offers airbrush, or if a skilled artist using traditional foundation is just as good. Also, is airbrush usually more expensive?

Would love honest experiences, good or bad.
