Non rich people, how much do you spend outside of rent living here?
Outside of rent personally I spend about 1200 a month. A lot of that is food / eating out honestly. The rest is stuff like my subscriptions, small bills, clothes, events, transport

I’ve been applying to ramp jobs at every airline for months now. I have a couple friends who do it at jet blue and they recommend it to me highly.
I applied and got a denial less than 5 mins later and I have no idea why?
I have a bachelors degree in business, I have no felonies, no restrictions to work at all. I’ve been working in banking for the last 5 years and am leaving it to go back to school part time. So I’d like my full time role to be ramp.
I’m not sure what they saw that made them instantly deny me??
I was just curious how the semesters at LaGuardia work. To me it looks like the summers you have no class and no clinical, is that right?
I already have a bachelors, but have been unable to get into a hospital program for the last two years. CUNY would take three years, and I wouldn’t be able to start until NEXT year, IF I get a perfect gpa and past a waitlist.
So now my last resort is CAHE, or JPU. On one hand, CAHE costs 60k but it’s JCERT and AART accredited. I could start as soon as next month.
I think JPU costs $48k, is online and from what I’ve heard has a lot of clinical sites in New York. I would finish in 16 months.
I’ve heard SUPER mixed reviews for both schools. I’m not really sure what to do. I’m tired of working a job I hate, and I just want to start a new career. What do you guys recommend?
I live in NYC and notice a lot more people wearing these. I also go to a lot of clubs where phone usage isn’t allowed (to keep people from taking pictures). Every time I see someone in the street, in a park, beach, club, party, WHATEVER, with black glasses on, I feel like I’m being surveilled or something.
Godforbid someone with sunglasses SPEAKS to me unprovoked. I hate the thought of being used for someone’s “content”. I understand not all sunglasses are meta glasses, which makes it even more annoying because you can’t tell who’s who without looking CLOSELY.
Why must we record everything? Why does everything have to be content? Why can’t we just live beyond media?????
I see SO many mixed reviews on this sub about it. Unfortunately it costs $60k, so I’ve avoided even considering it for two years. But this is the second year I failed to get into a hospital based program (I already have a bachelors), and I’m getting tired of wasting time in a career I hate. I’m confident I could get into CAHE and start in November, but I HATE that it costs $60k!!
My other option is to do my prereqs for a cuny, get a perfect GPA, and pray I get into a program NEXT year in the fall. From what I’ve heard, every cuny has a waitlist of at least a year, and you almost don’t have a chance without a perfect gpa.
I see the CAHE has an evening program, im thinking that maybe at $60k, at least I could become a tech 12 months sooner than if I were to try a cuny. I am also thinking maybe the programs schedule would allow me to work part time at least? I have $70k saved up, so theoretically I wouldn’t “have” to take out loans, but it just hurts to think I’m gonna throw my life savings at this program with so many mixed reviews, when cunys cost 20k but are impossible to get in.
Don’t know where to go from here. If anyone has attended the CAHE evening program pls hmu
I have a Miata I’m selling (it’s worth maybe 4k-6k) and I’d like to sell it. What would be the best app / site to use in NYC? I was thinking Facebook marketplace, or maybe OfferUp? But I haven’t sold a car in a long time so I don’t know where most people are looking for used cars.
I checked caravans but they r giving me WAY under kbb value so I don’t wanna sell it to them.
I eat a lot of gyros, mostly in queens. Here is something I’ve noticed, and I don’t really get why this is the case.
A Greek, Chicken thigh Gyro: Ranges from $10-$14. The most I’ve seen is $15. Has chicken thigh, lettuce, tomatoe, tzaiki, and whatever sauce you want.
A halal chicken thigh Gryo: Ranges from $7-$9 most I’ve seen is $10 at brick and mortar stores. Has chicken thigh, lettuce, tomato, and whatever sauce you want.
A Greek gyro, can be double the price of a halal one! And from my experience, they are usually not any bigger. If anything, in most cases I’d even say they have much less protein. What’s deal??
Edit: Just clarifying I am comparing both Greek carts to halal carts. And Greek standing stores to halal standing stores. Even when it’s Greek store, to halal store, Greek costs more every time.
I have been offered both cars for $4500 and unsure which is a better option. Both are for sale by people over the age of 50. Honestly I’m leaning towards the first one just because I really love the blue, and I like that it comes with a new top IF I want to change it eventually.
It has two small rust spots that have been covered. It also has a patch in the soft top, but the owner is throwing in a new soft top in the box ready to be installed. Most recent owner has had it for over a year, and appears to have maintained it pretty well.
It looks like the guy owned it for a while. Around the wheel well there are some rust bubbles in the paint, nothing breaking through the body just yet. Top looks good.
The body looks great, the interior too. It has some sort of after market exhaust. The seller is kinda unresponsive, but confirmed he’d do $4k. What scares me about this one, is that it has been sitting on this guys lot for 10 months. This is a guy who buys and resells cars. He has been unable to sell it for 10 months, so I’m kinda scared of a car that’s just been sitting, unused for so long.
I am currently in NYC where every community college has like a 1-2 year wait, even private hospital programs are crazy competitive. I’m considering just moving to a different state. Can anyone recommend some schools and in what state one can start quickly with minimal wait? I already have a bachelors degree in something else
I currently work an office job where I have to do a lot of file organizing (on a computer) entry work in excel, and analysis of financials with a bunch of numbers. I often make mistakes like forgetting to update files, or make errors inputting things. I’m not very organized and am more of a big picture person.
On the flip side I’m pretty good at mechanical thing, fixing things, and doing more manual labor type work. Super good with people and physical work. But my flaw is really in this detail oriented stuff. My dream is to transition to xray school, and am currently in the application process. But this is such a big problem for me that I’m worried it would be an issue in this field too?
