finally getting serious about electrolytes after feeling wiped out all the time

i have been trying to stay active with gym sessions and some weekend sports but i kept hitting a wall where i would feel completely drained for hours afterward. i was drinking plenty of water but it did not seem to be enough especially on hotter days or after longer workouts. i started reading more about how electrolytes actually help with recovery and focus instead of just basic hydration.

that led me to some padel electrolytes which has a nice mix of salts plus some ingredients aimed at keeping you sharp. i have been adding it to my routine for a couple of weeks now and i am noticing i bounce back faster and do not feel as foggy in the afternoons. has anyone else switched to proper electrolytes and seen a real difference in daily energy or post workout recovery? what brands or types have worked well for you?

setting up my first kitchen from scratch in Adelaide, where do i go for the basics?

Hey everyone, I'm finally moving out of my sharehouse into my own place next month and realizing just how much stuff I actually need to buy. I basically need to get everything from scratch, cutlery sets, dinnerware, basic pots, and small appliances. I want things that will last a while but my budget is pretty tight.

Are there any specific outlet centers or clearance spots around town that I should check out instead? Where did you all go to kit out your place without breaking the bank?

43 M4F looking for a date

Just moved to Sydney a few weeks ago and still figuring out the social side of things. I'm 43, single, and honestly just want to meet someone to share a decent meal with while I get settled.

I've been looking up restaurants and chose Attenzione Food and Wine, it looks really good. Italian, solid wine list, the kind of place that's better with company than alone.

I'm thinking of going sometime this week or next weekend. Not looking to make it a big deal, just dinner and good conversation. I'm pretty easy to talk to, I like food, and I'm not going to make it weird.

Anyone who wants...?

Why do standard detox centers think a 5-day benzo taper is okay

still makes my blood boil thinking about how the standard medical system handles this stuff.

They literally treat it like a weekend bender. you go into a generic hospital ward, they rapid taper you in like four or five days, give you some random anti-seizure meds, and then just discharge you into acute terror. Its genuinely medical negligence. They completely ignore the ashton manual just to clear a bed and bill insurance

When I was in the worst of it last year the first clinic I went to wanted to basically cold turkey me from a multi-year prescription. had to literally pack my bags and walk out. Ended up having to look out of state and found discovery point retreat mostly because I desperately needed a place that actually understood dual diagnosis and the fact that you cant just speedrun brain chemistry healing

but tbh it terrifies me knowing how many people are probably sitting in standard detox wards right now trusting doctors who have absolutely zero clue how long this withdrawal actually takes

Anyone here using DTF transfers for small batch drops?

Been working on a small side project outside my day job, putting together a limited streetwear line. Nothing huge, just testing the market with some graphic tees and hoodies. Trying to figure out the best print method for short runs without killing the budget.

I've been looking into dtf transfers now and they seem like a solid option. For those of you who've done small drops, are DTF transfers worth it over screen printing at low quantities? And how does quality hold up after washing? I don't want to put out something that fades after three washes. Trying to get this right before I commit to an order.

Has anyone traveled through multiple countries just to follow a personal passion or hobby?

I've been thinking a lot lately about what it would look like to build a trip entirely around something you love rather than just ticking off landmarks. Not the usual tourist trail, but actually letting a hobby or skill guide your whole route through a region.

I keep coming back to stories of musicians, artists, writers, or athletes who have basically used their passion as a compass. A guitarist hopping between cities known for live music scenes, a painter chasing specific landscapes, a runner doing iconic routes across different countries. The journey itself becomes about the craft as much as the destination.

There's something really appealing about that kind of intentional travel. You end up meeting locals and fellow enthusiasts in a way that normal sightseeing rarely allows. You also get to see a country or city through a completely different lens.

Has anyone here actually done something like this? Maybe dedicated a trip or even a longer journey to pursuing something specific you're passionate about? I'd love to hear which regions worked well for this kind of travel, how you planned the logistics, and whether it lived up to what you imagined. Did the passion make the experience richer, or did it sometimes get in the way of just enjoying where you were?

Are invisible door frames actually worth the absolute headache during the plastering phase?

Plasterers are quoting me double for invisible frames and I need to know, does anyone actually get this right without the plaster cracking where the aluminum meets the drywall? I've seen so many installs that look mint on day one then turn into a spiderweb of hairline cracks after summer. I get that it's the look for high-end renos but is it even achievable for a normal human? I've been looking at some of the flush-finish systems but I'm honestly more worried about the execution than the product itself. Hit me with your war stories.

How did you become a makeup artist?

A few years ago I would've laughed if someone told me I'd be doing makeup on actual clients.

It started because friends kept asking me to do their makeup before events. Then one friend tagged me in a photo, another recommended me to her cousin, and somehow I went from practicing on weekends to getting paid bookings.

The weird part is that there wasn't one big moment where I became a makeup artist. It was a bunch of small things stacking up. I took a few online classes too, including some lessons from Online Makeup Academy when I wanted more structure.

What was the moment where you realized this could actually be a career for you?

Has anyone combined a creative passion with longterm travel across Europe?

I've been thinking a lot lately about how travel and creative work can feed into each other in ways that are hard to explain until you've experienced it. Something about moving through different cities, cultures, and landscapes seems to unlock a kind of inspiration that staying in one place just can't replicate.

I keep reading about people who pack up and spend months wandering through Europe while working on a project, whether that's writing, photography, painting, or something else entirely. Waking up in Lisbon one week and Vienna the next, letting each place shape your creative output, honestly sounds like something worth actually doing.

For those who have done this, I have a few questions. How did you structure your time between exploring and sitting down to actually work? Did you find certain cities or regions more inspiring than others? Were there unexpected challenges nobody warned you about, like finding quiet space or staying motivated without any routine?

I'm also curious whether traveling with a creative focus changed how deeply you connected with each place compared to more traditional sightseeing. Would love to hear stories, practical advice, or honest warnings from people who have tried this kind of trip.

How do you balance both without overdoing it?

Been doing yoga pretty consistently for about two years now. Usually three sessions a week, mix of vinyasa and some slower yin stuff on recovery days. It's been solid for flexibility and keeping stress in check.

Lately I've been trying to be more intentional about my overall wellness, not just the flexibility side but also core strength and posture. Started adding pilates a few months back and it's been a noticeable shift. My lower back feels better and I'm more aware of how I hold myself during the day.

To stay consistent at home, I picked up a foldable pilates reformer that fits my space well and I've been using it a few times a week.

Still figuring out how to balance yoga days and reformer days without overdoing it. Anyone running both, how do you structure the week?

After living all over Canada, Calgary is the first place that feels like home. Thinking about buying my first house

Over the years I've bounced around quite a bit in Canada. I started out in Toronto, then spent some time in Quebec, moved to Vancouver after that, and even lived in Winnipeg for a while.

I moved around in search of opportunities and looking forward to experiencing the larger cities. Each move seemed to be a step closer to achieving my dream. Toronto offered me the hustle and bustle while Vancouver offered the picturesque views, but I soon discovered that urban life was not for me

I moved to Calgary about 3 years ago, and I must say that it is the first place that I have really felt like my home. There is an element of balance in life here. The city is active enough for me that there are chances everywhere, but at the same time, it is not too crowded that you get caught up in endless traffic and crowd and end up paying huge amounts for rent. Quiet surroundings and some peace mean a lot more to me these days

Now that I am living in rental apartments throughout almost my entire adulthood, I believe it is finally the right time to purchase my own home. The idea of owning a home has always been on my list of dreams that I need to fulfill, but this will be the first time I would do it. Some of the people in town advised me to get in touch with an agency, but first, I would like to hear about other people's experiences

For homeowners who purchased their first home in Calgary, is there anything that you would have liked to know before buying your first home? What common pitfalls do first-time homebuyers need to look out for?

Wife threw my 10-year wallet in the trash... need a new one that'll last the next 10 years. Recommendations?

So my wife went on a decluttering spree last weekend and straight up tossed my old wallet that I’ve had for the last 10 years. Thing was beat to hell but it survived everything. Now I’m in the market for a new one that can hopefully go the distance too. Looking for something durable, not too fat in the pocket (I carry a few cards, some cash and license), and preferably real leather that’ll age nicely. Not in a huge rush but I want it to be solid.

Any of you have a wallet that’s lasted 8+ years? What brands worked for you? I’ve been checking out some minimalist ones, and I saw everyman (their Grafton line) that looks pretty tough. Anyone have experience with them or other BIFL wallets?

Would love your real recommendations and any horror stories of wallets that died way too fast.

(If your wife also randomly throws out your stuff, I feel you 😂)
